WE9 - Master League Thread

Those last two WESHOP options are for Master League team structure and Master League starting points respectively.

BTW I've also found that Robinho isn't effective enough.

Kuijt hits penalty treble

Dutch striker Dirk Kuijt hit a hattrick of penalties as
Betis beat Sociedad 5:1 at home in a one-sided contest.
It was Betis' biggest win under manager Mathejo, surpassing
their opening day 4:1 thrashing of Real-Madrid.
Inspite of all that, Betis have had a checkered start to
the league, winning 6, losing 4 of the first 10 games.

In the Champions league, Group of "Death", Betis are
still alive, thanks to 1:1 draws away to Barca and home to Roma.
The next match sees them travel to group-leaders Juventus
in a repeat of the last round match.
Can Betis shut out Juve like they did, and try to get a crucial
win. Manager Mathejo set out his stall saying:
" A draw will be a great result at the Delle Alpi. But we will
fight for victory if we can counter-attack."

Real Betis face crucial game in Champions league Group

champlogo.gif

On the eve of the last matchday of the Group-stages,
Group A standings:
Juventus 9pts
Betis 8pts
Roma 7pts
Barca 4pts

Betis beat Juve 2:1 away, and Barca 4:0 at home, but then
lost 3:0 to Roma to setup an intriguing last matchday,
needing a win against Juventus to ensure a spot
in the Quarter-Finals.

Manager Mathejo said:
"This is the biggest match of the season, we're at home
to Juventus, a team we have beaten 2 out of 3 times.
We must win this game to make sure we qualify.
Otherwise we have to depend on Barca. If Barca beat/draw
Roma then we're through as long as we don't lose.
It's a tense night for my team.
Our destiny is in our hands, we must grab the initiative.
Our league form is not going well, and I think we
have given up on the La Liga title with Barcelona
ahead by 20 pts midway through the season.
The Champions League is our best bet, we have beaten
both Juventus and Barcelona, we deserve to be in the Quarter-Finals."

Betis bow out of CL, now enter UEFA cup

champlogo.gif

Betis drew 2:2 with a highly charged Juventus team, but failed
to qualify for the Q-Finals after Roma beat Barcelona.

Betis will now enter the UEFA cup and face Barcelona in the
1st round.

Manager Mathejo said:
"It's disappointing to go out like this. Juventus played their
best match against us. They were quicker to every ball and
punished us. We tried our best, but in the end we could not
win this game.
I'm surprised Barcelona lost so easily to Roma. We were hoping
they would atleast draw.
Needless to say my players are eager to face Barcelona in the
UEFA cup 1st round. I can't call it revenge, but there is
a lot of energy in my players, and they need to channel it
into a good win at home."

has anyone started as the ML default team? i did and i ended up playing in this blue kit made by Joma, and had a sponser of something like "nipicon", then my comp crashed, without me saving, so every time i start a mldefault, i never get this kit now!! grrr has anyone else got this kit?

please help as i have asked this already

UEFA Cup Final: Betis vs Fiorentina

Real Betis reached the UEFA CUP Final last night
after beating Manchester United 3:1 on aggregate.
They will face Italian side Fiorentina in the Final
to be played at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam.

Path to Final (Betis):
----------------------
1st-Rd:
----Betis 1:0 Barcelona (Kuijt)
----Barcelona 0:2 Betis (Kuijt x 2)

Q-Finals:
----Deportivo 1:1 Betis (Kuijt)
----Betis 2:1 Deportivo (Forlan x 2)

S-Finals:
----Betis 2:1 Man Utd (Cavenaghi, D'Allesandro)
----Man Utd 0:1 Betis (D'Allesandro)

Manager Mathejo spoke to the press:
"It's a great privilege to be in the UEFA cup final.
Initially we were looking to do well in the Champions league,
but this is also a very tough tournament to win.
We have reached here beating 3 very difficult opponents.
Now we are confident of winning the trophy.
Fiorentina will be tricky opponents, we did not expect
them in the Final, but they are a good team with some skilful
players like Maxwell, Jorgensen. They can hurt us for sure.
We should concentrate and play positive football."

Betis edge Fiorentina 1:0 to clinch UEFA Cup 2006!!

big_md-i187191.jpg

Dirk Kuijt's 23rd minute header was the winning goal
on the night that gave Real Betis their first title in two seasons
under current manager "Mathejo".
It was a game well-controlled by Betis who could have scored in
the 1st minute when D'Allesandro hit the post.
In the end it was a comfortable win.

Betis finished 4th in La Liga table:
1. Barcelona 70 pts
2. Real Madrid 62 pts
3. Valencia 58 pts
4. Betis 50 pts
5. Atletico Madrid 47 pts
6. Deportivo 46 pts

Barcelona won Copa-Del-Rey again.
Inter Milan won the Champions League again.

Mathejo told reporters about next season:
"We acheived a lot this season. La Liga was a bit disappointing
not to break into the top 2, but atleast we are in the Champions League
again. We won the UEFA cup deservedly and I think our team is now
ready for the next stage of progress...we have a lot of cash from
our UEFA cup win and of course the Champions league run, so we can
re-inforce our squad with even more quality."

When you start a ML on we9/pes5 do you get three options again?
Match mode players
Default Players
Your Team or whatever that 1 was called?

i was wondering aswell are the default players still castolo n crew?

You do get the 3 choices again

And when you atart the masterleague, it annonces all the oldies castolo and co. are retiring

So is there no choice to start off with default players?

do you have 2 be match moode players?

Hey guys, what is the exact purpose of Regulate Condition? I really don't understand this concept and its purpose!

Forlan fires Betis to last-gasp win over Bilbao
278195_MEDIUMSQUARE.jpg

Diego Forlan continued his red-hot streak of form by hitting both
goals in Betis' 2:1 win over Athletic Bilbao yesterday night.
In a close game, Bilbao had taken the lead through ex-Betis player
Capi and looked set to end Betis' unbeaten run.
But Forlan equalized with 12 minutes to go with a sharp turn and
powerful shot down the middle of the goal.
The Uruguayan then won a free-kick from a counter-attack in 88' minute.
He stepped up to blast it into the net to win the match.

Betis face Chelsea & Barcelona in CL 2nd group-stage

champlogo.gif

At the draw for the 2nd Group Stage (last-16),
UEFA cup holders Real Betis were paired with English champions Chelsea,
Barcelona and surprise package Aston Villa.

Betis manager Mathejo had this to say about his opponents:
"We're glad to have avoided AC Milan and Inter.
But we'll be facing one of the best teams Chelsea.
We faced them in a friendly in pre-season and it was difficult
getting a 1:1 draw. This time I'm sure we have to play at our
best to get anything from them.
Barcelona are familiar to us. We have beaten them in the last
4 meetings and I feel confident this time also.
We hope Chelsea and Barcelona will take points off each other.
Aston Villa are a surprise for us, we don't know too much about
them except that they deserve respect for reaching here.
We will take one game at a time."

Doing well, sitting at the top of the league with a few points to spare.

Next game is the 1st game of the WEFA Championship against Fiorentina, also in the group are Barca and Arsenal. Looking forward to facing off against some new teams and quality ones at that.

CL Matchday 1: Betis held by Barca

Barcelona held out against Real Betis in a 1:1 draw at the Nou Camp
tonight. Betis started slowly with Barca threatening to break free
on a few occasions, but each time the defense held out. On 30 minutes,
from a Barca corner, Perea tried to clear the ball from Ronaldinho
only to put into his own goal. Betis fought back and dominated the
rest of the game with Kuijt scoring the equalizer on 70 mins after
superb assist from Forlan. Fernando should have won the game for Betis
in the last minute but for a point-blank save from Valdes.

Chelsea beat Aston Villa 2:1 to lead the group.

Manager Mathejo's post-match comments:
"I think we were unlucky not to win. Barca had just one shot
on goal and that was an own-goal. We had 10 shots, but some bad
misses and superb keeping was the problem.
On another day it could have been an easy win.
Our next CL match is at Aston Villa, we hope we can win there,
but it's our first trip to England and their fans will give us
a tough time."

Betis beat Galacticos in crucial La Liga game
In the La Liga, Betis beat the league-leaders Real Madrid 1:0
at the Bernabeu to close the gap to 1 pt. Diego Forlan scored his
11th league goal of the season with a superb finish after a great
move involving Yeste and D'Allesandro.
Forlan spoke:
"I am enjoying my time at Betis. It's a great club, with a great
coach. I hope to stay here for many years."

Before each match have a look at your player condition. If they are on more down arrows than up-arrows you may give this a try. What it does is, it balances out some of the condition arrows. Its a double edged sword though. Players with 'high' condition may be lowered as a result of this, while palyers with 'low' condition may bosst to normal.

All in all its a lottery. I usually just used normal squad rotation though.

Cheers.

.........culled from www.arsenal.com....

Arsenal FC started the season in a stuttering fashion as so many football experts predicted before the 2008 season kickoff. Andy Gray said that " arsenal was the underdog last season where they won the champions league and the league title so the big wigs werent paying attention to them".

He considered their sudden football success as been a fluke and teams are not looking at them as sleepers no more, so it would be hard for them to replicate the same success it achieved last season by winning two major trophies in just their second year in the premiership league.

Especially with the likes of Chelsea strengthening thier squad with the acquistion of Gerrard and Kaka. and Ruud Van Nistelrooy returning from a long term injury that made him miss major part of last season for manchester united.Liverpool also adding Van Der Vaart thier ranks.

Though he did have good words to say about the new coach Mr Mmeny which he tagged " The Real Deal". In his own words " we can see that Mr Mmeny has turned arsenal fc from minnows to big tymers ova a short period of time. He has turned those players to believers and they are suddenly playing to their potentials".

Arsenal Fc have actually made him to eat his own words, has they brushed off thier early season stuttered and have gotten into their strides.

A season which so many paudits predicted wont be easy for them to repeat thier european and league success have turned out to be a season where arsenal sets new records, such as most goals scored in a game in the premiership league... when they trashed southampton 8-0 in highbury.Currently in first position in the premiership league with 52 pts , chelsea 45pts, man utd 45pts respectively.

Reyes has been a revelation this season. He is having a career year. He us currently the leading scorer in the prem league with 16 goals from 21 matches and 9 assists to go with that. Reyes had this to say after his double strike in the game against newcastle over the weekend which arsenal won 3-1.

" It is such a big honor and privillege to play at such a big club and alongside Thierry Henry. I have so much respect for the new manager. The faith he has in me through the hard times and the success he has brought to the club within 3years at the job. I am happy here and you can see that with the number of goals i have scored this season. At least i have been able to prove to people some how that i love been here and i have weathered the storms with the radio hoax invovling me with real madrid".

In the champions league it hasnt been any different they comfortably strolled to the quarter finals, winning all its group stages matches home and away thereby setting a new record of 18 total points in group stages of the champions league . They currently hold the record of 10 unbeaten home games in the champions league.

The Manager had this to say after the resounding victory over their quarterfinal opponents.

" I hope we have finally proved a point to so many paudits and naysayers out there that this team has character. This team is for real. I am very happy with our european form and success of late. It doesnt stop there for me i want to win both the premiership and champs league back to back,to consider my team great just like AC milan did two seasons ago before i took over has manager of this club. I have set goals for this team, i am just so happy that this players are determined and have bought into my philosophy and passion for this game.My goal for now is to retain the premier league because to me thats the yardstick for the success of the team".

When asked about what he thought about facing real madrid in the semifinal in champs league and also the chances of the team winning a treble this is what he had to say .

"I wont say we havent been thinking about having treble season. We are in a good position to do that we are in the semifinal of fa cup, the semifinal of the champs league and currently 7 pts clear in the league with 9 games to go which is not massive but a cushion. But we want to take a day at a time. I dont want complacency to kick in the team because the schedule ahead is tricky". I would say Real Madrid is presents us a test we all have been waiting for. A chance to have people buzzing and talking abou for some time to come. I can't wait for that game, cos i think both team are gonna have a go right from the whistle. We would have to wait and see what would happen. though i am confident that we can play on their level, that is a no brainer because we are currently the defending champs., but for now lets enjoy the victory.

CL Matchday 2: Betis sink Villa in injury time

Real Betis notched up a crucial 2:1 win at Aston Villa.
Kallstrom opened the scoring for the Spanish team and it
was all one-way traffic as Villa managed to survive.
In the 2nd half Villa equalized through Moore against the run
of play.
Betis threw everything at Villa and in injury time, Ewerthon
pounced on a blunder by Sorensen to score the winner.
In the other match, Barcelona edged Chelsea 3:2 at Stamford Bridge.

Manager Mathejo's post-match comments:
"I'm really happy we won, because we totally dominated this game
and should have been 3 up by half-time. I was very angry when they
equalized and told the team to attack even more. In the end it was
a lucky winner after a mistake by their keeper. But we deserve
the victory.
The next 3 matches in the CL are all at home, starting with Chelsea.
That will be difficult because Chelsea lost today and will be fighting
for the 3 pts. It should be an open game."

Cavenaghi treble seals Sevilla derby !!
_40872543_cavenaghi203.jpg

In one of the most exciting matches of the season, Real Betis
overpowered local rivals FC Sevilla 4:2 at home in La Liga.
The away team took a shock 0:2 lead after tearing Betis' defence
to shreds in the first 20 minutes.
Betis who were resting several key players woke up and Cavenaghi
fired a 25 minute hat-trick to overturn the score.
Olivera added one more to complete the magnificent victory.

Cavenaghi had this to say:
"Wow, what a game that was...at 2:0 down we still had the belief
and we kept plugging on. Fernando and Mitea's assists were terrific
and I just did the rest. It was the most exciting game I have played
in, and the best part was that it was the Derby game. I'm very happy
for our fans."

In other news, Betis progressed to the Copa Del Rey Q-Finals
after beating Sevilla 2:0 away from home AET to win 2:1 on aggregate.
They will face Mallorca next.
