Evo Web Revolution is a global group of English Speaking gamers for Fifa 09 Be A Pro.
The squad manager is DagsJT (PSN ID: Dazimus).

We have a few rules that are to be kept to at all times

1. Play as a team. Pass to team mates who are in space and do not keep trying to score over and over from great distances or impossible angles. Remember that they will pass to you and set you up for goals so it's fair you return the favours.

2. Be friendly to other members - No forms of abuse or racism will be tolerated.. If you have any problems with how people are playing on the pitch or in the dressing room - ask them to stop or come to the managers with information on what they were doing and we will follow it up.

3. No screwing around - for example purposely scoring own goals or trying to get sent off. If you want to try and take everyone on with the goalkeeper go and do it off line.

Further rules may be added at any time, please keep aware of the this initial post for any rule changes/updates.


Most players from the previous PS3 BAP squad will receive their invite into the new team today. Those invited should aim to play a few games a week if they can. Even though we have a lot of places to offer out if we ever hit the limit of 50 those who do not play will be the first to be asked to leave to make room.


If you're not invited, then you may not have met the criteria needed. If you feel you do meet the criteria and still haven't had an invite, leave a message here and you'll be taken into consideration. Please don't be offended if you do not get accepted after consideration."

We will be organising "trials" for players who haven't had invites and are being considered. The dates and procedures for the trials will be announced shortly and anyone interested in joining the club should apply for the next trial. The managers will update the thread with trial details when available.


Most importantly, we play for FUN! Yes, we do like to win, but we also want to enjoy our games without feeling under pressure from teammates. Video games are meant to be fun, and we intend our club to be fun.

Well said I can say I haven't been on lately due to lack of online gaming capablity at my uni halls but im home most weekends so should be able to get a game in every now n then!

Invites have been sent - if you didn't get one then keep checking Eurogamer tomorrow from 12 for exclusive codes.

Failing that - If you didn't get an invite it was either due to the servers going down and me being unable to check who I had and hadn't sent them off to OR you haven't been online on fifa AND played BAP.

If you feel you deserve an Invite or would like an invite then post here

For anyone having trouble locating where you go to leave the previous club. Go into ONLINE MODES and work your way through the menus until you get to 'MY CLUB'. Go into the menu and on the first tab where it shows all of the members press :x: and select to 'leave this club'

You cannot join the new club until you have done this

My housemate has gotten off YouTube or YouPorn or whatever he was doing, looking at the router status, he's logged off and the internet seems a lot faster, hopefully no lag now!
 
I'm up for some games now, not sure I've been invited though. Gonna check.


Edit: Oh yeah, there's no invite. Any chance I could get into the team? :DD

That was fucking shambolic and frankly an embarassment. 3-0 down after 30 mins to a team who had a man sent off after 10 mins.

We need to go to basics. If you don't have a man to pass to, don't try to be a heroes and PASS THE BALL! DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PASS THE BALL BACKWARDS! And lastly, if in defence and the opposition is 5 foot in front of you, please don't try and pass through his legs.

The bloody opposition felt so sorry for us at the end that they started giving us the ball wanting us to score!

A fucking embarassment and just not good enough frankly. Yes we are playing for fun, but at least play football properly eh? :CURSE:

I really hate ANY when I have to control defenders though!

Oh, and don't be afraid to take the ball on if you're through on goal, we nearly always look for another pass :LOL:
 
Had some really frustrating games at the start of the night but we gelled a lot better as the night went on, resulting in some really good play and great moves.

I've decided I do hate being in defence, I really am guilty of ball-watching and just forget to move my player, really poor of me :((

Player of the night? YoungGun came in and made an instant impact, LawzE had good games up front but the POTN for me would be Scorp1o. A rock in defence, cool under pressure when he had the ball and I always had confidence in him tonight.

I thought I was at about 50% of my ability tonight. Started off excellent with Scorp1o and Winston, but dropped off as soon as more people came in, and picked up again at the end. Next time I aim to improve ten fold.

Scorp1o is a great any. YoungGun is a excellent striker to play with.
 
Good games today lads, First game i played CF and lead the line and it worked out great and got both goals but felt I should add more to the team so next game decided to go play "in the hole" with Aguero were I was sort of nullified then tried again and the same results. I work better as the front man it seems. As Lawze was playing CF I went for LM where I first started and thought I did well. Overall CF(Leading the line) is my best position with LM and LB when needed.

Our back 4 were immense when I joined, Rad is getting as consistent as Rio Ferdiand :DD Scorpio was great aswell, Its unfair for me to single out people because everyone was good.

Btw Lawze since it seems both of us are playing the CF roles we need to get a bit of a understanding, Do you prefer the Forlan role or the Aguero behind the front man role. Personally I would prefer the Forlan role but if you want to play there then im sure we could come to a agreement of mixing it up between us :))

It's kewl to be appreciated, though I have to say that everyone played very well last night. It gave me a real buzz when playing with you guys. Thanks for the great matches already played and for the great ones who will no doubt follow.
 
That game we lost 5-0 in.... One of their players is in the top ranked Midfield places so I thought I'd keep my eye on him and see what his trick is. Turns out it's just exploiting the game.

Here's what they do and after trying it myself offline it works and is very cheap and nasty.

1 - their first goal - take your guy from midfield and run at the goals so you're right in the centre of the pitch. as soon as your player steps in the white line on the edge of the box (not the half circle) hold L1 and tap shoot. If you did it right the ball WILL ALWAYS beat the keeper and either go in or clip the bar and come back out. The keeper will have jumped into the air for the ball and be on his arse now and its an easy tap in.
Try it on the loading kick about menu!

2. Every cutback they did was to a player standing on the penalty spot. Every time they attempted a cutback the men in the box were fighting over who would stand on the spot. The ball is passed to them or crossed and they shoot and either score or get a parried save. The pain in the arse is if you stand by them to game forces you into marking ONE of them but not both. So if the cross goes to the man you've been locked onto you can clear it, but if it goes to the other you've got no chance.
As they're right in the middle of the 2 posts then the keeper has to jump his furthest to get to a ball at either post so any loose ball means they have a big open goal to shoot into.


3 - They used the same trick (maybe it's not an exploit but it's a definite trick to use against a team who don't see it coming) as another team used against us - they took a corner and aimed it at the edge of the box and then someone ran to the far back post quickly. The ball is passed to them and they get that tight angle goal. At first I thought I'd just been caught ball watching but another 2 teams tried that same tactic later on in the night.
What happens is the AI controlled defenders track this guy back to our goals and if it's timed right they end up playing them onside. The AI didn't move in the earlier game as I was stood by them on the post.
If we have 10 or 9 of us online we should be able to avoid this in future.

After we got away from those we played amazing. Great team play and some stunning team goals. Miguel was awesome on the wings... what's your trick to twisting around the defenders? Do you not press run or do you hold L2 to close control the ball and twist through them? We outplayed most teams we came to all across the pitch. The only trick I know to out class people on the wings is if you're sprinting down and they're next to you attacking tap R2 and you'll stop dead with the ball and they'll run past you and then you can cross or pass it.


I noticed everyone up front were calm and kept the ball under control rather than panicking and making a blind rushed pass or taking a shot because they could.

Lawz and Young were the Cole/Yorke or Shearer/Sutton of Fifa09. One support guy feeding the other and returning it back.

Our last goal just before a bunch of us quit for the night was funny. I just remember 5 of you crowding the box, someone shot - it came off a players arse and young I think volleyed it into the goal.

I think it helped that we had a group together for a few games so we could develop some chemistry. Great fun. Gagging for more.

YoungGun - I prefer the Forlan role, leading the line and getting behind defenders, but I don't mind sharing back and forth since we can slot each other in at all times.

Radiation - That last goal was about 5 of us. I volleyed it off someones arse and then someone behind pounced on the rebound. Hilarious stuff.
 
I'd like to have an invitation for the club. I had not read the forums for two days and yesterday I was alone at the locker room of the older club seeing all of you guys connected online playing fifa. I didn't understand a thing and thought maybe everyone was playing single player (poor innocent of me)... If that story move a little your hearts I'm sure you'll invite me in.

I can play mostly at nights (at odd hours maybe).
