Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I have no idea. Paper talk? Can't see quite why we need him. Getting on a bit for a footballer isn't he?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Big Sam said today that he never received any offers for Stelios from Liverpool.

The rumours were a $1 million transfer fee which is even stupid to consider for an average 30 year old winger, when you wont pay $2 million for a 31 year old Luis Figo.

I'm guessing the 60,000 squid per week demands put them off Figo - also, maybe they didn't like the fact that RM was charging for him considering they were gonna let him go anyway to relieve their wage bills...?

Re: Liverpool Thread

But it seems Baros have to go first then Owen might have a chance to move .. tough choice since I liked Baros as he has potential, but I think Owen will be my choice.

Oh oh and before long, Crouchy has been infected with the "injury" virus that all liverpool players have at one stage of their career at Anfield, might as well do it now than later in the season LOL :)

Rumour has it Owen has Crouch voodoo doll. :D

I would easily get rid of Baros and get Mikey, even if it costs us some $$. Baros' recurring theme seems to be "great potential". the bottom line is that they guy may be a hell of a workforce and hustler, but he is nowhere near the finisher Owen is, and he doesn't keep his head up to find his teammates. I would be sad to see him go, but happy as hell if owen makes a triumphant return.

. . .besides, how comical would it be to see a front line of Crouch and Owen playing together?!

I can see an England future playing partnership .. but okay for now it's hillarious :)

If that would happen, oh boy the good days are getting EVEN BETTER !!!

BRING ON OWEN !

Re: Liverpool Thread

We shouldn't be aiming for Owen, we don't need him... our attention needs to be placed firmly on a right-winger and a centre-half. Any ideas who? I'm thinking Andrade for CB (we need a quick defender) and a good crosser on the right, Joaquin would've been nice but i don't see that one happening.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Anyone see the story in the news today.

LIVERPOOL FAN KILLED BY MODEL OF ANFIELD.

Apparently the guy fell on a model of the stadium.

His wife was in Tiers!

Who knows. I wouldnt be surprised if Benitez can work some of his magic and bring him to Anfield.

Re: Liverpool Thread

That would require wwaaaaaaaaay too much money, maybe if they sold Gerrard.

Re: Liverpool Thread

My God - that jersey is awful looking. I hope its a fake. Looks like a damn peppermint stick.

I might have to listen to Champions Leagues games on the radio of if they're gonna be prancing around in those eyesores.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Quite like the kit, not a patch on the other CL kit we had a few years back, but yeah those white streaks & txt spk RBK is pretty bad.

Baros has been named for the squad for wednesday game, I guess that's a way of telling bidders(who are in european competition) to hurry up & make a firm approach for him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Jerzy Dudek has been ruled out of action for up to three months after a fracture-dislocation of his elbow picked up at the end of a training session at Melwood on Monday.

He was immediately treated at the scene by the club's medical staff before being led away from the pitch holding his right arm.

Liverpool FC Head of Press Ian Cotton said: "Jerzy has a fracture-dislocation of his elbow. He saw a specialist on Monday afternoon and will see another specialist on Tuesday for further investigation.

"He will be out of action for three months."

How are we supposed to sell him now?!

Re: Liverpool Thread

What the hell is with the injuries starting up again -

Mellor, Dudek, Crouch, Zenden. . argh!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Theyve got to wait there turn, although I think Zenden should get a good run in the first team.

I thought Traore secured the left back position now that Riise moved to left wing

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ghazi was on about injured players, not players waiting for their chance in the team. (At least i think he was... back me up here bro)

We are still a couple of players short of a title challenge IMO, lets see if Rafa can work his magic and bring in the quality we need, particularly at centre-half and on the right-wing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Gonzalez has been denied a work permit due to Chile being 72 in the World Rankings, apparently an International team need to be ranked 70 or higher in order for a player to be granted a permit?!
