As per FIFA 10 last year, a separate thread for all media reviews. Gamesmaster Magazine have kicked it off this year, scoring FIFA 11 with a pretty incredible 94% and the claim that it's "the best football game ever". No scans as yet, only an article :

It's unknown if they've scored the game that highly from extensive play testing, as it was only after a few weeks last year when the bugs of 10 came about. Still, nice start.

Keep 'em coming, when and where.

Praise is pointed at the new Be a Goalkeeper mode, more realistic passing engine and, excitingly, interactive celebration cutscenes (described as "possibly the best part of the game").

Don't know what to make of that, but I'm going the glass half empty route...

Just bought Gamesmaster Magazine at lunchtime. 5 page review of FIFA11, and it does indeed score 94%. They're pretty much up it's arse from the get go, too. You also get an A1 sized pull out of how to do all the new tricks/moves/celebrations, and on the reverse it has every Premiership club and the individual ratings for each player.

5 pages? That shouldn't take that long to type up in a post!

:SHAKE: Do they realize that's just a complete waste of trees! EA will release a squad update as soon as the game hit's so the ratings they are pulling from the game will be changed!

I remember on one FIFA Zurawski was rate 85 on the original copy, the immediate squad update lowered him to 76 :CONFUSE:

That's why i stopped buying magazines after the stupidness regarding PES 2008!

Any chance of some scans?

Crikey.

I wonder if 1 - 2 weeks is a long enough playtest to find the bugs, which will no doubt come out in force soon after the full game is released.

Eh? The commentator stuff is "American", and poor imo. But saying players don't have enough individuality to actually make you have to use them is spot on! Or the fact that CM is little more then a calender with pointless emails is another valid critism imo. Also highlighting the problem EA are having with trying to keep the game essentially the same with very little improvements is another valid point, we've been moaning about it for the past few months. Or actually highlighting the bugfest from 10 and reserving comments about the CM is another valid point. Or that FIFA shouldn't rest on it's laurels as that's when it goes wrong, which is an accurate point as a lot of us on the FIFA forum are on the fence about both games and it could easily go PES' way.

So out of the 6 main points in the review, 5 are what we have been saying on the forum for quite some time.

So how is that a strange review?!

If it doesn't score at least 95%, it's strange.

:PIRATE:

That's only because everyone is up their arse! :D

95% means that a game is nearly perfect. And we all know both FIFA and PES are nowhere near that. Tbh I find the scores to be irrelevant, it's more the points made in the review that are important. And so far that is one of the few to have made the points the more hardcore have been saying for some time.
