Battlefield : Bad Company Series

I like rush more.

Thats a mountain isnt it? :)

Lots to explore with this game - forgot all about 'classes' and that i should have been doling out ammo packs. (Do i get XP if someone picks up the pack?)

Started to pick up some dog tags today too, thats a nice touch.

This game feels so different to COD love the way the maps really open out and you can go loads of different routes to flank people.

Yup, dishing out ammo packs rewards you with XP. Eventually it becomes second nature and you're throwing them about a lot. Same with the other classes - medic boxes, motion mines, repair tool for vehicles etc.

It's a brilliantly deep game.

I much prefer Conquest over Rush, as Rush relies too much on getting things done quickly and you have very little time to think - Rush is therefore very aptly named. Conquest just seems far more open to me and gives you more scope to explore and take out individual targets not associated with nod particular area of the map.

Both modes are great but I prefer rush because it focuses the fighting in one area of the map at a time, which given the size of the maps in Battlefield is a good thing, especially as it's only 12-a-side. I like the whole attackers vs defenders thing. It's really intense and promotes close quarters combat rather than sniping.

My main issue with Conquest is the relentless base-camping that takes place when your team loses all the points on the map, one of the few things that really pisses me off about this game.

I'm loving conquest on Vietnam as camping is minimised and my teammates seem bothered about capturing bases. Racking up the points, getting between 2000 and 2400 per game.

I'll be rank 13 in no time .

(I came late to the party)

Anyone know what this says?

Stats bug got to me last night. Apparently pretty commonplace now. Everything was reset when I booted the game up. It was the first time trying out normal MP after bumming the Vietnam MP since it came out.

Some folk say the stats come back at random points, or if you get killed 1-4 times. This hasn't been the case personally. Got the game last month and was on level 19. Don't think I can be arsed starting from scratch, the disconnections from matches recently (I keep getting booted out, every other game) have been enough to grate on me as it is.

I had this happen to me a couple of months ago. All I did was start a game and my rank and unlocks returned quite quickly.

It took ages for it to come back last night, i was on with mates so i stuck around til it sorted itself.

Annoying as really, i like my body armour to wind up snipers a bit ;)

because you need a legit cd key thats on dice/ea's database. the agme also needs online activation.

if your cd key is from some keygen then it wont be identified by ea/dice's servers and deny you access to playing it online like 9/10 pc games that are cracked.

Wish they'd sort the fucking servers out. The second day running that my stats have failed to show so any unlocks/exp I get doesn't count.

What's the point.

I'm loving it. I downloaded Vietnam and gave it a decent go, but I find myself switching back to the original BC2 game with the new maps. Really enjoying it, still.

Vietnam is good, but I'm a scope man, really.

Nope. I'm Assault class all the way. Just prefer having a 4x scope.

Same here. F2000 with x4 scope and smoke grenades are amazing. Something's happened to this gun since the last patch, I previously never used it because it was weak at anything other than really short distances, but now it's really effective.

The tactics you can use with your classes are amazing. You can directly help your team mates, but also use certain weapons etc in less direct ways. My mate and I decided to lay down a couple of ammo boxes and stand on top of them before bombarding the enemy objectives with smoke. You automatically reload your two grenades, meaning you can repeatedly fire as many as you want over the target and surrounding areas. This helped other team mates to make inroads towards the objective, set it, then get out again. It turned a game we were losing into a game we ended up winning. Just a shame we didn't get any points for creating the opportunity for others to take the objectives.

Did you 'spot' the objective as they attacked it? That would have got you some bonus points.

I've done this too and it's quite an effective tactic, and I actually got a couple of kills by hitting the enemy with smoke grenades. Shame that smoke grenades are widely neglected in the Battlefield community, or at least I seem to be the only person that uses them. It's probably because smoke grenades don't earn XP for the player, but they can help win matches which is good enough for me.

I remember when I used to use smoke grenades all the time back in the COD 3/4/5 days and all I got was whining American kids moaning at me because they couldn't see anything.

Any of you guys playing BFBC2 regularly and fancy boosting for a few trophies?

I'm stuck trying to get the Demolition Man (20 Destruction 2.0 kills) and E Tu, Brute (knife 5 friends) trophy - I only have 1 friend kill (Radiation ;)) and 1 Demolition Kill after 5 hours straight trying. I need some regulars as most of the people on my friends list don't play BFBC any more.

Would appreciate your help, my PSN is: matt1986nffc

I'm on from 6pm most nights, more at the weekend.

Add me, mate.

Scutchio usertag.

Couple of things annoyed me tonight:

1. Entering a game only to find we've lost before even getting into the round. That is frustrating.

2. When supposed members of your squad shoot you and then bring you back to life using the defibs purely for points. Can be very annoying indeed, especially if you can't get away from them or shoot the f*ckers in the face.

Yeah I only see smoke grenades when myself and my mates all play together in a squad, I genuinely cannot remember any random players using them. But I'm with you, helping the team win is good enough for me. Mostly I play in a squad of 3-4 people who I know, so winning the match becomes more important.

That said, smoke grenades can be used as a weapon, if you directly hit someone with it you'll get a kill. But I also must look a bit odd when I start smoke grenading my own objective sometimes when a team mate is defusing the charge. Covering the area with smoke will greatly increase their chance of avoiding being shot while defusing the charge. So it can work in a defensive sense too, not to mention forcing tanks to back off because they can't see anything in front of them :P

Yeah I spot the objectives, it's a great way of getting bonus points. You can do it when you defend too. Sometimes just shooting someone with an assault rifle can net you over 100 points for a 'defensive' kill or something similarly named.

On a different note, it's bizarre how some random players seem to behave in this game. For example, last night, the attacking team set a charge on our very last base that was standing. If it was destroyed, then game over. So, while running back to the objective, I notice on the map that three defending players all spawned just 15 yards away from the objective, then ran in the opposite direction and jumped into a chopper, took off, and left the objective to detonate. Now, don't they understand that if you don't defuse it, the game would end and they wouldn't be able to fly around in a chopper?! Really odd. They didn't even have enough time to fly up the other end of the map anyways because they just left it......some people are really odd.
