FIFA 19 Discussion (PC Version)

The honeymoon period is definitely over now..

It is so frustrating now..

The bugs are absolutely game breaking, changing the formation at random times during the game.
After the game starts, half time, after you make a substitution.

But my absolute main gripe with the game is the TIKA-TAKA.
Started a new career game as Exeter City, started the international tournament.
Played some Norweigen team I believe called Randers, they played TIKA-TAKA everytime they got the ball the game ended 3-3, and every goal they scored was unstoppable, but the worse thing was every pass was perfect first time TIKA-TAKA and they ended the game with 98% pass completion.
The next game was against Livorno, this time 3-0 up at half time cruising, my formation changes at half time and didn't notice till 3-2 and they came back for another 3-3 draw, every goal was inch perfect TIKA-TAKA and again they end the match with 95% pass completion.

There are so many issues with the game, which have now put me off until it is patched.

Crossing and headers are over powered, the CPU wins pretty much everything and when they cross the ball it ends up in the net 90% of the time.
Players can header the ball from the 6 yard box to into the opposition half from corners, this happens quite often.

I am so frustrated, I really did not expect TIKA-TAKA to return, thought they moved away from that after FIFA 16.
There was so much potential and so much to love in the first few games playing it, but now it is frustration and completely bug ridden to the point it is nearly unplayable and really difficult to enjoy when playing the AI.

That's disappointing, haven't experienced anything like that myself yet apart from the headers.

Do we have an agreed definition of what constitutes Tiki-taka by the way? There's a big difference between 1st time passes from the keeper all the way to the ST, and some one touch round the edge of the box, and again with that, my issues historically have been that you couldn't' defend it and the speed it happens, and less with the actual passes themselves.

Liverpool-related question: when they play in the Champions League, do they keep the Premier League font for names and numbers or do they have their own? I know United, City etc have their own in European games but just wondering whether PES's partnership prevents it for Liverpool?
Not sure if anyone's answered you yet, but unfortunately, the Champions League shirt fonts are the same as the clubs' league fonts.

Yeah, it's probably misleading to complain about tiki-taka. It's a valid way to play, with lots of short passing that involves maintaining possession. In fact i'd like to see more of that. A calmer cpu that not always blasts forward. Indeed the problem is a series of 4-5 or more super fast passes where no one has trouble controlling the ball and passing it on in the next millisecond. Most of the time the cpu is kind enough to stop this after 2-3 passes which is much more bearable, and there are rare moments when its worse than that and I don't even know what happened until I hit the replay button. You're right that the speed of the passes makes it feel worse than it is I think.

Everyone............I have a little treat for you all after having no luck the day before trying to use CE (Cheat Engine), I have managed to learn how to use CE this evening to give us all a fantastic BROADCAST Cam view (for the FIFA 19 Full/Trial version) using CE, checkout the screenshot below:-
downsized to upload it - Broadcast Cam FIFA 19 (Cheat Engine 6.8.1).jpg
I used some help that Fidel (from www.soccergaming.com, he is the grandmaster of these mods and hasnt got the Trial as yet) gave us on soccergaming.com for his FIFA 17 CE Camera mod to gain the knowledge I needed although I did have to take an alternative route slightly when it came to searching for the camera in memory (I had to do a text search for "gameplay_camera_settings_broadcast")

Please checkout my next post where I will show you the method I used to do this, as I said I got lucky and changed a few more settings in memory than I needed to, but I didnt see any issues in the game after it had changed to this view, other than a few glitchy graphics when the ball goes out of play...................so everyone, please let me know if this works/doesnt work for you.

This method has worked for me on each occasion after a few reboots since I worked out how to do this, so it wasnt a one-off lucky shot at this and it means most people should be fine to get this working.

Ok here is how I did it, please do the following to follow what I did:-

(for FIFA 19 Trial (Full) version only)

(I HAVE JUST REALIZED EA MIGHT SEE THIS AS A MODDING ATTEMPT FOR THOSE PLAYING MULTIPLAYER, OR EVEN WITH IT BEING ON TRIAL, SO PLEASE USE THIS MOD WITH CARE, IF THIS WORRIES YOU, PLEASE DONT BOTHER TO USE IT, I WONT TAKE ANY BLAME I AM ONLY GIVING THIS METHOD FOR THOSE WHO FEEL SAFE TO USE IT, EA SHOULD NOT CARE REALLY AS THIS IS ONLY A CAMERA MOD AND NOTHING ELSE WHATSOEVER, AND IF EA WOULD ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THE 1000'S OF PLAYERS OF FIFA WHO KEEP TELLING THEM TO SORT OUT THEIR PATHETICALLY LIMITED CAMERA ANGLES...)

load CE:- (Cheat Engine v6.8.1 the 64 bit version is what I used)

load FIFA 19 Full/Trial:- get the game into a match with Broadcast set as the cam mode. Now simply pause the game.

In CE:- load the "process" in CE, usually the lower in the list as the higher one is the FIFA 19 Play/GameSettings/Exit window that remains open when the game is running.

In CE:- choose "view memory"

In CE:- In the memory viewer go up to the search function, choose find memory, make sure the "text" option is chosen, and type in "gameplay_camera_settings_broadcast". Hit ok and it then loads up the section of memory where at the top right you will see "gameplay_camera_settings_broadcast_pos"

In CE:- Right click over any of the HEX address addresses in the left big section and choose "display type > float"

In CE:- Scroll up a few rows, and in the THIRD ROW above where the section starts with ".................Broadcasting/" simply double click on all 6 of the HEX addresses on that row, in the left big section, and type in "50", changing the contents for each of the 6 HEX addresses to show "50". (See below for the section I mean)

Addresses to change to 50.jpg

Back into FIFA 19:- Game is still paused so choose SETTINGS and get to the camera custom settings part, and leave height as it is as I cannot find the height setting yet, but for zoom................try moving that slider along and watch...........

Still in FIFA 19:- Go back into the ongoing match and nothing will have changed UNTIL the ball goes out of play..........and then the magic begins. If it looks horrendous, go back into the zoom settings again and try another setting...I highly recommend it is set to 9 although different stadiums seem to prefer different zoom settings using this CE method..........also, being as CE is still running, changing the 6 HEX address to 20, 25 or 30 can give smaller camera zoom increments, so feel free to play around with this. Hopefully this weekend I will find the height setting too.

(This camera mode only stays "alive" for the session you are in in FIFA 19, as apparently it will always be a different section of memory that is used each time, CE will always find the section needed each time to apply the "50" settings.)

** UPDATE **

I have just found the exact HEX locations, in relation to the text I searched for to find the correct array of bytes in memory, and you can see them circled here, yours should be in the same place in relation to being above the "gameplay_camera_settings_broadcast_pos" text on the right side (ZOOM's is 3 rows up, HEIGHT's is 11 rows up):-

index.php

For the height, my settings needed to be changed as follows within CE:-

CAMERA HEIGHT

6.026704435E-39

I changed it to 6.326704435E-39, this gave me lovely high up views looking down at the pitch, which is amazing to see when in BROADCAST cam)

CAMERA ZOOM

-1994181...

I changed it to be 15, unsure why it starts as -1994181 but it does, and 15 allows different and nice zoom amounts in the game.

In game, as an example I find Height 12 and Zoom 10 great for Parc de Princes, but the zoom can be taken right out and much further away...as well as the height now being able to be made even higher, and really low down too..........!

Game doesn't really release for another week. I think most of these bugs will be ironed out by then.

Yes but early access usually means early access to the final game (or very near to final), this year early access clearly means we got the beta version, which sucks because we all paid for this version, unlike the previous beta release.

....and last year the complete FIFA 18 folder was unchanged when the trial became the full retail release, just the .exe file for the "full" version was then run when loading the game.

However who knows if EA have packaged the .exe's with different gameplay...

Unless this is going to be another Fifa 10 year for EA there's going to need to be a significant amount of bug fixes just to get it up to retail standard in a few day's time.

Great work dazzer. Amazing cam and thanks for documenting the process so thoroughly! It's worth posting in the FIFA editing forum too I think, in its own thread, otherwise it will get buried here.

TIKA-TAKA to me is always accurate first time passing which lasts for a period of time and contains at least 10 passes.

It is not Barcelona TIKA-TAKA, but as close as a CPU can get to it.

So for instance the CPU will pass the ball all the way from defence to attack doing nothing but first time accurate passing.

I think I will try the game on Ultimate skill level and World Class to see if this is removed, but certainly if this is in the game this year, then I won't be playing it much, unless I play with sliders to try and reduce the CPU doing this with 1 and half star teams.

I've never seen that in any either game, ever. 10 1st time passes back to front leading to a goal.

Like I said my issue has been 1st time artificially sped up passes in the final third leading to a shot on goal. I thought that's what others were talking about as well.

It is ridiculous but at the end of the day on PC there's literally 18 million apps to record stuff with so plenty of replacements, I use AMD Relive personally and it works well.

Recording videos means you can't freely move the camera like before. It means there will be compression on the video. It also means there might few stutters here and there in the recorded video. It also means the video would be limited to the resolution you record it unlike old saved replays where you can render it in any resolution, framerate and camera.

It works, but it's far from being perfect.

In terms of the early access being a lot different to the final game... I personally very much doubt it.

I think it is what it says on the tin, early access to the final game. Yeah they will be some bug fixes with the controls not saving and tactics problems, but I very much doubt there will be big gameplay changes, if any.

Hi there is a way to remove the sepia color shiting !? want all night match with champions leagues colors night !

Hi there is a way to remove the sepia color shiting !? want all night match with champions leagues colors night !

That’s the first thing community should focus on. I need to double check it in the DB if there is nothing related to regionalization colours once game is released.

Played a couple of more games today.

It was only using my rubbish UT players unfortunately so couldnt get a real insight into quality players and teams.

Anyway from what I played in these couple of games:

The good for me are:
It isn't that easy to ping pong pass, I have tried it a few times and the ball has gone straight out of play.
The AI in general is good, this has always been in FIFA really but coming from PES it's nice that if you give the AI space on wing they will knock the ball down the line to utilise that space. AI also misses chances, scuffed a couple of chance I expected them to score or at least get it on target.
The game speed also is a lot better than I originally thought, it is quite a good game speed overall but can sometimes feel a little fast.

The bad for me:
The perfect moments. There has been a few times now where the AI (seen it when people playing online to) that players will curl one in top bin when really they shouldn't be able to. Often it's a first time finish and when it goes in you just kind of think 'oh really?' Their body position and angle isn't suited to what actually happens. This ties in with my next issue though, the AI performing a particular move in the space of a second, a player can sometimes take a silky touch and smash it top corner in super fast time, there isn't any transition between the two movements, it feels like it happens so fast and appears quite unnatural.

Overall I am on the fence with FIFA 19. I can't help but compared it with PES as I have boguht PES this year and I can only play one football game, don't know how people manage to play 2 lol. So I am trying to work out which is better. PES big advantage is the ball physcis, they are pretty much spot on, the ball bounces, feels like it's own entity, whereas on FIFA 19 the ball feels like it glides all over the pitch, and through balls stop like the ball is really heavy. FIFA however has a lot better AI in every way really, attacking is more varied and realistic, and the defenders have some intelligence about them and throw themselves at the ball. PES AI is very one dimensional in attack and the defensive AI can be very passive.
I think there is a lot of little touches that makes FIFA19 a lot better than previous versions, the first touch, the mistakes, the 50/50 battles. But a lot of these can go unnoticed in a typical game, when the pace picks up and things just seem to happen really fast.
I think if I slowed it down (in game slider?) it would feel a lot better and more tactical, and this is something I may do offline leagues and such. But I do like UT, so a part of me doesn't want to get used to a slower game speed.

I played some games of FUT (division rivals), they change the p2p system for dedicated servers... but in my "area" there is no one near server... so, the most daily thing to do in FUT for me It became a lag show, and talking to my rivals, europeans and northe american most of them, when I was having a terrible lag... They was playing with perfect connection... So unffair.

ps: the ping bars are always at top.

Thanks for that Bendit, can you let me know if this worked for you? And if so, do you agree that the game transforms massively and that the game just feels much better from a higher angled Broadcast view?

I have created a new thread in the FIFA editing forum too.

Legendary..

Have not tried any others as yet, but might try World Class and Ultimate.
Can't go any lower as on Professional it is an absolute breeze and win every game by at least 4 goals.

Gah started a player career but the squads options were either download latest or default, no option for current customised? They set Sheffield Wednesday with this really stupid 532 formation that we never even used when we played 3 at the back and for the last 4-5 games we've been playing a back 4, wanted to do a player career until they fix regular career stuff but not sure I can with this horrible default formation!

Matt's beta sliders are out. Much better gameplay now and none of this tiki taka nonsense. Also, more tackles flying in.

Hello guys, just have a question...I am playing on pc on windows 10 and I have 4k and hdr switched on already. Every time I am switching on Fifa 19 the hdr is switching on just for a second and instantly switching off and it is still 4k but no hdr then. Anyone who know how to fix this ?

I noticed the squads were updated yesterday.

I love the new Exeter team, our Goalkeeper coach is in the game as a keeper.
He's not bad either.
