there is no point of me going on about this if u lot know where i'm from u'll undrstand me.

South London?

Sorry mate but i think your a fool for saying what you said. Its that sort of narrow minded opinion that the press use to blame videogames for everything wrong in the world.

Group hug everyone. I think all he's saying is that its typical of the entertainment industry to include black folk in negative roles the VAST majority of the times. . . ehh sports games excluded. LOL.

I see his point, too, cuz I cant think of any postive black characters in video games. . . other than Afro Thunder. He was a bad muthafucka!!

This game just looks so amazing...what's the first thing everyone's going to do when they get the game?

I'm gonna try and find that combine harvester and ride it into town. lol I really hope they have that Wurzels song in there, it would just be perfect.

They weren't kidding when they said it had better graphics.

From the early screens the graphics looked like VC's but now they look fantastic.

great screenshots, can't wait for this game. i just hoped it would come for xbox at the same time.

some info from Play UK:

- The Draw Distance in the countryside is 4 times better than that in Vice City.
- The Mountain, Mt. Chiliad, Is the biggest single object in the game.
- You will start to see clouds when you reach a certain altitude on Mt. Chiliad.
- There are tunnels and lots of foliage on the mountain.
- Two of the country side cities are Dillamore and Angel Pine.
- There is a Liquor Store and Trailer Park in Angel Pine.
- It is possible to attach and detach the trailer on the back of large trucks.
- Dillamore contains a Gas Station.
- A mission involves robbing the Gas Station in Dillamore, however it results in CJ and his accomplice stealing the large Gas Truck outside.
- The foliage in the countryside is only drawn when the player can see it which keeps the game feeling vibrant and alive, but also maintains a steady framerate.
- The M-16 Assault Rifle will make a come back.
- The longer the player holds down the R1 button, the more chance there is of getting a headshot on an enemy.
- Unlike previous GTA Games, the players stats actually change the way 'their Carl' will behave. If a player drives around on a bike a lot, they will be a good bike driver in the game, but won't be as good at driving a car.
- New vehicles include a 4x4 Jeep, Quad Bikes, A Monster Truck, A Combine Harvester, A Dirt Bike and A Gas Tanker along with what appears to be a Sabre, A Rancher, A Walton, A Greenwood, An Esperanto, A Sentinel, A Bobcat, A Virgo and a Manana from Vice City.
- The Monster Truck does not have a hand brake, but rather the ability to switch to 4x4 steering mode, which gives the vehicle an extremely small turning circle which is great for navigating through the trees in the country side.
- The Monster Truck also has the ability to drive through shallow rivers thanks to it's raised body.
- Players will have to be very careful when driving the Gas Tanker as it will Jack-Knife very easily.

Ha ha ha, sweet, how many people are you gonna be able to fu** up with that COMBINE HARVESTER!!

This is shaping up to be a fookin amazing game.

There are som many great games coming out sept/oct it's untrue. PES4, Burnout 3, GTA:SA.

I'm sure there are some I've missed. October seems soooo far away!!!

Is that a TRAM on the box cover?!? Id love to ride the tram, that would be emense, hopping on and off whenever you feel like it, or trying to dodge round one during a car chase. I like the sound of jack knifing a gas tanker!

Roll on October! When is it due out? The 22nd wasnt it?

Can't wait for this game now.

Every week Rockstar seem to be releasing info about features which nobody thought were possible.

Below is from C&VG.

OMG! Quality tunes!

GTA SAN ANDREAS: THE BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER?

G'N'R, KLF, NWA and Public Enemy!?!? Forget the game, this soundtrack well and truly rocks!

12:35 GTA: San Andreas is already the most wanted PS2 game in existence, yet if reports are to be believed, Rockstar has piled on the anticipation further by signing a wealth of scintillating musical masterpieces for its complementary soundtrack.
Comprising of late 1980s and early-mid 1990s tracks, the reported listing so far reads like a who's who of classic hard rock, hip-hop, trip-hop and indie.

Heart-melting rock balladry in the form of Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorn, spooky night-time '90s dance from oddballs KLF (3am Eternal), pulsating, smash-up-the-furniture grunge anthems from Nirvana (Smells Like Teen Spirit) and arguably rap's finest ever moment in Vanilla Ice's Ice, Ice Baby (watch it with the guffaws, lads).

And of course, Slash's guitar-twiddlin' masterpiece Sweet Child O' Mine, which was recently hailed the greatest guitar riff ever subscribed to record.

Absolutely brilliant stuff, especially if you're of the 16-30 age bracket. We want it. Almost as much as the game, in fact. But not quite.

Although Rockstar refused to comment on the 'GTA: San Andreas signed tunes' reports when contacted earlier today, the below tracklisting is what is currently believed to be on the soundtrack:

Salt'n'Pepa - Push it
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
Inner Circle - Bad Boys
KLF - 3am Eternal
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Guns'n'Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
NWA - **** Tha Police / 100 Miles And Runnnin'
Snoop Doggy Dogg - Gin N'Juice / Ain't No Fun
Warren G - Regulate
Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
Public Enemy - Rebel Without A Pause
The Stone Roses - Fools Gold
Happy Mondays - Step On
The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony
Radiohead - Creep

The have picked a good selection there, over a period of a few years.

I'm surprised they were able to use such popular songs. Obviously record companies have also seen how excellent this game is going to be.

I hope the game won't be too 'rap' or 'rnb' oriented.

I was worried about that too. I loved the Scarface vibe of the other too, I dont really wanna be running around in a hip-hop video. If the other games were scarface/goodfellas, this one looks like Boyz n the hood.

That article does give us a bit of info we never knew, the screenshots however show us plenty more

Some new info and screen shots.

New Information

 Rockstar programmers told us that maybe in the final game we can change tattoos or clotes on CJ.
 All game's pedestrians have a "brain" and they react more actively respect the past GTA's, with more animations.
 Dan Houser [co-founder of Rockstar Games] says that he cannot find any way to complete the game in less than 150 hours.
 The dimensions are enormous. Keep in mind that just Los Santos is as big as the entire play area of Vice City and it is just ¼ of the dimension of the map of San Andreas. Between the three centers, there is also the famous ‘countryside’, which we didn’t see and weren’t told anything about except that the visual profundity, in the pastoral region, will be four times that seen before.

-- There are three cities and twelve small towns, such as Angel Pine and Dillamore.
-- Players will once again find themselves equipped with a camera for some missions.

- The twelve small towns often consist of only two junctions and a few buildings, featuring a liquor store, bakery, pottery and much more.
- When flying, the radar map changes into an attitude instrument (artificial horizon), so orientation is easier.
- Realistic truck trailer physics.
- You can start your own gang and get your own gang weapons and cars.
- You can train your muscles to become stronger.

Three countryside missions:
In the 1st mission CJ has to help his buddy, who is hunted by a motorbike gang and needs a diversionary maneuver. So Carl races trough the forest in a jeep, with the gang after him - since they assume the victim is in the car. CJ has to stop them from destroying the doors to keep it a secret. As soon as you pass the checkpoint race your cellphone rings - your buddy is safe, and you get the $400 reward.

The 2nd mission starts at a trailer park. CJ is blackmailed into killing an important witness, who hides in a hut on Mt. Chiliad. Carl arrives there with a Sanchez, first killing two FBI agents and then the witness. Since the blackmailer wants to see evidence, CJ takes a photo of the corpse, and drives back to the trailer park.

For the 3rd mission in the demonstration, Rockstar used a cheat to spawn a Dodo to save time (claiming that using a car would have taken them 15 minutes), and lands near a small hut in the forest. There the gas station mission starts, where CJ and the yet unknown girl try to steal the tanker.

They also wrote that the PS2 lagged during their presentation, but they hope R* get this fixed in the remaining months, as well as a few boring and stretched countryside textures.

samap2.jpg

 Entire state of San Andreas included, meaning three cities will be present in the game, each connected by countryside. Los Santos, a fictional Los Angeles, San Fierro, a rendition of San Francisco, and La Venturra, which is the Grand Theft Auto version of Las Vegas.
 The twelve small towns often consist of only two junctions and a few buildings, featuring a liquor store, bakery, pottery and much more.
 Larger map, which is much more interesting and "alive" than Vice City. Hills have been confirmed, and even a mountain is to be included, which is tall enough to take up to ½ a minute to ascend in a helicopter.
 Tweaked Vice City engine, which can support up to four times the draw distance in rural areas compared to the previous game. Real time reflections, on metal areas of cars, and real time mirrors will be included.
 A great deal of effort has ensured that countryside areas look and feel organic, with rivers, forests, rolling fields and desert areas. The development team has also improved urban areas by rounding off what would previously be 'square', right-angled corners.
 Smog will be present in Los Santos to give it a "real life" feeling.
 In Las Venturra, set up a casino, or gamble in those owned by others.
 Countryside areas feature unique vehicles which won't appear in the urban areas, such as a quad bike.
 Improved transition between night and day, with a more immersive feeling included in each.

That soundtrack listing was found to be fake, sadly.

i don't believe the size thing until i see it, they also said Vice City was like three timer bigger than Liberty City, and then it wasn't.

all of this sounds very, very, very good though.

I just hope all of this stuff is true , because im getting very very very excited every time i read something...
