PES 2014 Bugs and Issues thread (PC, X360, PS3)

Basically any Alienware system runs the game like you're trying to play it with an entry level system from 10 years ago. Pathetic.

Allienwares are regular pc's with fancy expensive name :P .
Although i run game perfectly with my mediocore system, it could definitely benefit from better optimisation it seems.

Anybody can help me to explain this...

i play pes (and all the games) on my led tv (PC>HDMI>TV) and sometimes, ONLY when im playing pes my tv "reset" the image config, the effect is like when i change the tv's channel with different resolution.

It is like the tv re-adapt the config ONLY with PES, and when it does the gameplay changes, the animations, the transitions, the pad responses all work perfect. It is really strange. Sadly it is a random thing.

My config.
i7-8GB-ATI7970-W7/64bits

sorry for my english

Maybe your HDMI cable is broken. Sounds to me like the tv is loosing the signal for a short time. Does your TV support DVI? You could try to use this port, too.

This game seems to be very CPU dependent. Probably why people with old cards can run it quite nicely

Downloaded msi afterburner to check gpu usage and been shocked. On regular wide camera gameplay its only ~16%, gets to ~25% on goal kick and ~50 on cutscenes :D .

Yes, that's very similar to my findings using Radeonpro's OSD. If it wasn't for replays, cut-scenes and any camera angle that shows the crowd, I think this game could run without a GPU. Almost. :))

So to update on my input lag problem:

By using Catalyst Control Center and settings pes2014.exe to NOT use triple buffering or vsync, and using the RadeonPro app to set Flip Queue Size to 0 (install app, open, select the "global" switch top right-ish, then "advanced tab"), and playing on Medium detail level in the settings.exe

I now have very little input lag. What very little is left (compared to the xbox 360 demo) I would be willing to chalk up to consoles simply being absolutely optimized in every respect for low latency input.

I think it was the Flip Queue Size change that did it. I had played yesterday with all other settings as they are now, and still had bad input delay.

Anyone with Radeon cards should try this and report aswell.

Great, Iv'e gotten similar results myself just by setting flip queue size to 0 and ignoring vsync and triple buffering. I still canr force it to off though, i get terrible screen tearing choppiness if i do. But for now, I'm pretty content until if/when Konami decide to fix their game

Same issues here with response times.

Really slow and sluggish. Players take an eternity to turn, power bar takes a second or so to power up, player switching is slow. Heading and first time shots are impossible because of the lag. It's really ruined the game, which is a shame because you can tell it's going to be great if these issues get fixed

The more I play it, the more bugged the game becomes :(... lets start with MOST annoying shit.
Over the past several weeks, didn't we all talk about and warn each other about how the GKs in PES 2014 looked like they were still an issue? Why do people rush out and buy PES knowing this game's history. And why then post about how abysmal and shitty this that or the other thing is? We all know how crap this game has been for years now. Why didn't you just wait for the demo?

~Still waiting for the demo and reading impressions ~

Because demo wouldn't do any difference now. Actually, would probably make me not buy the game at all. For PC at least...

Right, and then nothing would be shitty and abysmal and things would be  In the past two weeks I've gone from thinking about pre-ordering, to pretty much thinking I'll be skipping PES this year, again.

Yep, you pay for the name with Alienware, and boy do you pay.

Yea but how about people with i7 4770k's? They still get stutters during cutscenes and replays:CONFUSE: It's ridiculous!

Still, when it clicks it is the best football video game ever... So dunno what to do now. Will wait for next KONAMI patch I guess...
My thoughts, more or less.
Now after trying the full game (although only for a couple of matches against a friend of mine who owns it, and a couple against the CPU) I must say that I was wrong... I actually like it!

Well, players are not really aware of what is happening aroud them at times (there are moments in which I feel like playing Virtua Striker 2), and keepers often perform saves just to concede stupid goals straight after especially when the ball is going straight to them (still, like VS2).

It happened to me a couple of times that the player got "locked" to his opponent (when they were shoulder-to-shoulder) and got brought off the pitch with the ball without me being able to pass/cross/get free from the lock.
Simply, my player who was on the short side of the box got challenged by an opponent that escorted him out of the pitch with the ball, resulting in me giving away a couple of goal kicks for nothing.
Well, that is annoying.

Other than that, I just feel passes are good even if they're not 100% free in my opinion (but it can be a good thing as it can also mean we're relying on stats here) but I don't like the way players sometimes still follow "rails" to be able to control a pass made at them (I mean that they run close to the ball even if I don't want them too and point the left stick elsewhere).

Also, LODs are unbalanced and way too conservative at times (especially in the tunnel before the match). I believe that on PC they can be handled way better if only Konami wants.

But, all in all, it's a very good game. I'll be waiting for the next Konami patches then probably I'll be buying it, maybe I'll make myself a Christmas gift (if I can resist until Christmas, of course).

Hi has anyone experienced "fail to load masterleague"? i try to play my saved game and allof a sudden it doesnt load. Im on PC version.

I changed some settings in Catalyst Center, (AA and AF, instead of application setting, chose values like 4X) and the crowd is not there anymore! Whether in the cutscenes or in gameplay. Anybody else experienced this?

If you force AA in CCC or radeonpro by selecting override applicaion settings it disables the crowd. You can set aa to "enhance aplication settings" and the crowd will be present.

Now i know what people mean with laggy cutscenes since i use different screen recording software. Everything runs at 60 fps, but definitely looks much lower.

Hey. Which gamepad are you using, and in which situations do you have problems?

hey mate. Im using the xbox 360 wireless controller on my pc. Maybe I am just really bad at this game. Especially it seems dribbling. I cant seem to shake a defender like in 2013 with speed burst and using tight control. I try using the right stick and it just seems to be too late... not sure if it is input lag or me be shit. I am have 360 version and waiting for this fucking data pack to downoad. O

On another note I have gamming dragons download and patch. Yet I apply patch and the statistics part does not show up. So I cant download data pack on pc. I installed in different directory then default so maybe that is why patch is not working. I love the pc graphics, but i will need to see if there is input lag.
I am really having a hard time scoring. But it is still quite addicting

Players are definitely not as limber and agile as in PES 2013.

If you want to check your Right Stick behavior, and if there is any lag, when not in possession of the ball (i.e. defending), hold the player select button (default LB) and move the right stick in various directions. You should see a line graphic on the pitch originating from the player currently being controlled, and moving in the direction you are pointing the right stick. As long as that is mirroring the movement you make with the right stick, all seems well on a technical level atleast.

As for right-stick dribbling, I find by far the best success in releasing the left stick, then holding the right stick in a direction I want to perform a feint, and then I wait until I actually want to perform the feint, at which point I will point the left stick in the direction I want the player to move after he does the feint.

Think of it as you "cocking" the feint mechanism by holding and not releasing the right stick, and when an opponent approaches and nears, you actually execute the feint, and move, by quickly also moving the left stick.

Works quite well, once you get used to the delay, and more skilled players have a pretty huge advantage over less-skilled players in how responsive they are and how quickly they can move the ball in certain situations. Some players are almost not worth trying skills with, they take longer to execute the feint than just moving normally.
