FIFA 10 NG Improvements Thread

7 August 2004
Liverpool
Right guys, same as last year. After having spent quite some time with 09 NG it's time for another improvements list that the lads over at FSB to pass on.

If I remember correctly EA should be in the correct development phase at the moment for us to still have some influence.

This thread is only for NextGen consoles, so no PC/PS2 comments.

I've copied last seasons comments list and "italic-d" which ones have been done. I'm not sure about them all, online for example, but it gives an idea.

The same set-up as last time with the different catagories. Post the improvements, or adjustments to improvements already in the list, and I'll edit the post to keep it tidy.

List of fixed/improved suggestions:

Graphics
- Better Radar colour combinations
- Goalkeeper kits improved/corrected
- Better Penalty Cam, higher placed. Can't see corner with player in the way
- Higher placed Corner Cam, or keep "user" cam (tele/dynamic/etc)
- Better player likenesses
- Less Jaggies
- Better cutscenes, less jerky
- More camera angles (gradients to angles and zoom, for example "TELE angle 3 zoom 2" = slightly closer and camera goes at an angle for end of pitch action)
- Better replay angles
- More varied net styles per stadium
- More generic stadiums across all league levels (5.000 seater up to 60.000 seater)
- Ref and linesman visible ingame
- Better player proportions, ie tighter shirts and shorts, its not basketball.
- Replays at HT and FT should always atleast show all the goals scored
- Better pre kickoff cutscenes. For example players dont do team warmups right before kickoff. Maybe a few stretches for individuals when lining up for the start of the match. Coin toss for captains.

Sound
- Faster Crowd reactions. A "Oooooh" when the ball has been hit, not when it hits the stands
- Net sounds less pronounced relative to stadium noise/size
- Better, more accurate allocation of chants; Accrington Stanley shouldnt be singing about "winning the CL 5 times in Istanbul", or national teams having english league chants.

Control
- Correct Kicking foot GK
- Faster response times
- Shorter, less awkward animations
- D-pad support
- GoalKick powerbar
- Slightly heavier ball [physics]
- More varied tactical options linked to d-pad control. For example defensive formation assigned to d-pad right, attacking formation assigned to d-pad left.
- Remove occasional player "locking"
- More freekick options; bring an extra player
- Better timing and tackling animations
- Shots from the wide area's should have the same amount of power as central shots
- Assisted [lob]throughpasses should be more effective, atm they are nearly all intercepted.
- Ball dummy/stepover
- Better reactions/animations to crosses; onetime shots, header. Not control then shoot
- Better freekick control, having to determine swerve while loading the powerbar is too short. Better control over height and power, possibly as seperate controls.
- More defensive control in crowded box, less automated clearing
- Manual selection improved (keep the selected player at corners for example)

AI
- Less responsive AI for individual actions. They know what is gonna happen the second you press the button
- Keepers less good at super shots, better at crosses
- More aggressive Keeper rushing, less static on the line positioning
- Bigger difference playing styles (longball vs total football)
- Playing styles more linked to ratings, for example lower league team is more longball
- More balanced team ratings, Everton aren't better then PSV.
- More varied attack styles, not the wing/cross/header all the time.
- Less accurate freekicks
- More varied runs from player teammates
- Less harsh fatigue model
- Better defensive movement/pressure for player teammates
- Less rigid back four, wingbacks more attacking
- More agressive tactical changing from AI (when behind more attacking/different formation for example)
- CPU passing more "in to space" instead of to static player
- More CPU fouls and mistakes
- Less "endless" dribbling from AI players
- More varried goalie throws, also to feet, head instead of only to chest

Managermode
- Cupfinals at special venue's, not the basic home or away stadium
- Different away stadiums per team in the upper leagues. This can be either linked to the teamoptions in edit mode or randomised per league between the 30 odd stadiums in game for the teams without their own ingame stadium
- Better balance to earnings across leagues. For example Liverpool barely make a profit in home games and a loss in away games, yet Accrington stanley can earn a few hundred thousand per match with a few stadium upgrades.

Misc.
- Always have the english language and commentary in all regions with regional languages added (360 version) instead of only regional languages based on logistics. For example the dutch version had sweden and spain as the other languages. English footabll is far more popular then swedish football.

Evo-Web suggestions for FIFA10:

Graphics:
- Real Adboards (proper sponsors)
- Remove the "lets FIFA" on-pitch ad
- Weather effects visible on PS3
- More Generic Stadiums
- Better integration of goal celebrations, ingame instead of cutscene
- Slower transition between team formation screens, too fast at the moment.
- The option to have normal camera angles (tele, dynamic, etc) for freekicks and corners.
- League/division crest to change on kit with promotion/relegation
- Night game pitches don't have darkpatches, thats why we have floodlights. (Euro2008 had it right)
- Better pitch vs stadium proportions. Anfield is far closer to the pitch in real life.
- Better cutscenes for league/ cup wins and relegation. Lifting the trophy for example. More ceremony needed.
- Freekick/corner cam can be normal tele view. No need to go behind player
- Player stats easier to view in tactical menu's in one view, not multiple pages.
-------------
- Continue to improve player proportions / more variety in body types
- Option to mix and match between home/away/3rd kits
- More varied Injury animations
- More varied celebrations when not controlling them
- Improve singleplayer menu's, seeing "ready" across half the screen is pointless
- Improve broadcast camera (possibilty to switch between "absolute" (move stick right->player runs parallel to the line) and "relative"(currently used: if you hold your stick to the right, the player will run out of the pitch sooner or later)
- More varied "miss hits" when shooting. Instead of mostly hitting the ball high over the bar add scuffs wide, trickles into the goalies arms, ect
- Difference between walking and running should be more visible
- Offside goals to be called back later, let the players/crowd celebrate and then disallow the goal.
- Cornerflags, adboards should be physical, players/balls react when colliding with them.
- Less cut-scenes, more ingame. Yellow/Red cards should be viewed from playing cam wuth referee running towards the foul/player. Same for injuries; Physio comes on treats and walks off with player, stretcher for serious injuries, etc.
- Real time pitch wear and tear.
- All Weather/time settings for all stadiums, not limited per stadium.
- Delay "yellow/red card caption" till after the referee has shown the card
- Improved framerates
- Correct Kitnumbers per league
- Generic goalkeeper kits should atleast be similar colour to real kit, not only blue or red
- More boots from Nike, Puma, etc
- Player appearance updates/edits should effect all parts of the game, so ManagerMode players also wear new boots.
- New BAP camera, further away - between current BAP camera and End to End
- No confetti visible in the middle of the pitch
- Halftime substitution cutscene
- More fan/crowd animations
- Add pitch hardness difference between top teams and lower league teams
- Different pitch sizes
- More pitch textures
- More pitch detoration variety (lower leagues should be more muddy/barren)
- More netstyles

Sound:
- Dynamic Downloadable Commentary (commentary updates)
--------------------
- "Anticipation sounds", crowds make sounds before and whilst a player shoots. At the moment the sound is mostly when the ball passes the goalline. For example let the crowd roar when Gerrard is about to strike the ball.
- "Rival/Negative Chants", for example: "Are You Tottenham In Disguise" for Arsenal when beating opponents. Or "You Don't Know What You're Doing" when in a relegation battle.
- Different crowd/goal cheers for different leagues/countries
- Improved commentary, for example a title deciding match should be discussed.
- Away team keepers get jeered when taking goal kicks or the ball is passed back to them.
- Away teams are booed / whistled at when taking a penalty or direct free kick.
- "Ole's" when a team strings 20 passes together, maybe followed by a cheeky boo if / when they lose possession.
- Chants are louder after a goal is scored - would be even better if individual teams & players had their own chants ie Rooney, Ronaldo, Gerrard etc.
- If a player has the ball (and is facing the goal) about 30 yards out, you get urged to 'shoooot'

Control:
- Added options for long ball passes. In the way shooting has lob/finesse/power it can also be applied to long ball passing.
- Faster crossing/crosses. Still too slow/lofty at the moment. Like longball passing could also be determined by the button combination.
- Better cornerkick control. Like freekick more control over height and power as seperate elements.
- Goalie rush should be faster and further, more responsive
- SuperCancel for movement aswell as ball kicking
- Freekick to rotate 360, pass it back to goalie/defender
- More angles to move in when in possesion of the ball ( for exmaple 16 direction control as apposed to current 8 direction control)
- Add formation to d-pad tactics button. For example Up is 3-4-3, Left is attacking, Down is 4-5-1, Right is Counter Attack. This gives faster ingame control. Or use modifyer button to bring up selected "quick formations".
--------------------
- Stats make bigger difference, more individuality. Great passers should be noticable (Alonso, Xavi, Beckham, ect). At the moment player difference is mostly speed, strenght and shooting with passing fairly generic.
- Less "clipping" from AI players to win ball
- More "physical play" fouls; barging, niggly tackles should be fouls.
- Sprinting should have its own fatigue model so that you can't run the length of the pitch 3 consecutive times in 5 ingame min.
- Multiple players attempting to win ball at corners. At the moment it's one per team.
- Allow defenders to come forward for freekicks/corners. (Hyppia/Vidic/Gallas are more dangerous at corners then strikers)
- Tweak ball physics: harder shooting, rebounds (from adboards), remove "speeded up" rebounds
- Slower pass gauge for manual setting
- 1-on-1's should be more "free". At the moment they all feel very similar.
- Distance shots should have less "lift"
- Option to turn off "Interactive Celebrations".
- Improved "Semi" controls
- More sensative throughball power gauge, takes too long at the moment
- Player switching needs to be faster
- Enable first time long/throughball passes
- Option to set powergauge speed with sliders
- Less woodwork shots with assisted controls
- Option to pick up the ball with Goalkeeper when collecting an opponents ball. Used to waste time.
- Better heading; distance, power and player movement are still too static.
- Better balance for first time control. First touch knock-on is too powerfull.
- Additional Simplified dribbles for easier more accesesble dribbling
- More power control for High throughballs
- Harder lobshots, too easy at the moment
- Choice for number of players in the wall
- Remove the rule that stops you changing your captain during a game.
- Be able to choose which players go up for corners
- Be able to change setpiece taker without having to go into the menu's

AI:
- Better refeering, fix the advantagerule! Update didn't do anything noticable
- Defensive wall for freekick can "collapse" with the ball getting "through"
-------------------
- More mistakes from referee/linesman. Marginal onside/offside decisions more random and incorrect.
- More mistakes from AI players/teams
- More compact play from AI, strikers/attacking midfielders are given too much space to counter attack
- More "anticipation play" from defense to combat free players.
- Mediocre goalies should be less likely to save "perfect" distance shots.
- Players should recieve cards for persistant fouling
- Different referee strictness
- No advantage play with a red card foul
- Additional Mentality stats for players, or more visible if present. For example "Aggressive" players concede more fouls.
- Less AI cheats for enabling slow defenders to catch up to fast strikers via delayed player control response.
- Better tactics from AI teams with regard to defensive line. A slow defense playing a fast attack shouldnt hold a high line.
- More skill moves from AI players
- Confidence Attribute: Poor players take less risk against better players and visa versa.
- Improved AI teammate runs into the box for crosses. At the moment they are too early.
- Better assignment of players in the wall. A 40yard freekick from near the sideline shouldnt have the two central defenders in a two man wall.
- Improved carding/cutscene implementation, sometimes you don't even see the cutscene and realise that youve had a man sent off!
- AI should be better at freekicks, conceding a foul near the box against Beckham should be punished far more often. AI hardly score freekicks at all!
- Improve bugs; Goalkeeper sometimes waites really long to take a goalkick.
- More difference between teams
- More tactical differences (Relegation team should play really defensive against top teams)

ManagerMode:
- Better scheduling, no 2 games on the same day or same weekend
---------------------------
- Automatic Night games (midweek, CL, UEFA cup, etc)
- Correct replay / ET implementation for cups (FA cup matches go to replays, not ET)
- 1st leg score visible when playing 2 leg cup matches
- Stadiumbuilding or Choice of larger generic stadium when upgrading the stadium manager (Especially when starting as a lower league team gaining promotion through the divisions)
- Better integration of real life tournaments, Playoffs
- More developed injuries whilst playing (6 months for example, at the moment only during match simulation do long term injuries occur)
- Better developed staff options/upgrades
- Training option, challenge-, freekick with wall-, cornerkick-, freetraining
- More transfer activity from AI teams
- Better AI management of players with regard to fatigue, big games
- AI teams should keep minimum number of players at 20-23. At the moment with retired players you get "not enough players" when wanting to sign one from that team.
- 3 or 4 (Generic) Youth players should be added per season
- Manager offers at different clubs. Poor performance results in lower teams offering jobs, good performance results in better clubs offering jobs. Mid-Season job offers.
- Rival players mentality visible for transfers (Happy, unhappy, etc)
- Option to take "Improved Staff" to new job, for example goalkeeper training/trainer
- Players request better contract after good season / Transfer requests
- Player swap transfers and "money + player" transfers
- Better negotiation stances from players / clubs
- Option to set specific area's for autogrowth
- Kit number editor
- Reserve/Youth team development reports (can be linked to homegrown squad additions)
- More top20 stats like assists, tackles, dribbles, ect
- Correct card implementation (straight red is banned for 3 matches, 5 yellows is a one match ban, etc)
- Correct scheduling; Last game of the season is played at the same time. Now the league has already "finished" when you play your final game. Same for ECC matches, the other results/games aren't played till you have played your match.
- The option to start a Clean ManagerMode or a Current Managermode with the latest standings from the real league. (Could be based on Live Updates with added league positions) For example starting as Spurs on the 30th of october would mean 10 matches played and near the bottom.
- Improved player auto-growth, more realistic that certain players don't develope past a certain age or in a certain catagorie.
- Add a potential catagorie for young players
- Allow "Custom squads" for different matches/tournaments. For example a youth/reserve squad for carling cup. Saves having to change every player per match.
- AI squads/teams should change per match/tournament (see above)
- Add match results to manager history

Editmode:
- Fully functional edit more: Player appearance/stats editable (faces, length, weight, hair, etc)
- Photo import ala Tiger Woods
- The possibility to assign stadiums to teams, giving the possibility to not be playing at the same away stadium for 3/4 of the season.
- Stadiumbuilder
- The possibility to assign pitch pattern to stadium
- Stadiumname editor
- Team creator; For example FSB United

Online:
- Enable leagues to have home and away (2 matches per team)
- Goalscorer should be able to control replay only (with timelimit)
- Longer online pauze, 20sec is too short
- Theatermode (ala Halo) to record full matches with editing and sharing possiblity
- Better teammanagement control (formation saves)
- Rematch and Rematch with different teams options straight after FT
- Chat cut off point when out of the game
- After completing a match return player to lobby instead of top menu
- Pauzing the game should only happen when ball goes out of play. Pauze logo in top corner during play as warning / heads up.
- Better cup/tournament creator
---------------------
- Option to limit team choices, for example when hosting a match only certain leagues can be used
- Online leagues should be added to EA website for easy access, tracking standings/injuries/ect.
- Option to sign into EA servers from anywhere in the game
- Manual player rankings
- More stable servers
- Option to limit number of BAP players
- Option to set control level for BAP matches (assisted/semi/manual)
- BAP matches should kick-off 10sec. after captains are "ready"
- Allow captain to kick players from team
- Show squad/formation in room instead of "Squad/Team Management/ect"
- Online Manager Mode
- Online clubs:
- Fix the bug where some matches take the real teams stats, instead of every team being the same, (85 each player)
- Fix the bug where if substitutions are made in some stadiums that everyone gets disconnected from the game
- Add a countdown timer (60secs max), to the initial lobby, (where you first see your opponents)
- Add the ability to create yourself as a BAP player and sign up for your online club, (so you could really have you and your mates as a team)

Misc.:
- Personal playlists, music of HD
- Save replays to HD and then upload at later date
- Shorter Substitution loadtimes
- Full training mode; freekicks, corners, teamplay, etc
- Save controller settings to live accounts for mutliplayer users aswell (player 2/3/4)
-------------------------
- More International Teams (Unlicensed if need be)
- Add Arena Training: Training area with challenge-, freekick with wall-, cornerkick-, freetraining
- Russian and Argentinian Leagues
- Bigger difference between speed settings
- Better Achievements; for example - Hit teh bar from the Halfway line, score with a back heel, ect
- Unlockable Classic players / teams
- Use the wall for freekicks in the Arena

I'd like to see a bit more individuality from player to player. I suppose so that stats really stand for something. So no centre backs being as good as attacking players with regards to dribbling, agility, shooting and the like.

Also and they started to address this in 08 (less ape-like), player models. Less muscular and angry-looking please. Footballers tend to be a lot leaner than what Fifa portrays.

More injuries, with more variety both in type and the way they are shown on screen, we need a trainer running on and a stretcher etc. They need to be a large part of the game as they are now...

Less clipping by the AI making your player lose the ball or slow up just enough to have the player clipping nick the ball this seems to be stock FIFA script, that and the fact they hardly ever get fouls against or cards...

Improve the standard balloon ball over the bar shooting, there needs to be more variety in miss or ill timed shots, rather than just having nearly every shot fly upwards...

3rd kits for all teams or at least the choice to mix and match all strip items, to ensure no kit clashes, also show full kit not just shirt in selection window...

If we have to have the select your celebration can we have a little variety if you press nothing other than run to corner flag, minor I know but again it gets damn annoying...

more errors in general from lines men to referees, keepers and players...

I have a load more but I have to do some damn work now... :BLEH:

My main gripe is keeper rushing, sometimes they take too damn long to come off their line especially in 1 on 1 situations.

Also, a better advantage rule. Far too many times have I been clear on goal only for the referee to pull play back for an earlier foul.

Limit the amount of times people can pick Man Utd online. It's not that fact they are hard to beat it's just so damn boring.

I'll post gameplay things only, because it's whaty really worries me. My list tries to put emphasis on player individuals, specially skilled players, because strength and in general physical attributes are well represented, but not the skills. Besides, there should be more loose balls and directions of running and passing should be doubled at least.

- Decrease the accuracy of passing, specially first-time passing, and decrease DRAMATICALLY the accuracy of long passing, make the skill stats way more important for this.

- Make trapping the ball more difficult and depending on the skills of the player.

- Make the right stick knock ons to rely more on the skills of the player and the abbility of the user, and remove the "inertia" the player now has when changing in angles minor than 75º. It should be possible to knock the ball one way and run the other one without "inertia" penalty, or change the ball trajectory 45º at full speed without slowing the player so much.

- Make defenders more eager to anticipate the ball and passes. It can't be that strikers receive completely alone eveytime in midfield to create a counter.

- The change in pace from walking to running should be way more exagerated. There should be a burst of speed at the begining and decresing in time depending on the player attributes. And fatigue should have a great impact in the game both in short and long term. A player shouldn't be able to run the whole pitch for 3 consecutive counters, please! Besides, the "short term" fatigue should greatly impact the player skills while he recovers fully from the recent effort.

- The "slow run" modifyer should allow for quicker driblings and changes in direction, really depending on the player's attributes of course, but should allow. Some feint sshould be allowed to be done by simply movint the direction stick, even if they are very very basic.

- Tackling should rely more on the skills of the player and the skills of the user controlling him. Tackles should be very well timed in order to get the ball. Mistaking a tackle should cause lots of fouls.

- The barging system is good, but should produce more fouls simply by contact. That should be a good way to stop counters in the midfield if you have a slow player and your opponent is begining the run.

- As there should be more fouls, some yellow cards should be given not because of a hard tackle, but the number of tackles committed by a specific player. Different referees could have different "number" of tackles allowed.

- A sliding tackle without touching the ball should be alaways, at least, a yellow card. When a card has to be shown, there shouldn't be advantage play.

- Allow more than one player per team to fight for the ball. That should allow great melees in the area and even witness a teammate pushing another to win the ball. As in real life, in corners the referees should "let play" a bit more on physicality.

- Reduce sensibly the goalkeepers, so they can't fly everytime to save long shots. In 1 vs 1, they should be quicker but they should NOT be able to recover so fast. Right now, you drible him and he turns back at light speed to recover the ball.

- Tactically, make playing counters harder. Right now, playing counters is too easy because the forwards are always unmarked at midifield. When a team gets "closed" in its own field the defending forwards should loose formation position easily.

That's my opinion by now. The goal is to allow skilled players to make a difference. Right now, the powerhouse players are dominant in the game. And to make defending harder, specially for teams that only play counters. In that case, they should indeed be space between the last defenders and the goal, but there should be NOT space between defenders and midfield. Right now, you know it, once a team attacks, always leave too much space between defenders and midfielders, and that leads to easy easy passes to the striker (who is generally alone) to start the ocunter. Hey, it even happens in corners!!!

- disallowed offside goals
- bring up defenders on corners/freekicks
- improve ball physics: harder shooting, rebounds (from adboards)
- more ingame cinematics
- improve broadcast camera (possibilty to switch between absolute (move stick right->player runs parallel to the line) and relative(currently used: if you hold your stick to the right, the player will run out of the pich sooner or later)controls)
- offline replays (from online games, too). My dream would be some kind of replay editor, where you can create your own highlight videos from different games...

Updated with new additions under the "---------".

- A sliding tackle without touching the ball should be always, at least, a yellow card. When a card has to be shown, there shouldn't be advantage play.

Haven't added this as its basicly against the games'(football) rules. If advantage is possible play continues and the player gets booked at a later time. We could edit it for a straight red card. But yellow just isn't realistic.

The goal is to allow skilled players to make a difference. Right now, the powerhouse players are dominant in the game.

Im not sure how to add this. After all we all want the stats to exagerate player skills to make them more individual and dangerous, yet wanting the powerhouses to be less powerfull only makes them and everyone else more generic.

I only play singleplayer so I love that when Drogba gets the ball and I have to defend against him its really tough. However I can understand your point if its to do with multiplayer/online. Then it can just get exploited. Maybe we can add that to the online section and make a difference between singleplayer and multiplayer. Although I'm not sure they will want to as it will probably cause to much hassle.

- disallowed offside goals

? Aren't offsides always called now anyway?

FFS, forgot to save the edit. Will do it again :(

The individuality in players is fine, may need slight tweaking but overall im happy with it. they need a new tackling/dribbling system.

i think they need to find a way to apply more the mentall atributes like determination, attacking agression or postioning on players..
that way we would differ players a lot more.

also, they still need to work on the GKs, its not the case that they have to be toned down, but they need to be reworked imo...the goal seems too small , i think mostly cause GK jump so far, like superhumans...also, i hate when those invisible saves happens, like when the goal keeper cant reach the ball but still saves the shoot, like if the collision detection was broken, those get me very angry.

Tik not sure if you added it as I can't see it, Injuries More needed and they need to be much longer and would be nice to get physio feed back and the chance to risk slightly injured star players etc.
Also to be punished if they get re injured.
The injuries at the moment are a joke and make the need for a squad pointless if you up your staff to combat the crazy 2 game and your tired fatigue system...

Spotted it in MM, just make sure it's in bold when we send it to EA...:P

I'd prefer less cut scenes and more things integrated into the play, so as to keep the reality of a live game,I want to see the ref run over and book a player or the trainer run onto the pitch to treat an injury not a cut scene of it...

Also we need real time wear and tear on the pitch and kits that get muddy when it's wet...

More grounds, there is plenty of space to add more, even if they are non generic and please lets have the ability to edit the names of them...

Haven't added this as its basicly against the games'(football) rules. If advantage is possible play continues and the player gets booked at a later time. We could edit it for a straight red card. But yellow just isn't realistic.

--> Sorry! I meant to stop play in straight red cards, of course!

Im not sure how to add this. After all we all want the stats to exagerate player skills to make them more individual and dangerous, yet wanting the powerhouses to be less powerfull only makes them and everyone else more generic.

I don't want them to reduce the power of strong players, it's great as it is. It was just a comment that as well as difference in strength and pace is well reflected in the game, passing skills aren't, as well as mental skills as someone else noted. If accuracy and skills play a major part in the game, players like Xavi would be as powerful as Gerrard if played in the right way. Right now, accuracy is too high no matter the skill. If you reduce A LOT accuracy depending on the skills, it would be another factor to make individuality.

If you watch arsenal and barcelona, for example, they have some players that are not strong or not fast paced at all, but can retain possession and win most 1 vs 1 simply by skill, like Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta... On the other side, players like Gerrard or Drogba SHOULD be strong AND quite accurate (not as much as Silva), that's what makes them very good. But a player like Diarra, Keita, Mikel, should have less skill, so they are strong and do a lot of fouls and body checks, but can't be too precise with the ball.

That finesse/technique/skills factor is really missing in the passing game, thus making all player feel the same when you do ping pongs all over the field. Hope it's more clear now! :P

They need to fucking fix the refereeing, some of it is the worst I've ever seen on a computer game.

There needs to be more movement in squads and transfers between other clubs, some clubs teams stay the same season in and season out.
There needs to be more variation in team selection with squad rotation for AI teams, with tired players rested and star players picked for the big games etc.
Also there needs to be more TF's by clubs in general, quite a few teams end up with minimal squads and you get the old not enough players in squad when you try to sign from them, the AI should never let it's squad fall below 20- 23 players.

The Passing gauge/meter is too sensitive for short passes especially on manual, the gauge should fill up slower

online leagues need to have a website, and they need to track everything, inlcuding having injuries if wanted. ALL ea needs to do is visit 2k's website for there sports games, its pretty amazing.

I'd like a new Manager Mode. Thanks. :)

Seriously though, gameplay wise there are 3 things for me:
Stats should be way more sensitive - League 1 sides with passing in the 50's should be worse at passing than Barcelona. Right now they're not.

More ways to beat the keeper - Shooting still feels scripted to me, like the AI decides before you say where to shoot if you're going to get it in or not, than produces the shot/save accordingly. It should feel liek you shoot, then the keeper dives, and that may produce a save, it may not.

Decrease AI cheats - I can't stand AI, people are just annoying to play against and use boring tricks of the game to beat you. So I play the computer. And the computer cheats, a lot. EA know this because they programmed this in. I know it's not psosible to be challenging without some of it, but watching my striker casually walk towards a ball as I'm hammering him to move his ass just long enough for the slow ass defender to catch up is going to cause me to break my tv. Soon.
