Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

I have some questions but most of them won't probably be answered on a gameplay test since they are more related to extra-field content:

1 - Will there be more camera angles or, better, customizable camera?

2 - Will there be more options for stadium edition, like editing sideline banners?

3 - Will there be a 2nd division for all leagues, or at least for the non full-licensed leagues?

4 - Will we be able to play exibithion with libertadores teams?

5 - Any south american league in the game this year?

6 - Any feature from previous PS2 version is back? (like kit parts choosing, referee choosing, stadium attendence choosing)

7 - How is the rain effect this year? Does it affect gameplay more than in 2011? Is the rain more realistic?

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

Actually I'm play testing PES 2012 this Saturday 16th. I will try to come back with as many answers as possible.

How many people here are going to this PESRanking event btw?

Good man, Thankyou.

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

I can't believe how much I'm enjoying PES2011 but there's always room for improvement, so............

1. Does the keeper still dive and miss the ball when a deflected shot trundles towards him?

2. Is it still too easy to win aerial challenges in the middle of the park eg from goal kicks by doing absolutely nothing?

3. Are free kicks given more regularly like in PES2011 demo?

4. Are the silly acrobatic volley animations slowed down

5. Do net styles vary at different stadia?

6. Do keepers still walk through the nets?

I'm sure I'll think of more next time I play PES but that's all for now.

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

ive made some videos while playing today of the things that are annoying me from pes 2011,il post them up tomorrow and will also have some questions for the playtest

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

1) The new video shows a lot of different types of off-ball-movement (overlap/dummy run/diagonal run).

- Can these run types be turned on/off on specific players? Or are they completely automatic?

- Most of these runs types are forward/attacking runs, are there different ones where you can ask forward players to drift back for support (for possession game or triangulation)?

- Does the AI do a good job at bringing players back for support, once they engage in dummy runs up the field?

2) What is the "change preset tactics(select+circle)" here (see top right)? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_kW1qHCixUI/Te9TIgIi4iI/AAAAAAAAAZk/AUXX5kEKunA/s1600/PES2012-Controls.jpg

3) Are link feints still limited to front/back/L/R? (would prefer diagonal directions actually...more intuitive for some moves)

4) Is the manual pass modifier (L2+X) still available?

5) Are short passes still unreasonably quick and accurate when a passer tap X with their back facing the recipient of the pass?

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

Couple of questions:

1) Will the new features relating to A.I. be influenced by tactics options (e.g. do you need to set your tactics up with high player support and wide build ups to see what the video's showed or will adjusting those sliders increase/decrease the effect of the new A.I.)?

2) Have been playing some FIFA world cup and noticed some good things about shooting that PES should learn from. Despite the tendency of people to overuse the finesse shot, I did realise that ball & body position seem to have a noticeable effect on the accuracy and power of the shot you get off. However, where the ball leaves the boot is where FIFA has it over PES.

For example, hitting a shot off balance/under pressure will see the ball will travel wide (but at goal height and normal pace rather than the PES balloon). Underhitting it will see the ball go straight to the keeper or bounce to the keeper or wide. Overhitting it can make it skew off wide or over the bar. But the position of the ball compared to the angle of the foot always results in an accurate ball trajectory. So it might swerve inwards, dip, go straight, or swerve away. THIS is what PES needs to get right.

I think they get the stat/positioning/form/weak foot side of things fairly correct, but the end result when the ball leaves the foot doesn't always give a realistic outcome in terms of ball trajectory/animation.

Re: Evo-web's (possible) PES 2012 Playtest Questions thread

Is it still possible to totally snuff out patient attacking play by just mashing the pressure buttons and swamping the player on the ball?

(Please say no.)

Also, add me to the list of people wanting to know about the stamina / fatigue. If people sprint-press your team for 45 minutes, while you patiently stroke the ball around, are they any more tired than you are in the second half?

(Please say yes.)

An update for all. The playtest is happening. Got the green light today and will be invited for a playtest sometime next week. So please, keep the questions coming.

I'll make sure I'll do my very best :)

-There will be J league licensed?
-There is a proper way to direct swerve?
-Can we move team from a league without replacing it?
-How many stadiums can we create? Is there anymore parts?
-Are there 32 directions to move?
-Are there animations for tired players?
-Are there different goalposts?

Thank you and good luck

- do the players stil run automatic towards the bal even if we dont want them 2 do we need 2 use supercancel everytime this happens

- if u do a 1-2 pass in pes2012 will the player who gives the pass run on rails like 2011 and u cant control him until he stops?

- how are the R2 shots, in pes2011 its way 2 easy 2 score with r2 shot

- can u test stamina of players, did was not present in pes2011

- can u test manual keeper

- do the keepers still have that invisibile wall around them
(players cant come close 2 keeper with lose balls)

- freekicks again is the invisibile wall still there

- slidetackels are way 2 powerful in pes2011 is this changed

- does the kickoff trick work

- how are triple tap low crosses, do players still run in their own goal

Are they going to alter freekicks so that they are based on player skill rather than luck?

Freekicks in PES6 were fantastic, if you had the right player and got the power exactly where you wanted it then you would be rewarded 90% of the time. Since then this system has been replaced with pot luck where whenever the power bar is somewhere in the middle the ball will either crash into the wall, go in or go flying over.

The system seems broken and it is bizarre whenever you play the AI and they are able to convert 75% of freekicks in scoring opportunities.

Also is there any chance of a scenario mode in the near future?

Freekicks are a skill Badger, and the system currently in play is all I've ever known. I honestly, 100%, dont get where you keep coming from with this statement. I can bend, dip the ball from anywhere on the pitch. I can smack them, float them, dink them, everything. I consider myself a FK specialist, and if I get all the variables right, I can put the ball anywhere I want. Check my videos in the video thread, there is every type of FK you could imagine, with a very, very high level of consistency.

What was the system you used on PES 6, and what are you doing now ?

Gameplay:

1. How is the chip shot this year, does the ball still loop too low like in PES 2011?

2. Is there more variance with the height of the lofted through ball? (L1 + :triangle:)

3. How are first touches this year? Hopefully they aren't all perfect

4. How is the tackling. Is pressure effective in relevance to stamina and how easy or difficult it is to tackle?

5. How fluid are the tricks?

6. Any new tactic settings?
New strategies?

7 Injuries, are there more injury animations. Stretchers coming onto the pitch? Injuries start off light then get worse over time in not taken off?

Other Stuff:

8. How are the crowds this year? Is there a Crowd attendance selector like back in the PS2 days? IS the crowd at 100% full attendance every game like in 2010, 2011? Do the crowd wave huge flags and are banners scattered around the stadium in mass. More so than in PES 2011?

9. Weather. Is snowy conditions back in the game?

Thanks.

1. where would you say the responsiveness fits compared to the PES/WE games we hold dearly(PES5/6WE9).
the same question for the defensive AI where would you rank it.(we9 was the best in my oppinion).

2. are longballs useful, do they give your player an advantage when u spotted the opening and executed the pass pefectly.i don't just mean for crosses in the box.

3 could you feel the difference in players when passing even if you selected manual passing or shooting do their stats still matter.

4 are the midfield battles more intense and noticeable when using the improved zonal defense system and the response time.

5 how are the one on one battles does it require more skill and timing or just knowing the buttons.

6 what was the part that stood out which made you think OMG how did they put this in the game.

7.how does the first touch feel, can u skin a player with it by paying attention to his positioning.

that's it for now, have a great time at the playtest, be honest with your answers and thanks for the invite.

- How does 360° dribbling feel? Is there more freedom compared to 2011?

- What about the fake shot animation?

- How do manual passes feel?

Please please please make sure you have a good few games against the AI and let us know how it's holding up?
Also, I read about players slowing up as they approach the ball from those lads in Germany who had a playtest... no mention of it from the WENB guys though - can you check that out?
As with Nick Cave - any ML, single player juice will be welcome!
(Can you guess I don't play online?)

Could you please let them know that the ways fouls were implemented in last year's demo was close to perfect, and that this implementation is needed for this year's full release. Fouls are a part of the sport, match officials also call matches differently in the different leagues, something to consider for future versions.

Also interested in weather and if it effects the players on the pitch, hopefully snow has made it back in!

Also interested on any ML news, as I too am a single player kind of guy.

Enjoy the playtest everyone! :)

:LMAO::LMAO:
Sorry but this was like an steric child asking for a toy.

- Has the auto clearance been removed from the game?

- In the tactics menu, can you play without a striker (CF,SS) ala 4-6-0 formation?

- Also in the tactics menu, if you play with an actual DM (the Mascherano type) but set up your team to be offensive, does your DM sit or does he bomb forward and ignore his duties?

- Have the chest passes (certain players) returned?

- Compared to 2011, do you feel a difference with the crossing?

The crossing on 2011 is a royal pain in the arse, so irritating when you cross in and it flies over all of the players and out for a throw in, hate the system with holding up, middle or down to adjust the flight of the cross, much preferred the single/double/triple tapping days lol

I must say, this playtest news is excellent, I hope evo-web is going to be Konami's focus for feedback one day, because I read so much crap from people on other forums that Konami listen to (wont name the forums, you guys have an idea anyway). True PES fans are on this forum, as well as people who know what they are talking about, it's great that Lami has this opportunity to playtest.

Lami - can you give away quite a few free kicks and see if the CPU freekick bug (CPU taking a freekick and just kicking it past all the players and out for a goalkick) has been fixed?

One thing I hope Konami will fix is the sound issues for Vista & Windows 7 users, basically Microsoft removed a multi-channel audio functionality for EAX & DirectSound on Vista & 7, so when 7/Vista users play PES there are low volume sounds for menu music, menu sounds, referee's whistle, crowd etc, and people have to use Creative Alchemy (or the Realtek similar tool), which changes the audio 'calls' from EAX/DirectSound to OpenAL, but those tools only work on Creative/Realtek cards, which sucks for anyone else. I really hope Konami have picked up on this and are using OpenAL for Audio now. This problem has been in every PES game since vista's release, I don't understand why Konami won't do something about it.

Would be nice if you could look for top spin shots (not freekicks they already have it).

Maybe you could try doing step overs and see if they're still sluggish and you have to wait for the full animation to play through. Or if it's more like in FIFA where the animations blend better and make it more responsive so you can step over and change direction more realistically. Also see how the AI reacts to feints/tricks, because in 2011 you can use the flip-ball-up-diagonally and the AI just stops and let you pass, a lot of feints are like that, making it feel like you are cheating when using them.

Also perhaps give feedback about more movement in the box on corner kicks (the latest videos shows everyone just stands pretty much still).

If playing against AI it would be interesting to hear if they still hit those long freekicks into/over the penalty area that are always the same. And if they do the exact same long throw ins over and over again.

Also against AI, how they cope with opposition close to them. In WE9 they're really clever, twisting and turning in tight spaces, getting out of trouble and passing the ball away. In PES 2011 they just run straight into each other and it just looks horrible when the ball bounce around while the AI seems completely retarded.

Edit: I forgot one, again if playing against the AI. Look if it hits any high through balls, they don't in 2011, only lob/cross button high passes but never high and long through balls for someone to run at. I don't know why hardly anyone has noticed this bug in 2011 (at least I have never seen anyone write about it), but I guess it's because everyone plays online these days.

Thank you and good luck.
