https://www.h1z1.com/home

Below is taken from http://www.reddit.com/r/h1z1

Gameplay Details

  • First Person or Third Person shooter
  • Zombie Survival
  • Night is dark and full of terrors
  • Player versus Player at it's core.
  • More than just zombies in the world
  • Base Building, Town building, Fortress creation
  • Can burn down things others build.
  • Lots of crafting. Probably the biggest thing about the game.
  • Vehicles are already in. Possibility of aircraft in the future.
  • Based off the United States.
  • If you die, you lose your gear
  • "No skills or levels".
  • "Thousands of players". I'm willing to bet this will be larger, playercount wise, than planetside 2.

Tech Details

  • PC first, PS4 later. "Well, we are Sony" when asked about the PS4 version.
  • "If you can run Planetside 2, you can run H1Z1 better".
  • "Orders of magnitude larger than Planetside 2".
  • Based of Planetside 2. Shares no tech with Everquest Next (so no Voxels).
  • Built in voice chat options.

Monetization Details

  • Free to play
  • Part of the All-Access subscription that SOE is launching this month. $15/mo for premium sub in all SOE games.
  • "you seriously don't need to spend a dime. We're still figuring out the monetization but we will telegraph our plans early and let people comment and we'll listen if they don't like something and come to a place where people feel good about it." -Smed, in this thread
  • Early Access ($20ish, on steam) in 4-6 weeks.

When do we get more details?

  • Screenshots will start coming out almost immediately.
  • The next playtest will be Live streamed (I have good intel that it will be Monday).

I know someone who is a programmer at SOE and he's told me this is going to be one incredible title.

I for one am looking forward to it. People comparing it to Day Z - I am not buying into that. Day-Z is a mess and looks dated in comparison.

DayZ looks dated compared to H1Z1? Not a chance! H1Z1 looks to be visually a slightly improved State of Decay IMO, not that I have a problem with that as I love State of Decay but H1Z1 certainly is not visually impressive in any regard, I'm yet to see anything that isn't an almost complete rip-off of DayZ in H1Z1, hopefully they'll start showing some of their own imaginings further into its development.

Initially I was all set to buy into it and purchase the early release from Steam but that live Twitch stream they did was very poor (yes I know they had technical problems) and it put me off a great deal, hopefully their next Twitch will show big improvements.

I will defiantly try this but it just looks such a DayZ rip off.

It just sounds like someone has decided to rip the best DayZ experience possible in Epoch and create it for a different version.

First Person or Third Person shooter - DayZ
Zombie Survival - DayZ
Night is dark and full of terrors - Namalsk
Player versus Player at it's core. - DayZ
More than just zombies in the world - Namalsk
Base Building, Town building, Fortress creation - Epoch
Can burn down things others build. - Epoch
Lots of crafting. Probably the biggest thing about the game. - DayZ
Vehicles are already in. Possibility of aircraft in the future. - DayZ
Based off the United States. - Whoopie a new idea
If you die, you lose your gear - DayZ
"No skills or levels".
"Thousands of players". I'm willing to bet this will be larger, playercount wise, than planetside 2. - This might add something new

Can someone show me a feature not ripped off from DayZ Epoch??

+ DayZ does look dated it is a 5 year old engine. But Arma 2 is still a far better game engine than Planetside 2.
It is just a shame they didn't use Arma 3 engine for DayZ as that is by far the best military engine out there.
