PS3 scart connection

Does the PS3 remember the last connection it had to a TV?

e.g. does it remember it is in HD mode if connected via a HDMI cable?

I am trying to get my mates PS3 to work on my SD TV via the same scart lead that I used for my PS2.

Is that even possible?

I got it.

You hold in the power button for 3-5 seconds.

Wish I hadnt got it mind you.

I need a new TV, that was awful
