England and Russia should be banned from the tournament. or at least have the matches played without fans...

close the stadiums, let only women and kids in...

this happend in Turkey some time ago in club football between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray fans...only women and kids got in, they usually don´t start riots..

as said i feel sick seeing these images of these idiots, pure idots...

i feel sad for the normal fans who earn money to enjoy this tournament and the country...

there SHOULD be consequences, it´s unacceptable..

if they allow this, imagine Russia 2018...
 
Massive overreaction. The teams are in no way responsible for the fans. Arrest people and ban them, that's all.

Marseille is a city that's like this and there loads of English fans who are banned everywhere in England but come over for this.

From what I'm reading French cops can't be bothered.

I don't really mind it either way. If they want to fight, let them. The narrative now however is that poor, innocent England fans are being attacked by Russians, when that isn't even 100% true.

Joining the army only means you're fighting as a puppet. It's quite clear that kids weren't around, you'd be incredibly naive to bring your kids to Marseille for a football match of any kind.

That link you posted is all you need to know about how the media want to jump on anything they can get their hands on, as it appears as though it was a French woman who commited suicide.
 
but this is EURO, not just any kind of match... you can´t excuse this, not in international tournament that is suposed to be safe for everyone..

about the link, it might be, but that doesn´t change what was happening in the town for three days prior to the match.
 
UEFA should've moved the match to a different city. Marseille is very hard to control (especially with incompetent police as was on show).

I think it does change something. If there aren't any serious injuries to anyone I don't think it's as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. Both parties know full and well what they're doing and not backing off, so let them go at eachother if they want to, won't really lose anything of value in that. Obviously leave innocent people out of it.

I could not care less if they kill each other if they want to, but not inside stadium and not mixing up with locals in city among other people, which lead to injury´s and destroyed city for days now.. police should control this, it is a big blow to the whole tournament and for people living in the city as well as normal fans who realy went to see matches and not this shit..

30+ people are in hospital, 2 critical and maybe hundrets who ended up like this bystanding person..

I'm not disputing the fact that they shouldn't mix in innocent people like I said. If I were police I'd just focus on getting locals and innocent people out of the mix, instead of trying to break up fights.

First of all this sentence is prof that there is abig problem, that should not be tolerated.
Second, you use the same technique as racists: generalisation.

Everything about football in Marseille is wrong.

Why exactly should (male) England fans be barred from the stadium? It was the Russian fans who invaded the England end.

It's just a figure of speech, but there is plenty to show that would back that up. Countless incidents in Marseille both inside and outside of the stadium, every single season.

I never said all cops were imcompetent. I said imcompetent cops were acting, but I never said all of them were. And you can't really dispute what I said if you look at the clips posted on the internet where people who were just out sitting and having a drink got sprayed by tear gas as a form of collateral damage. The only reason this is even a newsitem is due to the fact that French police couldn't get anyone under control. Just look at how few arrests where made, relatively speaking. Lastly, look at what happened in the ground apart from the fights. Fireworks and small bombs where smuggled in and lit, whilst the organisation for the tournament was supposed to be on high alert due to terror threats.

For such statement you need to have prove, that is first.. and im not on anyone side btw. In a mass of hundrets - thousands people to single out who started is childish, it was a fault of French authorities to not prevent this outcome, giving the fact English and Russian fans have a history of similar behaviour in past...

second, English fans were making trouble in the town for 3 days prior to the match, i´m not saying Russians were not, but i follow English media mostly who covered the situation in town prior this match and it was sick..

This should have been dealt with from French Police side very strictly, but somehow it was not... these people should been taken and not allowed to enter the stadium, but clearly the French police is short on this groups of people...

tensions were high as both national anthems were booed and it all went to shit after the final whistle..
