I'll just type any thoughts that plop into my head

Battlefield Bad Company feels like it has more weight to it when moving around. I read some people saying they thought it felt sluggish... but I took it as it feels more like you're lugging around all your equipment.

Tanks/Jeeps/Choppers are very cool - although I can't control the chopper online even though the SP mission in the chopper was easy.

Different classes seem to have more specific uses and overall lends towards a better TEAM based online game with BF - You can't pick the rocket guy and blast everything with a silenced machine gun and then sniper someone and then heal yourself. Each side needs a good balance to win.

It's like a big game of Rock/Paper/Scissors where you need Demolition guys laying anti tank mines and blowing shit up with their rockets and also getting into CQ battles with their shotgun.

A few snipers (Recon) out to snipe out attackers, use their air to ground missile to take out vehicles and to spot enemies for the other teammates.

Assault are the grunts - you need a few of these guys to soak up the bullets for you if your another class - and they have the 'life2' upgrade that injects them with a health boost when they're hurt so they can keep going and going for longer than the energiser bunny.

Specialist class is becoming my favourite now for attacking - you have the silenced weapons so you don't make a load of noise when killing people after flanking them. and the C4 is one of the best weapons in the game and is massively underused. You run up to a gold crate, throw all of your C4 down... step away... detonate and either instantly destroy the create or damage it really good.... the best bit is you don't give away that your next to the crate like if you planted the bomb there. AND... you have the tracer gun which enables anyone playing demolition to lock missiles onto your tagged targets and fire homing missiles

Support class was my favourite attacking class though. You have the medic packs to heal yourself and team-mates. the mortar strike to call in a strike where ever you aim and a huge feking gun
As seen here after taking a chopper down

I've not noticed a big difference in classes with COD4 other than if you pick the sniper class. The rest all feel the same and as you can kill with a few shots it doesn't really matter which class you pick as long as you can aim straight.

COD4 has a better ranking system and challenge list. Not that BF's is bad... it takes a long time to rank up to level 25 and the trophies/awards are going to take a while to get. But CODs just seems bigger and seems to have more to it.

I could be wrong but that's just what it seems to me.

Random little extra thoughts

BF has bigger and probably better maps.
COD4 has more game types
BF Has the destructible environment
COD4 has the better SP campaign
BF has online track able stats and photo mode to show off
COD4 is easy to pick up and play well at

Which do I prefer...

I'd probably pick BF BC

At the moment I have played BF for a few days, and if I had to choose I reckon Call of Duty is better. The online ranking, and the way you play online seems more fun and it also has more variety. BF does have some very good things, it gives more feeling in the game when your walking with your weapons and gear. While COD the movement isn't as realistic but the story mode is more fun, and more clear as it's different and gives you more chances to take cover when your needing time to think about what your doing.

BF also has some nice features such as the collectables and such, which is an extra I love.

Overall COD4 for me.

I didn't like the BF BC demo but I understand why some people can prefer this to COD.

So COD for me (and I don't like driving vehicles :)).

It's possible that I change my opininion if I buy BC in a couple of months and if it's really THAT great.

I have both, I am going to keep both. I enjoy killing in CoD4 more (that sounds bad) - because when you shoot people a couple of times, they actually die. In Battlefield you have days where you shoot someone over and over and over, and they just walk off. I don't get many kills but I get loads of kill assists.

Saying that, Battlefield is more tactical I find - and like Rad said somewhere else, once you've blown a wall off the side of the house that the objective is in, it's hard to go back to them "turning a bit black".

I really couldn't choose one over the other because CoD4 is less frustrating, but Battlefield, perhaps, more rewarding? Depends on what mood you're in I suppose, but I'm really glad I've got both, one on each system as well.

CoD4.

I really didn't like Battlefield at all, I found it unfair.. I know CoD is but as soon as someone got into a tank that's it, you knew you were all dead, and they could stay in it for AGES. I like the choice of guns in CoD too. The only "let down" with CoD is the cheaters, but I've just started leaving the lobby with a cheater in a finding one without, the games so busy online so it's easy to find another lobby.

Battlefield

Bigger maps, destructible stuff and Vehicles what more do you want?

I find people in tanks really vulnerable - You really can't stay in one for too long. People either plant c4 on it. Or rocket launcher it or you get a sniper who can bomb it with there special thingy magingy.

If you play the full game it is brilliant - you get more weapons and when people are in a vehicle it makes them quite vulnerable.

I also think killing people is better - Unlike COD4 when I can literally empty all my ammo into somebody and they just kill me. I haven't had this yet - or not as much or obvious. It just feels like it should to me.

Odd, considering JB said the opposite and that he can fill people with bullets on BF and they don't die.

I know - Thats what I thought.

But honestly - People in COD I find so frustrating trying to kill them - Especially when they have their shield thing on.

People on this you know that 90% of the time it takes the same amount of bullets to kill everyone (Depending on what gun you use)

I think there is something the Assualt class can inject that gives them a bit more energy - But I haven't got that yet.

So I think its completely opposite from JB - Crazy How different people see things.

That is weird Bob, I do find a lot of guys on CoD4 who you can't kill but on BFBC it's "the norm" - I've started going for headshots now, meaning I will completely miss the guy 90% of the time, but the 10% of the time that I do land a bullet on the guy he's gone in one shot. I notice that's how I usually die as well, with that little "headshot" icon next to the weapon when you're shot.

I don't find it that hard to kill on BF - maybe the problem is coming from COD4 where you can tap the fire button a few times to send off a few bursts of fire and still kill someone.

If I see someone on BF I just aim down my gun at them and I don't stop firing until they die.

Though if you're unloading a full clip down the sight with your gun fixed on the target and still not killing them... then I'm totally at a loss why that's happening.

Keep playing the demo and get to the point where you unlock the 'find all 5' gun - if you want MORE MORE MOOORRREEE at that point then buy. If you're a bit fed up then maybe not. I will say though that I thought I'd hate Oasis by the time the full game came as i was getting sick of the map but I love playing it now... its like being given a classic map from a game as free dlc in the sequel.

Most people that have said that they prefer COD4 don't seem to have BF:BC (Full game)so this poll is rubbish :-pp

haha yea could be true. i prefer bf bc because it has mroe variety in a game and is more fun. cod4 gets boring really easy and i never understood all the fuss about cod4. its not that different to cod1 cod2 etc and once you play those games you will realize that nothing is unique about cod4 besides teh modern warfare feel of it.

cod4 to me is just a bog standard fps game

I've decided to put COD4 on eBay and I'll buy BF from ShopTo for £28.99.

If the full game isn't what I'm hoping for, I could easily just trade it for COD4 again.

Good plan - Just give it a chance. When you get a few unlocks it makes the game much better.
