Nobody has started a thread for this amazing game so far so I thought I'd start one myself.
This game has been with a huge amount of care and quality to make it the best Mario game yet, if you didn't like Mario Sunshine you will enjoy this much, much more.
Its features the usual well crafted and enjoyable gameplay, the best graphics on Wii yet with some amazing artwork and fully orchestrated music to create the most magical game you've ever played.

Some information about Super Mario Galaxy for those who don't know what this is from Nintendo.co.uk:

What’s the one place large enough to stage Mario’s biggest adventure? Outer space, of course. Super Mario Galaxy is the latest in a long line of Mario platformers that will make you change the way you look at video games. From the amazing diversity of galaxies and a new array of special suits for Mario to the incredible control scheme offered through the Wii Remote, Super Mario Galaxy is the ultimate Mario experience.

In space, things aren’t always as they seem. Mario blasts off from galaxy to galaxy in an attempt to save Princess Peach, but he has nary a clue as to what new challenges await in the 40 unique galaxies. Luckily, he has your help, and you have the Wii Remote. With the Wii Remote, you’ll make Mario perform some of his most famous jumps as he tries to discover all 120 stars and find his way back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Super Mario Galaxy has that revolutionary feel of the famed Super Mario 64, and while perfecting the gameplay of the past, the game shows us the future of platformers!

•Mario dons new suits! As Bee Mario and Boo Mario, you’ll use these special suits to help Mario fly and turn invisible. What other suits will you find?

•Perform some of Mario’s greatest jumps in different gravitational environments. The wall jump, triple jump, backflip, side somersault, long jump and ground pound all make their presence felt among the galaxies’ diverse line-up of enemies.

•A new character, Rosalina, makes her debut. This Watcher of the Stars aids Mario on his quest to find her friend, the Grand Star, in addition to Princess Peach.

This game is truly stunning people, my PAL copy arrived from Ninty on Friday and I've put in a good 10 hours or so this weekend, it's an absolute gem.

Anyone considering getting a Wii for this, DO IT NOW!

Yea composite and S video on a HDTV doesn't do this game justice.
That's just pure laziness.
Apparently the game is out of stock with the suppliers till 2008 what the stores have in stock is what is left.

Yeah I actually tried playing this on my HDTV and straight away I noticed the graphics looked worse than playing on my standard normal 28inch.

It's good but it's a bit "serious". The graphics are stunning, like a Disney/Pixar film, but it takes itself very seriously which just feels... Weird. Lovely to look at but it's not very challenging either, it's not keeping me interested. This is the first Mario game where I actually wouldn't get too annoyed if someone said "it's a kids game" - that's just what it feels like. IMO, of course.

I just started playing this and it's SIMPLY STUNNING, the music is as awesome as I hoped and the graphics are so rich and colourful! :D

Were you a bit "dizzy" in the beginning? Man, everytime Mario was upside down I felt upside down myself... :D But after a few minutes I got used to it. Played 5 more hours of it, it's just so "nintendo". It's perfect.

This is the best game ever according to reviewers, it's knocked Ocarina of Time off #1 spot.
That is absolutely insane. My girlfriend is the biggest Nintendo fan ever, and even she thinks this new Mario is good but not great. It's easy, it's short, Ocarina Of Time is ten times better (according to her, I've never played Ocarina Of Time, but I've played SMG and I can believe it). I can't understand what's so great about it apart from the graphics!

it is easy but the game is awesome man!! dunno if it is the best game around but it is the best platformer no doubt..

Easily game of the year for me. So many times after a brilliant moment I just stop for a second and smile thinking "Wow, that is so Nintendo." So simple, so great...

"Yahooooo......." :)

Has anyone seen the secret message on the cover?

Where it say SUPER MARIO GALAXY spell out the letters with a sparkle on them.

U R MR GAY:lmao:

I am not far through Galaxy at all, but it amazes me that anyone who enjoys platforming games and/or Mario games cannot enjoy this game. I simply cannot find a fault in the few hours I have played - amazing game.

Mature games like FPS's are popular nowadays people just ignore these kind of games no matter how quality it is because it isn't 'Cool' and you can't 'shoot anything'.

Galaxy revitalizes a forgotten genre.
