The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim [All Platforms]

Went a bit mad last night and spent about 7 hours in Skyrim. 43 hours in now, went from level 25 to 35 and have 100 smithing with all the perks and 100 sneak. Smithed myself a full set of Daedric Amour(Legendary), Daedric Bow(Legendary), Daedric Sword(Legendary), Daedric Greatsword(Legendary) and Daedric Dagger(Legendary). My Daedric Dagger when combined with all my apparel that gives a boost to one handed and backstab along with the 15x backstab damage perk does 1440 damage.
I have pretty much ruined the game for myself. If anyone is thinking about using the smithing exploit, DONT. I did the Greaybeard quest after doing all that and it was not fun, I was not exploring because I can make any weapon I like and I have no reason to look for anything. The little bit of excitement I got from searching bodies and chests is gone. Also it is ridiculously easy to kill now, my sneak of 100 means I can sneak up on everyone and my Daedric dagger kills with one hit, so does my Daedric bow. I am going to try it on the hardest difficulty which will hopefully provide a bit more challenge(one the 2nd hardest at the moment), but at the moment I feel like I have cheated myself and the game :(.

Hahaha, cheaters never prosper!

Although you could just not use the dagger or other exploits and continue to play using other weapons/means of sneak.

Yeah I never thought of that. I will be rich after selling all my Daedric stuff, infact for stuff like the Armour I wouldnt know where to go to find someone that could afford it! It has a value of 8000, the full set of armour and the sheild must be getting on for 20000.

I tried to overthrow the Jarl of Whiterun after powering up soo much. Killed all the guards and his wizard but the Jarl, his Steward and 2 of his bodyguards were immortal. Bit dissapointed by that, but after thinking about it maybe they are integral to the story line.

Completed the College of Winterhold quests. Nothing too taxing. Took down another dragon priest on the way in one quest. 3 arrows in sneak mode.

What's really great is the fact that enemies stay dead and remain where they were killed. I returned to a dungeon I tackled on my first day and the bandits are still there. Dead.

Also, just before bed last night, I decided to do "one more quest" (fucking game). I went for killing the bandit leader at Nilheim. I set off on my travels to find this place, and before I'd even got the location identifier up to say discovered, a message came up on the screen telling me the bandit leader was dead, the quest was completed and I had to return to get my reward. Turns out when I did get to Nilheim a group of guards had already killed him. Absolutely incredible how the game world continues without you if you aren't in the area.

Stat wise, I've currently got 8 main/side quests active and over 30 miscellaneous. I haven't even started several factions, including Imperials, Stormcloaks, Vampires, Dark Brotherhood. What a game this is. I've certainly got my money's worth that's for sure. Over 100 hours in now.

The game is indeed fucking incredible. i've joined Imperials and done a few quests with them.

planning to attack the Imperials myself and take control after they tried to execute me at the beginning of the game.

I picked this up today brand new for just £22. I don't know why but everyone is selling this for a reduced price. Can't wait to play it.

Oh and a very handy tip for those that haven't completed or started Alduin's Wall quest along the main story:

Once you get to Karthspire looking for the Sky Haven Temple and help Delphine and Esbern kill all the Forsworn bandits, don't enter Karthspire cavern. Delphine and Esbern will continue to follow you as they are part of that quest. So you can do other quests and leave that one alone, giving you two additional followers (you can still have a normal follower too). The added bonus of having these two is that not only can they handle themselves very well, but they are also Immortal, as they are crucial to a main quest.

Cheat, glitch, exploit or just clever planning? Regardless, once you complete Alduin's Wall main quest you lose this ability. You'll obviously pick up less XP too as they'll be taking the spoils quite often.

Started playing it earlier, loved it but I'm useless as it's the first Elder Scrolls game I've ever played. Managed to get myself arrested, then get arrested again while trying to get my stuff back, then had a go at a giant before realising I shouldn't really do that when on level one and ended up running across the plains with said giant hot on my heels....

The more you level up the more you learn and become accustomed to. It's very addictive. I'd probably say it's the best single player game I've played. 110 hours in now, level 44 and still so much to do.

Just got my 3rd Dragon Priest mask on my travels. Found a temple called Ragnvald which is just north east of Markath. Think the priest was called Otar. His mask wasn't good enough to make me remove the mask of Krosis, but 5 more to go.

What type of combat do you two specialise in to be overpowering enemies? I went the two handed route trying to build a Conan (Schwarzenegger not the new pussy) style brute and I am thinking its not such a wise choice. I have my two handed around 60 and loads of perks but when I face a group of 3 or more Drugar I am getting my ass kicked. I am 30 hours in and around level 25, yet to do the Greybeard quest, I think it may be time to switch focus or I will struggle later on.

It's all about tactics, I'm playing the game on hardest mode since the day I bought it and I died couple of times and most of that was in the beginning...

I also use two-handed quite a lot, level 96 now... It's perfect for striking on 1, 2 foes, but do not involve in more than that...
If there are more opponents, make sure to leave some of them to your followers while you fight 1 by 1... I have Daedric Warhammer with 400 damage + 30 burn damage but still I have troubles fighting bandits and bosses, specially mages... I have to combine both restoration, destruction and shouts along with two-handed and follower ^^

All in all, game is superb, I am level 48 now and still quite a lot to do... haven't even come close to Greybeards :P

Also is it me or do Draugr Deathlords have some superpowered shout which can kill you ? lol, I swear I've seen my followers flying to death(one of which had fully improved Daedric armour that I used to wear) by their shouts lol, even I died few times like that and I have 400 HP along 800 armour 0o...

When you find hidden caves and dungeons do you literally just go exploring in the woods etc and stumble across them? I need some stuff like this to level myself up. I'm not confident fetching the dragon object (first main mission I think) while still on level 1!

The compass will show you where stuff is LT, little icons will appear on it and get bigger as you get closer. Keep an eye on it when you are walking around. If you want to level up I would suggest that you speak to everyone you meet, alot of them will have little quests for you and they often reward with weapons and other goodies.

I got the game on the PC, do you guys recommend using keyboard/mouse or a controller? Can use either PS2/PS3 controller but don't have an Xbox one.

Use what you're used to, these days I'm so used to using a 360 controller from playing on the 360 I find it more comfortable to use even for PC games such as Skyrim :)

I have it for the PS3, not noticed anything trivial, but haven't played it much.

Although I am on it now and just feel bored, find the combat boring. Think I will go ahead and trade it in, cash or trade in. Although I am stuck for ideas what to do for trading it in for.

Does rebooting solve the ridiculous slowdown I experience? If so what causes the game to crawl along after 30 mins?
