Project Gotham Racing 4 (Xbox360)

I just couldn't get into Forza 2 - I can see why people love it but I am not a fan of racing games generally but have always loved the PGR series. I can't believe how fast this game is - completely love ripping it up in the Sierra Cosworth! :)

Guys how the hell do I "drift"? I just can't do it (yes I know, I am crap!) :)

Agree, I'm currently playing Arcade Mode still, penultimate chapter, good fun! Also teaches you to play the game which I was hopeless at before. I will start career mode after that. But I don't really like doing Arcade mdoe on bikes, cars are a lot more fun :)

What's that for, funniest man? ;)

As for Forza 2, I just can't hack the game, it's far too boring.

it's by far more realistic but you kinda have to like that sort of game. + it takes a long time until you get to the real exciting cars.

I still LOVE Forza. Its 4 main downsides for me are Speed (if your doing 150 MPH you should actually feel like you doing that speed, 150 MPH feels the same as about 90 MPH on Forza 2!), Graphics could have a been much better, Not enough tracks and the crash damage could be much more realistic (e.g. you could actually write the car off as you can in DiRT).

PGR4 for me is great fun... I imagine myself being on Top Gear :)

I like it but my brother even more. He tried online 4 days ago and he can't stop playing. He's close to the top 1000 and I enjoyed watching him win. It's more addictive watching him than a true car competition :).

doing the same in forza - mastering powerslides there is just sooooo satisfying. you have to do it in PGR to get kudos and stuff, you lose time in forza. but it is hell a lot of fun

I do that as well. My mate thinks he is clever because he plays the game WITHOUT the Stability Management but he uses Traction Control (FORZA 2)... thats why he has got to such a high level in the game and I havent. I play with ONLY ABS turned on, everything else off.

That is probably why I didn't like Forza 2 much - I don't know anything about cars, engines etc so all that traction ABS stuff confused me!

Bizarre Creations has unveiled upcoming downloadable content for Project Gotham Racing 4, set to launch on 14th February.

There are two packs - one free, one for 400 Microsoft Points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.80) - and, as well as new cars and game modes, there are 10 new Achievements good for 250 gamerpoints.

The free pack, first, gives you the hydrogen-powered 2007 Peugeot Flux, winner of the 2007 Peugeot International Design Competition (the competition that actually revealed the game in the first place, if you remember).

It also introduces two new game modes - Tourist Mode, "which lets you tool around any city in the game checking out sights with your friends", and Free Roam Cat and Mouse, "where a slow mouse vehicle must avoid enemy cats". The ten Achievements are available in the free pack.

Meanwhile, the Premium Challenge Pack adds seven new cars - the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept, 2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI W12-650, 1987 BMW M3 E30 DTM, 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, 2008 Honda S2000 CR, the 2008 Callaway C16 Speedster and the freebie 2007 Peugeot Flux.

Plus there are three new bikes - the 2007 Yamaha YZF-R1, the 1995 Aprilia RS 250 and the 1998 Aprilia RSV 1000 Tuono R.

Check out how some of them look in the four DLC screenshots we've added to our Project Gotham Racing 4 screenshot gallery.

Finally, there's a new World Challenge Arcade Mode, which features 20 events in three chapters, including five events that are Platinum-only.

Er, and finally finally, there's the option to drive around whilst viewing the race from trackside cameras, which sounds impossible, but is apparently something for which people asked.

For more details on all of that, head over to Bizarre Creations' website post.

Or read our Project Gotham Racing 4 review to find out why PGR4 is already one of the best racers of last year.
