I can't help with Speedfan as not used it, however my laptop used to keep overheating and shut off when doing some power heavy jobs in Win7. My way round was to turn the power down for the processer under power options in the control panel.Click on change plan settings then change advanced power settings then a box should pop up, now under processor power management click maximum power processor state then bring it down a tad from 100%. I have mine at 95% plugged in and 80 on battery, since for me not one shut down.
