If i buy this card....

Hey xinzhitan14

What do you think of the Geforce Club3d Nvidia 8600GTS 256mb ??
or should i take the x1950 or hd2600?

hey man, dont get the 8600GTS, as its not THAT much better than my 7600gt (which struggles).

i would consider getting the x1950pro/xtx or the hd2600, i dont know too much about the new ATI cards though, i think the hd2600 is a middle range card so i'd stick with the x1950. but i would try looking up some reviews on google between the two.

Hi, I´m planning to buy a:
VGA PCIE ATI X1950PRO XTREME 512MB DDR3 POWERCOLOR
what do you think about this one? is it good? does it support directx 10 ?
thnx!

EDIT: or would it be better a... :
VGA PCIE ATI PowerColor HD 2900 XT 512MB GDDR3 ?????
Thanks!

get thte Hd2900xt. the x1950 is an older gen card which isnt dx10, where as the hd2900xt's are.

My game isn't work smooth either..

C2D 6320, 1GB Ram, AsusP5B, Gigabyte 8500GT.

600X800 HIGH Settings, drops after goals, and in replays..

(Someone use here 8500GT?)

OK, thanks to everybody. My computer, then, will be like this:
- Case ATX Coolermaster Centurion 534 Silver
- CPU Intel C2Quad 775 Q6600 2.4 Kent Box
- RAM: 2x DDR2 667Mhz 2Gb Kingston (x2 = 4Gb)
- HD SATA II 500Gb Seagate 7200
- Motherboard ATX Intel 775 Gygabite GA-P35-DS3L
- VGA: PCI ATI HD2900 XT 512Mb Gigabyte

Will everything be suitable, compatible ?
Thnx

If you can afford it I would get the 8800GTS, the 2600 and 2900xt's are very noisy and dont have great image quality.
The 8800GTS is the best card bang per buck at the moment.
If your thinking something like an x1950pro your better off getting a 7800GTX of ebay for the same price and having better performance.

I have an:
Motherboard: Asus P5WD2
Proccessors: 2x 3.0 ghz
Ram: 2 gb
Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 6600 LE
Hdd: 480 gb

and the game runs slowly in max details on 1024x768
even in medium during the movies run slower ?
Is my card so old ?

What about buying a 8600 GTS is it enough not just for this release but at least 2 years ?

Unfortunatetly your card is a cheap version of the 6600 chip. You´re RAM is only DDR2 instead of DDR3 RAM which is used at the 6600 GT.
So your card is very old and slow. The 8600 GTS won´t be enough for the next two years. Save your money and get a 8800 GTS.

8600GTS will be fine for PES 2008 and all future pes games until they change the engine.
But if your talking future prove as in FPS over the next two years then no.
I have an 8800GTX and i dont expect it too keep me going for 2 years.
You just gotta look at 2 years ago we had the 6800GTX-X800XT as the top cards and if I had one I would def not expect it to run Crysis at any sort of decent level.

im now planning to buy and EVGA 8800 gts 320mb you think this is a good choice?

Is evga good?

Definitely not.
The x1950pro is more powerful than the hd2600xt and the 8600gts (or at worst on par, it depends on the game you consider). Just look at this, for an idea:

http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html

Problem is, the x1950pro is not DX10 compatible while the other two cards are. So if you plan to upgrade to Vista soon and take advantage of all those fancy DX10 features, you may prefer to look elsewhere.
Anyway, the x1950pro is excellent value for money, and by the time DX10 becomes a real requirement for games I think all these cards will be obsolete anyway.
I'd avice to grab a x1950pro: I did a couple of weeks ago, and I can play pes2008 demo at max detail with no slowdown whatsoever.

That's what I want to buy too, however I am not sure if my computer is fast enough. what is your stats? and what fps you get on high settings with 1280x1024? (you can use Fraps for that)

Thank you.

Here is what I will have:
Pentium 4 3.0 gigs HT
1 gig DDR2 Ram
Sapphire x1950pro 512mb

What do you think? I cannot stand slowdowns! I want to run it on highest setting with 1280x1024 at 60 fps, without any slowdowns (including in replay's and cut scenes). If I can't I'll just wait until I can upgrade my whole system.

- VGA: PCI ATI HD2900 XT 512Mb Gigabyte

That's a monster of a system, how much will it cost you? oh and btw you have nothing to worry about, PES 2008 is a very simple game compared to what your system can run.

Below is an excellent link to help you build a gaming system, check mid-rage or high-end system.

yeh your card probably isnt good enough, considering its pretty much on par or a little worse than a 7600gt.

i got 2 pc's which run pes2008 and none of them run it constantly at 60fps.

1st pc
a64 venice 3200, 1gb corsair, 6600gt AGP.
i can play the game at 1290x900 resolution at medium detials with 4xAA and 4xAF and runs perfect. but if i run any higher i get a bit of lag here and there

2nd pc
x2 3800, 2gb generic ram, 2x 7600gt in SLI
i can play the game at 1680x1050 at high settings with no AA or AF, but it lags in the replays. but gameplay is smooth.

I have... Intel® Core™2 Duo desktop processor E6700; Corsair 2GB DDR2 memory; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW and DVD-ROM/CD-RW drives; LightScribe labeling; 400GB hard drive; Windows Vista Home Ultimate

2 GeForce 8800GTS 620mb dual on a asus p5n e sli motherboard

22in hp glossy finish monitor 1680 by 1050 it looks peachy all under 1900.00 and to me a glossy monitor makes the differences

Can someone tell me the pros of getting a dx10 card at the moment considering I'm on XP ( and will be for a while) and that only a few games such as Crysis will benefit from having a dx10 card.
They're comparatively so expensive and surely it's best to buy, say, a Sapphire x1950pro 512mb, then upgrade when prices have dropped and when it is absolutely essential to have a dx10 card.

cheers

customer service, and quality of their cards...

for example, if you had a defective 7900gt, 90% of the time they would send you back a better version of the card, or a whole different card like a 7950 gt 512 mb

The main thing with graphics cards are the chipsets if you look at reviews of let say 10 8800's they will all have the same fps give or take 1-2fps, so the difference is minimal between brand names.

Also as far as DX10 goes the difference isnt that much at the moment especially since you only have XP and you need VISTA for DX10.
There are very few dx10 games at the moment and I must say that Lost Planet, I didnt notice anything and in Bioshock the game did look a little bit better but do you really stand around and stare at flames going they look nice, the effects are better but from what I have read on forums is that only the 8800GTX and Ultra are able to run DX10 games at any sort of decent speed without much slow down.
