PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

Thats wierd. If he is not in Parma squad, If you goParma/add player/ advanced player search, type "Gervinho", it says result "1 player found" and when you press go, it says no player found then his ID is someway registerd to Parma and it is a bug.
have you tried this yourself? i will give it a go tonight

Nope.i not at home, don’t have the latest live update.
This is how it works universally when you advance search a player that is already in your squad .I usually do this to check for duplicates.

you can always spotify..., if you like the songs! ;)
"i'm da man..." :D
but hey... thats konami i guess.

btw: been playing a lot with normal shooting these days (still manual passing on -1/prof.) and i enjoy it. i am putting so many hours in 2019... i must like it.
only thing that really is getting on my nerves (now) is the high or mid high perfect finishes by the AI. these really need to go. no permanent LCS is cool, attacking variety is ok(ish), but these clinical finishes need to go!! if they at least attempted to play a few low shots... man... they do the mid high curler from time to time... but its not enough. simple low shot with the inside of the boot. gimme that! please! :)
besides that, i do enjoy this game a hell of a lot!!! manual shooting really hides some awesome animations and as keepers are better in 2019 i guess i'll stick with regular shooting.

played Arsenal vs. Renne last night 3 times! lovely matches!
played Flamengo vs. River Plate 2 times! same here! enjoyed it a lot!

there is so much stuff, animations and game play procedure wise, i really really like!

btw: have to come back to this one topic again because i enjoyed it so much last night. single man and/or team pressure is such an awesome tool in this years version! leaving your players in their prefered positions, not switching to the player who's next to the ball atm, pressuring with one guy or the team... it is just awesome. you can force the AI to do stuff... its so nice!
i just cant remember the analogy i head in mind last night. it was perfect!
edit: its not the one from last night but another one came to my mind. its like playing racing games and doing a heel&toe move. or driving a cart and keeping one foot on gas and one on the brake pedal the same time. kinda like that! :)
thing is: if you master it, its such a weapon!! i use it as little as i move player out of position with sprinting or sprinting itself! and its important to know when to do it and and with how many players (including what you do with you player at stick)!! no other game has this so deeply and good included, imo! in fact, i'm missing this stuff when playing the other game a lot!

I had to drop the difficulty to TP and playing on basic shooting now and Im finding the best BS in years! I was trying to play with Fullhan since yearterday. Get smashed four time by five goals. All pratically the same. Low crosses from the right side. Fullham plays with 3 CB on default formation.

Then I change all the formation, trying to close the gaps, setting four defenders and spreading them all but covering the center. I set the team play defensively, one bar below the center. I shut them off and manage to score 3 goals in variaded ways. I was playing against Leicester.

Simetimes setting your team is mandatory just like PES 2018. It was very very fun despite the looses. Starting to like this game very much.

Some of my goals in FUMA
:P
:APPLAUD:
to the first video: in germany i would say: "mit dem Mut der Verzweiflung"!
maybe in english you could say: "with the courage of dispair"! i dont know for sure! ;)
you wanted that freaking ball behind the line no matter what, i see that!

and that ronaldo goal... man, what a nice pass (did you use L1+triangle or regular high cross (maybe with R2 to lift it up more?)), and that angle when ronaldo finally hits it! short corner! what a bomb!!!

the last one is funny, yeah. always happy when i see "new scenes"!

oh man, i wish i had the mood and time to edit some of my 86GB PES video footage! when guys like you post videos i always want to upload my footage immediately! :D

In this case personnaly I use the L1 triangle :l1::triangle:
the regular high cross :circle: are too strong for this style of pass or need a very delicate touch (Thx to my teammate "Vanished")

Good luck with the 86GB :CONFUSE:

thats it. but to me, triangle and L1 is "to easy", a cheap method kinda. ;) its like putting the ball into goal using R2 all the time. you get me.
sure i use it from time to time but i forced myself to dig deeper with high crosses. it is possible to do short lobs with the regular pass button, but as you said, its a very delicate touch. to me this is kind of a challenge (like playing manual passes). i mix it with L1 for mid high crosses or R2 for more height. nothing better than those high but short crosses. or when counter attacking and i switch sides midfield by hammering an L1 high cross with full power to the other side where my winger is sprinting! those mid high crosses can look insane!
its a gameplay features i see not a lot people are using. there is so much stuff possible... i could go on for hours! love my PES! :D
btw: when playing in my own half around the back and i need to switch sides, i use L1 high crosses a lot because they are faster than regular high crosses or lobbed ones (R2).
another example: when i want to get the ball to my front striker but he is man-marked by the AI, i play a mid high cross (L1) from the midfield to the striker. this prevents the defender from heading away the ball while climbing my strikers back, because the ball is traveling only 1 meter or 1,5 meter in height! they look and feel wheighty too. again: love my PES for THAT!!! :)
edit: for the R2 lobbed high crosses: they tend to not move that fast forward as they come from bigger height (reference to golf here/see flop shot). they are not only usefull when trying to find a tall header specialist like Dzeko or Giroud, they are an alternative to L1+triangle short passes you want to lob for only 5-15 meter.

Thank you very much PRO_TOO, next time I try L1+ High cross in training mode
I use L1 triangle, but maybe because I always use it in the PES series (event when I play in Auto, 5 or 6 years ago I think) and it's like a bad reflex.

thx again !

You’re welcome mate!! :)
Yeah do that. Try it in practice mode and see all that stuff that can happen.
I get that: I have my bad habits too. :)
Used to always play that R2 low shot at goal so the keeper couldn’t reach it on ps2. I wasn’t playing manual back then.

Now, I rarely use L1+triangle. You could say I forgot a little about it.

When does Konami tend to release updates after the transfer window?

I presume it will be sometime in February or will it be bloody June knowing them, I presume that update though is the one that will have Celtic Park and Ibrox stadiums in?

A freaking whole six months after the hype and marketing crap went down, friggin bunch of cheats and vagabonds so they are.

question to all of you.
who can remember that old japanese (as far as i remember) PES (could be winning eleven) commercial where there are fans in the stands holding up paper signs with with playstation buttons on it; giving the field players instructions on what to do next!?
i was looking for that video this morning and could not find it. maybe someone can help. i wanted to post it here and some other forum... just for the sake of good old times! :D
thx!

Fef I applied the latest updates in ps4 and Gervinho is in Parma untouched. He is one position over .
what do you mean one position over? is he in the game with live update turned off?

also any idea when we will get next data pack with all winter transfers?

Yesterday I found out that J-League D1 and D2 are in the PES 2019 mobile game (but not in the console version).

Today, I've just read that rumours are intensifying that they'll be included in the next update for consoles. May well be false, but interesting.

Why would they be on mobile and not on console? They both require the same rights, seeing as the mobile game is a fully-fledged 3D game.

In the POV you see the player list when you go inside team screen in edit/register.After the preview.
The preview screen is cosmetic,it sorts players based on teams formation,in the last screen they are sorted by default based on the changes you have made.
Ok despite all the above,in my OF with official teams being untouched by me he is in the starting 11,after applying all DLC and live updates.
But I believe you should have him in Parma too cause he is not a player “added by live update” only anymore, he is established by DAtapack.
The only try I didn’t make is see if he appears in Parma in friendly match with LiveUpdate off.On the rest, edit mode, online,Master league he is in.

Different licensing rights. Pes 2020 mobile will also have Bundesliga, but that won't be in Pes 2020 console.

That's a bummer. I thought licensing for gaming was all about the difference between image rights etc. if it was a 3D representation including faces, and none if it's a management-style game (e.g. Football Manager) that is generic models (and/or 2D).

Would be great to start a career in J-League D2...

Just hope they will not repeat the old Thai-League trick! :P

For me the manual L1 crosses (regular, double-tap low and high R2) can produce some great looking passes... You can do so much with the ball, but the player switching very often cocks it up...

Whatever you do, it seems immediately switch to the furthest player forward, usually one in a central position... Means you can't really play them out wide to a winger, down the line, switching from RB to LB/LM etc unlesss you can switch players in time that the recipient hasn't killed the momentum of their run and/or ignored the ball.

Related to long passing generally, I fucking hate the "weighted pass" player trait that makes all their long balls slow and floaty. It's even worse because this trait is usually given to the best passers... I can honestly play better manual long balls with random CBs without the trait than with supposed world class playmakers.

Ah yes. Double tap is an option too.
I use it when it’s really crowded in the pen area. I got lucky a few times when the AI stumbled it in. :)
I see some nice animations from skilled passers when going through all (a lot) of the passing gameplay mechanics that are possible.

I don’t have that problem. I play on semi assisted player switching. When I switch sides I get the player who I targeted.
What’s great: when I do a quick turn before playing that long ball or I am off balance in some way, the ball gets slower off my feet not reaching the target. Combine that with my manual “skills” and damn... it looks like football! :)
But yes, player switching needs some polish. It works for me, only a few times I got fooled by it. I do mix L1 switching with RS switching, if that helps.

Edit: @ThomasGOAL trimmed some videos. Down to 50GB now!

Sometimes L1 or RS switching doesn't work because it's got your player already in "possession mode", so you need to super cancel (R1+R2) and try again. By the time that's done then often the ball is already on its way out for a throw, especially if it's a powerful pass.

My switching is on whatever the default is, though I don't think there are a lot of different options for it like there was on PS2 versions.

Anyway, Sorrentino was inspired that day. He was the man of the match.
