E3 2009 - The Official Thread

No major leaks really as of yet abit tight lipped i remember last year i think was when MS conference details leaked out before it was on.

Ironside?

Damn this game must be struggling, it's already about a year late and they're still only showing CGI? Guess I can scratch this off my wanted list, hopefully The Outsider will make progress instead.

Dont worry Placebo. I guarantee that you will be hearing a lot more of Splinter Cell: Conviction from tomorrow onwards. ;) As for The Outsider well lets just say I will give $1 million dollars to each forum member if that ever comes out. *

*1 million dollars will be in Zimbabwean or Ugandan currency.

Just read that Microsoft have moved their conference forward by a 5 or 10 mins for a shock announcement.

Yeah you could be right about The Outsider, very ambitious project for a small dev company to take on.

As for Conviction, the question is whether or not it's still the open world, free form game it originally promised, if not I'm not interested in it.

Wonder if we'll ever see White Gold released as well, another open world game that interested me.

I'm looking forward to the E3 coverage, especially the MS and Sony conferences, pretty exciting in a geeky way! :)

EA really seems to put down a lot of money on marketing Brütal Legend. I guess it will be more mainstream than Psychonauts, because even if it was an awesome game I don't think it sold THAT much.

Is MS do unveil a handheld device, have they left it too late?

DS is massive, PSP is very decent technically and about to get better and the iPhone is a genuine contender.

Will the public want another handheld? If they are going that route, then it HAS to be something VERY special.

Innovations of which none of the other have (though I suspect it would use a touch screen). It would have to load straight into the XBL dashboard (no good for travelling without Wi-Fi) and what about games? Cartridge? Disk? No, I suspect DLC only - which is ok as there are lots of good XBLA games, but its not really going to blow people away in terms of cutting edge gaming.

Veeeeery interesting announcement then eh?!

Looks like Sony are going to host their E3 presentation in Home. 'Presentation Podium' space is now available and streaming trailers from E3.

Wonder if they will risk a live broadcast (if that can be done yet?)

=== Oops... old news - sorry!

Folks at AVF are wondering if its Beatles Rock Band related, that seems plausible.

EA have just announced that crysis 2 will be coming to the consoles :LMAO: ahh well, there goes another game which pc users will get a rubbish console port like most multi platform games :(

i doubt crysis 2 will look as good as the first one.

LOL. Your on the button today Jonney! I will delete the post.

haha;) anyways, crysis 2 might look decent. we'll see if the consoles are up the task, PC's wasn't up to the task until recently with the latest graphics cards that are like 10x more powerful then the consoles GPU's

edit: how crysis 2 will look YouTube - (HD) CRYTEK CRY ENGINE 3 FIRST LOOK its a video of the engine that will be used for crysis 2

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift expansion packs detailed:

SPEED consists of three new tracks (Quicksands, Engorged and Dark Fire Swamp), three new track variants, four new vehicles and a new 48-event Mini Festival, "Speed Weekend".

ADRENALINE, meanwhile, also has three tracks (Reefrunner, Brimstone and Hollowed Earth), five new track variants, four more vehicles, six new characters and a load of new paintjobs for existing vehicles.

"Between these two packs, we're almost DOUBLING the track count in the game, giving you plenty more locations for online races, plenty more Time Attack ghosts to chase, and plenty more settings for split screen fun with your buddies," says game director Jed Ashforth.

There's no word on release dates or pricing yet, but both will be shown at E3, according to the US PlayStation Blog.

Quantum Theory using the Gears engine?

I wonder if Microsoft's announcement is this new 300,000 player MMO game they've started to work on?

Anyone got a link to the Gametrailers HD E3 coverage?

Yep, not in HD though. I've got IGN on and it's streaming well, just rubbish quality.

I'm only tuning in for this surprise announcement thing. After that I'm just expecting the same as last year from Microsoft which is a ton of 3rd party games that we've all seen already and chat about sales figures and boring things hardly anyone cares about.
