Wright was a true example of a club hero, and a man who brought hope to millions who thought, "Yes, there's still time to become a premiership footballer!" An Arsenal legend but he was average at international level.

What's your definition of world class?

Because I wouldn't say Campbell was.

Mate come on, a few years ago he would have walked into most European clubs. Plus he held his England spot for years unchallenged.

Like i said he didn't get much of a chance, And also the manger did not believe in him like ours did.

How comes he could do it for us against most the top teams and not do it for England? The ability was there but obviously other factors came into play. Believe me you need the manager to believe in you.

That's just one of the best in England and although they are an great team they're no really the best in the world or close.

Saying that Brazil are and they have Roque Junior...

People have different definitions, mine is a player has to prove he is world class and I don't think Sol has.

It not over, but it's gonna be really really difficult now :(

All credit to West Ham, I think they are the best promoted side for years, but if Arsenal are serious about winning anything this year they are are the kind of team that have to be beaten. We seem toothless in attack at the moment, I'd love to simply say it's Henry's absence but I think it's deeper than that.

I think the squad is good enough to challenge for top honours, but we need a different option up front. Someone with a bit of muscle and power, less of a technical player who can bully defences and finish off all these well crafted moves up the pitch. 1 new striker in Jan please.

I heard it was the same as normal... zooming up to their defence, and then playing one two's to find a threaded ball, or long shots.

Big striker needed... I hear it's going to be Iaquinta... then i woke up! he he

seriously thought, udinese are looking to get rid of him in Jan... could be a good possibility. He bossed the Panathainaikos defence in the fist game of the champ league.

Money, no money no chelsea.

At the moment it's no money no Chelsea football club, without Henry Arsenal are still at top 3 football club just less clinical. Without Money Chelsea would go under!

People also need to take into account that we're trying to adjust without Paddy and against West Ham we lost Henry, Pires and Bergkamp which is a lot of experience and not many teams could cope with losing 4 players of that quality (Unless they had an endless pot of money!)

One man team bullsh*t is what every Arsenal fan has grown accustomed to over the years.

Ian Wright? One man team.

Dennis Bergkamp? One man team.

Nicolas Anelka? One man team.

Patrick Vieria? One man team.

Thierry Henry? One man team.

What's the betting for "Fabregas? One man team." in say 2007? Or maybe Quincy? :p

come to think about it, Chelsea were close to being bankrupt before Abramovich invested his millions...before abromovich took over in the summer of 2003, all chelsea got was one measley free transfer from a then relegated Sunderland....remember jurgen macho

I couldnt say Henry is needed. He just gives you moments of brilliance. But its Arsenal as a whole that make the team play such a positive style.

But IMO, Vieira was the man who held it together. Just wait a few months and you'll see...

It's gonna be a rough ride for you guys till January, that's for sure. What are your expectations for the season? Happy with a top 4? Or do you really think you can push for second?

I see no reason why we can't push for second? Man Utd are hardly setting the world alight and Liverpool have become draw specialists.

I wouldn't be suprised if we were up there pushing Manu come May.

When we get all our injuries etc out of the way there is no reason why we shouldn't be competing for at least 2nd. I think we'll have at least 1 new signing in January, hopefully someone we know rather than some 14 year old from a former Soviet republic.

We need more than 1 new signing.

As far as i'm concerned we need a big out&out striker, A centre-mid with respect, A right back (Lauren is not good enough), And a keeper (if the defence have confidence in the keeper it makes their job easier, Lemon makes 2 clangers a game)

Why does Wenger not see this. Arsenal have been clocked, we play the same way every much, nothing new, we overplay it in the final third. Wenger has too much confidence in this system, he should put his pride aside and accept that its nowhere near as effective as it was 2/3 yrs ago. We're already 11 points behind Chelsea and I don't see them dropping 10 or more points.

We'll probably lose to ManU again cause they know how to play us. As for Ajax...a draw would be brillant. o dear.

This is the first time in a long time i've come into a season not expecting anything from Arsenal.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, we need about 3 new players. But being realistic I don't think Wenger will splash out come Jan. The first 11 is strong but we lack depth compared to other top teams. Eventually we will need a new centre back as Campbell ain't no spring chicken and of course we need a long term successor to Lehman in nets.

I personally think Ralf is up to the job. Quite a few people have criticised him of late but he's a good dribbler, crosses well and above all he's experienced. He's not the best defender in the league but there are few decent right backs in the Prem full stop. He links well with the attackers and I think he would be hard to replace in today's market.

Priority has got to be a new option upfront. We have a lot of talented forwards but Reyes, Van Persie and Quincy are essentially very similar players; technical, light, quick and tricky. We need a big bruiser (Baptista? :().

Yeah your right, ;) priority is a big out-&out striker, cause we need something different when plan A does not work. But Defending as a unit is all so a problem and is not helped by the likes of Lehman or/and Alumnia.

Right COME ON THE ARSENAL. lets thump that dutch team. :lmao:
