The Fight Night Thread (for the original and yearly updates)

I ordered the US version online last night, with the strong £ the game plus shipping here works out like £1.50 more than the cheapest price to buy the PAL version online here, so for peanuts more I get it earlier and there's the chance I can play it online :) Fingers crossed it'll be here on Thursday so I get to play it over Easter :)

Yeah dsgg i'm in the UK mate.

I was playing the game until like 3am last night :D I'm a bit better at it, i've still gotta get used to using the analogue stick to throw my punches though. I put the game on easy and i was winning all of my fights, so going to put it on normal/medium today. Good game though :)

Placebo - I hope your scheme works baby.

The online servers were jammed last night. I only got one on-line game in 2 hours of trying!!

Guy from California chose Lewis, i was Sonny Liston. He was talking smack thru the headset, but after missing wildy with 2 special punches, I ducked and caught him with a right hook and a left uppercut that sent him to the mat. Boy never recovered.

Shades of McCall and Rahman cuz the "Pugilist Specialist" was reduced to little more than an "Anemic Parplegic."

Screename- DarkMojo
Redcord- 1-0 (1 KO)

Do you need to pay EA anything to play?

No - all their PS2 games are free. In fact, I think Xbox is the only system that charges for online play.

This could change next year, though, once they got us hooked like crack addicts.

i hope to be playing it soon and one day we will fight my friend one day haaa haaaaaa haaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaa oh i hurt my self there

i read some were that you couldnt use the head set for this game im even more pissed off now

Not true - i used it last night when I nailed the guy form California who was playing as Lennox. I even made sure to do the obligatory Lennox defeat speech in an exagerrated British accent into the headset as hecrumbled, . "Riiiiiiiight! I bin knocked out, but the ref stopped it too early!! 'eeee was lucky! i woulda knocked 'im out!"

 Even the guy on the other end of the line was laughing.

'tis only a flesh wound!

So you lot are suggesting this game is very good?

well from what i have seen (and i havent even played it yet ) it looks the best boxing game ever made and maybe one of the best beat em up's around at the momeant In my opinion beat em up's have stood still since tekken 2 anyway so for me if its as good as it looks it will be :D

The game is amazing im currently 17-0-0 in my career on medium level and now the opponents are really getting smart im actually finding myself swaying with my boxer thats how much you get into it a definate must have im my opinion.

I started a career yesterday, i lost my very 1st match on points but then won my next 11, 10 of them being with KO's :D

damn, what a great game

Anybody in the UK want my copy of the demo? I'm confident the game will arrive tomorrow so I don't need it anymore :)

Then it's yours :)

Email/PM me your address and I'll try to go outside and post it Saturday, if not it'll be Tuesday :)

This is the beauty of true boxing fans - they are always so cool to one another. Bravo Placebo for sharing the wealth. I'd wish you 100 years of health, but I would rather that you get 1 hour of on-line play. ;)

I am 6-1 (6 KO's online). The one loss was against this cheater who created his own PERFECT fighter and snuck him online. they gotta find a way to stop that. Still, I am undefeated with Sonny Liston, so he is gonna be my meal ticket.

Yesterday I toasted 3 Roy joneses online in the first round, and then took on a Lennox from Philly. He talked smack but within the second round, I pushed Lennox into a corner, kocked him unconscious and piled on 4 more shots as he slumped in the corner, held up by the ropes and my body!! Hilarious.

Tommy Morrison all over again, baby!! That was for my boyz at Evo_Web who cant play on line!! PEACE

DarkMojo2 - living the dream on-line. Find me.

guys, whats your style to play?

i began a career but i will always win by KO, i think thats not good

but i dont know any good tactic to beat the opponent

can you tell me whats the best way?

should i be patient?

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, most boxers with an average and above amount of power win their first few fights by knockout, you're supposed to fight bums at first, if you get into the top 10 and it's still easy you need to up the skill level if it's not already no hard, and you should be using TPC of course because that's the way to play it (IMHO) :)

what is TPC?

and another thing, sometimes i skip the training because its very difficult, especially the one where i have to punch to these things which is held by the coach

do you know how can i solve this problem?

Yes practice, like anything in life, chances are you sucked at WE first right? But now that you've played it more you're probably good, training in Fight Night or fighting also takes practice, all the training mini-games not only help you to increase your stats but they're also helping you to punch better and throw what you want when you want it.

TPC = Total Punch Control, it's when you use the right analogue to punch instead of the face buttons, seems to me most people are whimping out because it actually means learning something instead of pressing a button but it's way better and it has advantages over using face buttons as well :)

my god, the total puch control is very difficult in my opinion

in my fights i always use the :r2: punch, because its very easy :D

but of course i want to make jabs and uppercuts

its difficult with the TPC, the opponent has a good block
