What a weekend. All of the big three tied.
Porto tied at home 0-0 with Vitoria de Setubal, Benfica tied away with Naval 1-1 and Sporting tied away with Boavista 2-2.

I still remember when Boavista won the title. Everyone said "they'r gonna slip" or "they will lose points, it's always like that", but they won the title that year.
So the way Braga are playing, if they keep up at least till the end of the first half of the league, I will put them among the contenders for the title.
One thing is for sure, they are making one hell a start.

Thanks for the goal doping. They're always welcome. That pitch looked pretty bad.
As for Braga, they did slip up towards the end of last season, but there were so many teams trying to win it, it was quite a finish.

Compared with last season most of the teams are playing better.
The exception being Sporting Lisbon, but they aren't that bad as people seem to think, it's the competition that is much better.
I'm very much enjoying this season, although Porto is not dominating (good old days :p)

Another weekend of glory for portuguese football.

Sporting won 2-1 against união de leiria but leiria was denied a clear goal.

Benfica managed to tie 2-2. Two goals of Petit from set pieces from fouls that didn't even exist. :\

Porto won 1-0 with a quaresma goal, a possible penalty against porto, but a clean goal denied by the ref.

Wonderfull weekend as always with our glourious referees in the spotlights. And that of course only thanks to Jose Veiga, and idiot who still has the balls to go to the tv and say the ref made mistakes against them.

Last 2 games, 2 goals scored on offside against us... maybe u didn't see the same replays i did...

The foul that caused the first goal wasn't a foul? I'm not even sure if it was or not a penalty, and you're telling me it wasn't a foul? Lmao

You see the problem is that when the ref makes mistakes against porto nobody talks about, and I don't use the excuse of refs for my team's defeats ties.

But when is benfica/sporting it's like the world ended.

The first one he clearly forced the foul. The guy isn't made of paper.
And yes it was offside the goal of Rio Ave but don't use it as an excuse, cause in the words of Petit(imo the real captain of that team), "we need more attitude" cause benfica have much better players than them and they should have won the game.

Perhaps they parked that jeep infront of the goal. After all, it is celebrating with them.

:lol: Maritimo has been bad this year in comparison with recent seasons.
On the other hand Nacional is doing quite a league. 2nd alongside Porto. Above Benfica and Sporting.

Anyone see the friendly between sporting and Santos (5-3) ?

A question for you guys. Anyone know more about RBC Roosendaal's Edgar Marcelino? Is he on loan from Penafiel or was he bought? Checking their site he seems to play as a left winger, in a typical Dutch formation. What's he like as a player? ie what's he best at - dribbling, technique, passing? I editd his appearance to make him look a bit more like himself. I think i might sign him for Alavés.

yes, don't use it as an excuse for your draw. u have much better players than them but you needed two unexisting fouls to score.

Don't you remember the five years you had been benefectiated by the referee's? That five titles won with your president money, with vacations in Brazil for the referee's and prostitution... :applause:

How can I understand something said by someone as biased as you are? I can't, therefore it's only possible to read it ;)

Your opinion is not the truth, 'cause just as you believe that the fouls didn't exist, I do believe they did. Can I be biased? Yeah, but so are you :)

Pelintra, BS from newspapers. Excuses nothing more, because we OWNED the league during those five years and your team was in shambles. Oh and those accusations, last time I checked you are only guilty if found guilty, something that never happened, and they never even reached the courts. Don't make stupid excuses.

Doping. Biased? Think not. I'm gonna drop on the first one (but I won't change my opinion on this). But If you say the second one is a foul, then i'm afraid you are blinded by your club. Just recheck what happened 5 seconds b4 mantorras dived. Pay really good attention, cause even that illuded me the first time.

Braga is showing to be a contender for the title. Like I said before if they keep up until january i'll then consider them a real treat.

Porto crushed Academica 5-1, one of the goals didn't existed, a mighty right footed strike from Cesar Peixoto, left-back and the club's current lead scorer, that hit the crossbar and then the goal line, but didn't went all the way in. But at the time Porto was already winning by 2 goals, Goals by Lucho Gonzalez after a great team play, first by Lisandro passing to Quaresma that crossed low to the box for Lucho to score. Second goal came by Lisandro with a header after cross by Bosingwa. Peixoto's goal was third. Then Lisandro added another taking advantage after Jorginho's strike that the keeper couldn't hold, then came a classy goal by Lucho after a long kick by the keeper Baia the ball went all the way into the box and Lucho with a master touch lobbed the ball over the keeper. Consolation goal by Academica with a great strike by Marcel.

Benfica lost against Braga, another game with serious mistakes by the referee. First goal came by Anderson after a cross by Petit. Braga equalized later by Cesinha with alot of help by keeper Quim that should have hold onto the ball. Bevacqua then hit the post with a stunning strike, but he later did score with a header. Then the referre decided to play funny guy and awarded a penalty because of an handball that didn't existed. Nuno Gomes scored, this was at the 90+3 minute, but then 2 minutes later Maxi Bevacqua with a header made sure justice was served, althoug on offside position. Some might say it's poetic justice. Benfica with Simão is one thing, without him is another. Deserved win for Braga.

The Penafiel - Sporting match didn't had much of interesting, Liedson scored the only goal after confusion in the box, using is acrobatic skills to reach the ball. No real danger for both keepers, but in the end the winner was found.
