Nope, we can't do nothing. Reporting him to ebay would be the only option, I fear.

Come on lads leave him be, you never know it could be his only source of income and his family could starve without it. I never understood how people can become upset with trivial matters when there are real problems in the world people ignore.

But this will be a copy of a game, does it not count as piracy?

Of course it does - but EBay is hardly the pillar of morality when it comes to these things - it's rife with stolen and pirated goods.

If he's really that bothered then maybe he shouldn't do it any more, I'm just saying let the guy have his little earner. Maybe Fernando and all those who put so much time into this stuff should do the same?

I'll wait until better patches for WE9 are made - then it'll look more obvious that it is a patched copy from the advert and then go for the kill by reporting to ebay.

Better still, claim that you were intending to make a purchase but you were informed by a past buyer that the seller is in fact selling illegal copies. Ebay is likely to give you the benefit of the doubt anyway.

Either way, we get this year in and year out and you will always get the occasional twat selling off our patchers' hard work. A possible deterrent to buyers is for patchers to include a message in the starting up logo stating something along the lines of "You are being conned and assisting illegal activity if you purchased this patched copy" or whatever

That's nothing, Da7imtuta (from the editing forum) sells the patched games with his name on them in Saudi Arabia, and they're distributed everywhere around the country. Piracy is common place around here.

hmmmm and what about all you guys running a patched version of winning eleven/pes? did you lot get permission from konami to make a legal back up and patch it? i dont think so
@Sulph....lmfao so you dont make a copy of winning eleven/pes every time you patch it? i would call that piracy and what about the guy that modded your ps2 did he get permission from sony to bypass the protection in the ps2 bios?no, but do ppl complain when they charge for chipping?no, so why moan about a guy who is selling a few copies on ebay for a little cash.

now you made me lmfao rockykabir
i thought any modification to any file on a game was illegal unless the company gave you rights to do so, so the modders are doing an "illegal activity " if yo want to look at it that way

    Just my OPINION. :lmao:

I'm not looking at the legal side of things here. What I'm talking about is that people here put effort into making the patches and then those patches are sold. I dont give a damn about the legal side of things. I just feel sorry for all the great kit makers, ball makers, stadium makers, etc that dont get anything for doing what they do and the people seel their stuff. Konami dont lose much cuz they make their money from sales.
Where do patch makers get their money from?

Patchmakers dont charge us for money do they? So obviously they dont want money?
And RuneEdge if your so concerned about the patchmakers why dont you donate some cash to them?

As for the rest i agree with w11forever. All you people have modded ps2s, you support all the ps2 modders in the world who cost sony milions of dollars each years and not to talk about the gaming industry on the whole. And dont tell me you dont have AT LEAST one pirated game besides pes!

You can get a good patch game in south america for like 2 Dollars american..... I bought some patched ones years ago because it had south american leagues in it.... However I still support konami by buying the original games........ In the end i think Konami now has a large enough fan base for support...

Hmmmmm... i dont why u guys are complainin abt the game sellin the patch..... i just found out that this guys complainin aint even ther guys makin the patch... so if a patch maker doesnt trip about it or actually sell it... then i dont think he cares whether u sell it or not...

i was tryna bid for the patch.. and looks like a bunch of losers already reported cos the item is out.... that aint fair... cos guys like us that cant patch the game... would love to bid for it... so we can actually get the patch.... like u "non pirating pes fans"...

so all y'all whinin abt it.... i need a patch are u gonna send me one... or gonna tell me to do it ma sef... i cant and dont have tyme... so biddin n buyin one from ebay would be a very useful options.... but too bad.... the righteous ones wont let us breath.

To all my mates here, stop being so naive. What's going on in E-bay is just a drop in the ocean. Do you realise that there is rampant piracy all over the world.

In S.E. Asia for example, pirated WE9 was out on Aug 2. In another week you can bet your house, that WE9 with Fernando's patch will be on sale.

Same thing for WE8:LE, Team Ole's Gansta patch is openly for sale everywhere. The fact is, 95% of games sold in the region are pirated. And all these go for as little as $1 USD. It is a know fact, that unoffically companies like Sony & Microsoft close an eye to game piracy since it drives sales on PS2 & XBOX units. Whould they do the same for Windows? NO! Since they don't directly benefit from PC sales.

Another factor is purchasing power. Just say you earn $USD 2000 a month. A game costs USD 50. Thats only 2.5% of your salary. Costly but no problem. NO just say i'm in Asia, I also earn 2000 a month (in local currency). an origianl game costs USD50 x ex.rate = 200. So if buying the game i'm spending almost 10% of my salary. Who wouldn't get a copy for USD1?

So the fact is, millions have been made and is going to continue to be made by pirates. Only PSP with its UMD and Gamecube with its minidisc (i think) are not widely pirated. Since these are not common formats, it's not profitable maybe. Anyway sales of these units have almost died off.

Walk in to any shop, and buy a PS2, XBOX it's already pre-modded. Only bona-fide retailers or Sony boutiques sell un-modded sets. Even then, you'll get funny looks from people if you ask for un-modded sets. (they think you're dumb or something). Also, most sales assistant will point you to a good tech for modding.

For all those who don't condone these acts, you'd be surprised at the number of ppl from your countries who come over here for holiday and walk of with tons of stuff, (i'm talking buying suitcases full of games, modded Sets and all). You won't beleive the hassle I had to go thru, to get an original DualShock2, after I screwed up the one that came with my set. The fakes are so good, that you can;t tell the difference just by looking anymore. Even the insides are faked to perfection. Those in hte know, still can sopt minor differences but to the average joe, will probably be paying hte price of an original and getting a fake. I had to mail order mine from Sony specialist store.

All in all, it is sad that some people's hard work are being profited on by others (in respect to patchers). But in the big picture, that guy on Ebay is an amatuer, whereas pirates here in Asia are more of an organised thing. Most of the patched pirated games sold are being mass produced, somtime the factories are on ships anchored in Intl waters. THis has been going on since the good old days of PS1.

Most retailers who sell pirated software here really don't know or don't care much about what they're pushing. Some of them even think Konami releases 7-8 versions of WE a year, only updating jerseys and teams. (you'd be surprised). To them it's just another piece of software to sell.

Anyway, the point i'm trying to get across is, you can't beat it unless osme form of foolproof copy protection is put into media.

A good thing is online games now. They don;t allow you to play, if your game is modded or a pirate copy. Even if your set is modded, they kick you out. Now this is good, I don't know how its done, but a step in the right direction.

Lighten up & cheers mate. ;)
