Anybody used these before to build a custom PC?

I got a fantastic spec before, for around £550. I will be ordering one in a few weeks, but i was wondering if anyone has ever used them before?

If you have, what are they like?

http://www.komplett.co.uk

i have bought a monitor and a few pc parts from komplett and the service is great.

no problems for me.

never built a custom pc from there though.

Sounds good then, I shall have a look on the internet see if I can find any peoples opions of their custom made pcs.

Cheers.

I might go for these.

cheapest I've found have been Komplett and PCSpecialist.co.uk

I would build the thing myself, heck I do it for a living. But I don't want the hassle of finding parts are faulty, having to send them back for refunds etc. At least the systems get tested when you buy them from a company. Although the delivery time is usually awful compared to doing it yourself.

Just ordered a system, so I will let you know how things go.

£700

E6750
2GB TwinX 800mhz RAM
8800GTS 640mb (Will add a second later on)
nforce-Sli680i P6N Diamond w/ Extreme XFI Sound
320gb SATA 2 Samsung Spinpoint
A kick ass looking case :D
OCZ GamestreamX 600w
The Usual DVD Writer etc

Yeah I found them two sites to be the cheapest.

Looks like a class system. I look forward to hearing how it runs :)

Well they delivered the thing yesterday, i ordered last Thursday. Would of been quicker had it not been for the weekend.

Built very well, excellent cooling, good cable management. No Fuss setting it up from the word go. (Ordered mine without an OS) Runs like a dream. All quality components used, and they give you lots of adapters/case stikers etc. I'd recomend them simple as that :D

Just ordered my system,

122990 Norman IC, 1 year license Virus Control,
105353 PC box
123324 SoftThinks Installation software,
316368 Cooler Master Ammo 533
312300 NorthQ 4775-500BULK, ATX 500W, 120mm
334476 Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, P35, Socket-775,
338082 Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67GHz 1333Mhz
312054 Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5
334402 Gainward GeForce 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 GS,
332072 Samsung SpinPoint T166 400GB SATA2
332374 Pioneer DVD±RW burner, DVR-112D, 18x,
110595 PC with no operating system

£547 built and delivered :) Will let you know how it runs. I've ordered without an OS. Is it just a case of gettin your OS disc in and letting it install straight from the off like youve formatted a HDD on an old comp? Presuming it is!

The drive should come formatted and configured in the BIOS etc., depending on the guys you've bought it off. As long as the BIOS is set (temporarily or permanently) to boot from CD before the hard drive, then all you have to do is stick the Windows disc in and the install should start.

I still highly recommend Vista x64, if you're not running any decrepid software or hardware. ;)

Well I have acquired x32 for now Jack but if in the future I think I really need it then I can always upgrade.

Is Vista Ultimate any good? Only installing it because I want a fresh new look to the computer, and I hear this is all the versions in one!

more than likely, you'll need to go into the bios and set the boot device priority to boot from the cd first, then hard drive second.

make sure the cd is in, then turn on the computer.

after a few seconds, you'll hear the cd being accessed, then it will say 'press any key to boot from cd...'

install windows, but note that during the initial installatoin phase, the computer will reboot and you will see the message again - this time DO NOT press any key, and just let it continue booting from the hard drive.

Where can I get Vista Premium for a very good price and is it worth it? I'm interested in building a PC that I will use for editing among other things but I'd rather get it without an OS because I've already got XP on disc.

Check this and this out.

Anyone heard of these guys?

I would say the first one for your needs! However, have you checked out Komplett?

I recieved my PC today and am made up with it, excellent packaging, cable management and a top notch system! :D

My PC is packing up slowly but surely and its time to get a proper one now, I'm edging towards Komplett, whats their customer service like?

You think you could make it yourself?

I had no idea how to make a PC, did a little research and made one alone! Pretty easy :)

Though Dell have some decent offers around sometimes, cheaper than buying the parts yourself, check out HUKD.

IT works out around £50 more expensive for komplett to make a system for you, so I went with them.

Cant fault them, this is a beast of a system and I have had 0 problems :)

Yup, had 0 probs with my Komplett machine and it runs like a beaut. High level on every game/app

Can have Firefox, Azuereus, Call of Duty and PES 2008 all running at the same time LMAO

Thats impressive, thanks for the feedback.

I still say make it alone, I'm sure you can source the parts very cheap if you shop around.

I don't know how to build it myself.

These have now stopped selling in the UK, France, Australia and somewhere else.

Shame, I only ever used them once, but they were super :)

what would currently be the best base (cpu & mainboard) to start of a new pc from ground up? looking for a reasonable price. i have no idea where to start of, the last custom i build was 6 years ago. i have no idea if intel or amd, what are the best mainboard brands at the moment, etc.

ordered my first new rig in 4 years time
