Whats stronger 2x Nvidia 8600 GT or 1 Nvidia 8800GT?

Hi I am planning to buy a new computer soon I went to PC world UK shop to have a look at some PCs.

One Official PB PC had 2x 8600 GT graphic card this means 2 graphic cards on one PC. Now my question is what is more powerful 2 graphic cards on 1 PC 8600 GT or 1 Graphic card of 8800 GT?
This is confusing me#-o, can someone clarify that

I have a very similar question, I have just bought a computer with the following, I have a 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT with 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 2048MB yet the processor is only Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz (3MB Cache 800MHz FSB) will this affect the number of games that I can play???

1x8800gt = about 5500 3dmark '06 score
