The Movies Thread

Finally got round to watching Casino Royale last night, what a waste of time that was. Boring. Lots of pointless far-fetched action. The plot was poor. Oh dear. Was looking forward to it as well.

Also watched 30 Days of Night. Not as bad as C.R. but again, pretty boring.

I think Casino Royale is excellent and a return to form for the franchise.

I Am Legend was alright. Couldve been much better, but then theres only so much you can do with one person on the screen. The driving bit at the start was trully terrible.

Cloverfield is on my radar.

Here is a stat - on December 10 Amazon.co.uk sold 950,000 copies of The Bourne Ultimatum!

I am going to watch Scorsese's latest "masterpiece" tonight. He has always been my favourite director. I can't wait.

I'm not a big movie person - as a matter of fact I hate most TV and film - but the Bourne trilogy was spectacular. I'll watch anything similar to that that's supposed to be good, and that Departed film looks half-decent. I think I'll rent that soon, cheers Plan M.

I didn't know there was an original, I might try and get hold of that instead.

Don't mind subtitles and that, I love the John Woo films as well.

Jack I have a feeling you'd love The Departed mate. Scorsese is an amazing director, he really gets the best out of his cast.

Ditto, its two and a half hours long but you don't feel it.

The Departed was awesome. It was a seamless movie (if thats the correct word). I would also recommend "The Machinist". It's an amazing experience.

I saw the last ten minutes or so of The Departed before the rest (don't ask, so I thought it was gonna be another 2 hours of finerals!

Quality flick though.

Nah The Departed is alot better IMO...

and based on actual events...

the character Nicholson plays is based on a the 2nd most wanted guy on the FBI wanted list after Osama...

Whitey Bulger..

There is also a series on FX called Brotherhood about the same story...

Finally watched the Departed last night - AMAZING film. Really impressed. If you haven't seen it yet go and rent/buy it. :)

I just watched I Am Legend today.I thought they could do a bit more with the storyline and the ending somehow felt premature.

The Departed was awesome, watched it twice at the cinemas.Great plot, great action.

I wanna know how the woman and the kid managed to survive the blast from that grenade in I am Legend, they barely even closed the door on the little hidey-hole, and the blast probably took out half of Manhattan by the looks of it!

Sorry people ;)
