WWE All Stars

the first time I saw this I thought 'fucking silly over the top kids game, where is the sequel to the first legends game? - what a waste of the license'.

Now a week on I'm thinking 'hmm could be fun in a street fighter kind of arcade fighting game' they have the TNA Impact game guys working on it and that game was really limited but a hell of a lot of fun at the same time. the real drawback with TNA's was lack of moves and a terrible caw mode. So hopefully they'll be able to borrow as many moves from the SVR games as possible to solve that issue.

I'm probably more likely to have a look at this game than SVR 11 though as that franchise is just getting staler and staler

The WWE franchise is one that needs 'rebooting'. Each iteration seems to get worse as they add in new mechanics and its now (i think) too far advanced for newbies.

Perhaps this is going to be a sister franchise for the more casual gamer who doesnt want to memorise 10,000 button combo's or spend days tweaking CAWs?

I still think my idea of have a 'booking' mode (a bit like a 'Player Manager' mode), where you can run shows in a more realistic manner. Like hire new stars and manage salaries, have feeder organisations, create characters, injuries, ppv ratings etc etc. Then when the shows come around, then you can step in and take over. This doesnt mean you have to win every fight, just put on the right performance to get the result you have pre-determined for your franchise and build up rivalries to get fans interest etc.

(not much to ask!)

I'm with Placebo on this.

Yea, well I'm on 'Team Radiation'! :)

Did you ever play that wrestling management game that came out years ago? It was just what you described, and an editor to sort out the names of the wrestlers and belts etc.

As I say, it was a management sim so no actually playing the fights out but it was great to manage it all :)

Ah yea, saw this mentioned alot when I used to be right into the Attitude era and a frequent visitor to the TPW (The Peoples Wrestling website) forums.

Never played it though :(

They release a version recently as freeware. I think it's the 2007 edition so it's been improved on now. But it's packed with features anyway and you can download a variety of mods for WWF days, Attitude era or current day from bobinc and other places. It's all text based management though, so no in ring action.

WELL worth trying if you have any interest in wrestling and management sims, it's really detailed and has tons of stuff to do.

looks pretty shitty to me. I have come to conclusion that until spike return we wont ever see a great pro-wrestling game ever again. Yeah we may see average to good but nothing will be great or superb.

TNA game sucked and the WWE games are average. King of Colosseum II on the PS2 is still the best 3-D wrestling game ever made. It is miles ahead off all next gen titles.

What an absolute bag of shit. Complete waste of a license. Why can't the just give us a normal Legends game using SvR controls?

It's not really a waste of the licence - kids will buy this like crazy and it gives them 2 WWE games per year to make money off. Without people saying they're just reusing the same game with some tweaks twice like say Fifa does with the standard and world cup/euro cup/champ league games.

The models remind me of the Goombas in the Super Mario Bros movie...
