Wish List PES2009

My wish: a decent, playable game...
...maybe PES6´s gameplay with pes2008´s graphics a little bit improved...
...decent goalkeepers...please...

I wish it has the Egyptian national team licensed because we are
6 Times Champions of African Cup of Nations (1957/59/86/98/2006/2008)
and we are going to the world cup 2010 "I hope"
and I think we deserve to be in the game !

better graphics on... pitches, goals (like pes 5),

Better positional play - not running around like kids in a playground.

Does this make anyones wish come true ?

Konami unveils new modes and gameplay additions as PES 2009 strives to band together PES players in the quest for football perfection
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has revealed further details of the many gameplay additions in its forthcoming PES 2009 title, and has explained its unique ‘PES Unites’ slogan that has been designed to band together fans of the beautiful game via its new game modes.

PES 2009 has been reworked from the ground up. New player models, AI elements and physics routines all combine to create the most advanced and realistic football game ever, but at the heart of PES 2009 are two new modes designed to make players rethink the way they approach the game.

‘PES Unites’ is the key phrase Konami is using to sum up the ethos of the new game. PES 2009 also improves on its many existing game modes and adds a number of new ways to play the game. Central to this is the new ‘Become a Legend’ solo mode, which casts the user as a midfielder or striker within a match. Using a default vertical camera view, the player starts as a rookie pro at the start of their career, and charts the many highs and lows of becoming a professional player.

The PES series has always been famed for its deep yet accessible control system, but the new game is aiming even higher. PES 2009 offers an unprecedented level of control, redefining the intricacies of first touch, close control and ball distribution, while also enhancing its shooting and AI mechanisms to create an all-round footballing experience. Konami’s Tokyo-based Pro Evolution Soccer Production Team has introduced new control systems wherein the player can now perform tricks and feints without the use of special moves, but within the context of the player’s run and via rapid turns and movements of the Dpad or analogue stick.

Producer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka and his team have also worked to extend the remit of their Teamvision AI routines, with on-screen team mates adapting their tactics according to current situations, and moving into space to assist the player in attacking and defensive situations. Teamvision also recognizes strategies that work for or against it, and will accumulate the data for use in Master League and League mode.

The ever-present Master League has also been reworked, with negotiations now a lot simpler and conducted on a two-tier club and personal basis, while loyalty now plays a part with disaffected players’ moods having an adverse affect on their performances.

Adding an all-new layer of gloss to PES 2009’s much-enhanced realism, the game has also undergone a radical aesthetic upgrade. Stadiums now have more realistic environment and atmospheric elements, while the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 versions will also showcase LED hoardings. Likewise, the way distance is shown has been changed, with the use of contrast adding a depth field to the action, while there is also a new vertical camera angle that automatically switches to a closer proximity during key one-on-one situations.

Every player in the game has also been totally redefined, with all new face and body detail, with further facial animations and kit detailing adding to the realism.

The game’s Edit mode has also been boosted with the ability to create bespoke matches via the importing of faces, kits, and even sound files for specific music and crowd chants for any team. A new Pixel Paint system has also been integrated, allowing players to create their own club crests and badges to add to their home-grown kits.

“We have pulled out all the stops to make PES 2009 a landmark in footballing games,” commented Jon Murphy, PES Project Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “From the most basic controls, through to the wide-ranging additions to game modes such as ‘Become a Legend’, all-new visuals, sound, and the Edit mode, Seabass and his team have strived to cram as much as they can into the new game. And with more online announcements to follow, there is every reason to believe that PES 2009 is the football game everyone has been waiting for.”

“It is an honour to know that our game is enjoyed by so many people from different backgrounds,” said Takatsuka of the new additions. “From top professional players, to football enthusiasts and kids who just want a kickabout in the streets, its appeal is widening all the time. The new Become a Legend and Legends Modes are designed to convey the pressure and pace a real pro experiences, with players working as part of a strong side and working to prove their merit as a player. I feel great and motivated when people enjoy our games, and feel the new modes will open up new ways to enjoy PES.”

Let´s hope 1/4 of that to be true...
Actually, I really don´t care about the "become a legend" mode, real fun of football games is to play them with your friends, so all I really care is having a decent gameplay experience, the rest is just secondary and can be fixed/improved by the kitserver´s team and rest of great editors in this community and others.

Certainly. Konami havent even looked at the complaints, well I know this isn't an official pes forum. But still there should be some atention being paid!
From the video that I saw not one idea seems to be in it!
If there's more videos I can judge more but this video isn't even the best that can be shown by konami. The presentation is pretty poor. No sound, no commentary, they should be more organised.
I feel quite let down.

I think KONAMI could do these things, that are really simple but everybody would notice and like:
- Have a lot of balls and boots and stadiums to choose, like 30 or more, instead of 5 or 6
- Have an option for teams to have a 3rd kit
- Option to choose different scoreboards, in PES 6 there was an option to choose different types of those boxes that have the names of the players during the replays
- Option to choose different types of nets

And some more gameplay-related suggestions:
- PLEASE, the GK's motion has to be enhanced. in pes 2008, it just sucks.
- When it's raining the field should become irregular, with ups and downs due to the water and mud
- Substitute players warming up and managers arguing with the referees
- The commentators should be more excited when there is a goal opportunity or a goal, they talk about a hat-trick like who talks about their new pair of socks
MASTER LEAGUE
- Master League more detailed, with option to get fired and go to another club (like in Football Manager)
- Possibility to pay for players in instalments
- Inscribe players in competitions

I think that these suggestions could really (in, realistic) be made by the pes team, and they would make pes 2009 a better game.

Holy shit.....not good. Lets hope that keeper was on a grey arrow.

I know it was only Mascherano a defensive midfielder but the shot was waaaayy sloooooooow.

I noticed he picked 'Amateur' level, but you'd still expect the keeper to be better than that!

I think that Geezer doing the demonstration was quite embarrassed.....he looked it when the audience applauded that ridiculous goal.

Another F:censor:NG joke from KONAMI! First, they put "some" guy to show us the game...and he doesn´t know how to play it!!!
Second, he shoots from like 40 mts with Mascherano (with his left foot) and goalkeeper misscalculate ball´s trayectory in a horrible scary way!!!
I was really amazed of how he showed dribbling "changes" (100% sarcasm)...
They say they have "improved" player´s motions and all players walk exactly the same way when they get into field... OMG!!! That´s super realistic!!! :SS
I feel soory for those who buyed konami´s last year shit and I hope they don´t make the same mistake this year if konami brings us another crappy game...

ps: another thing...who plays matches in "amateur mode"? Not even 12 year old boys wich have never played any PES series :SS. This guy never touched PES series more than a few minutes and they actually send him to show us the game!

WAJ! (what a joke!)

At least I hope the editing thing will be easier then PES08 when adding stadiums, teams, faces, kits etc.
Just like PES6, just download and put in a folder, whooala, it works.
Sad PES6 cant have bigger leagues, like div 3, detailed player stats durig ML, more eye candy and so on... A crossing between Football Manager and PES6

I just hope that there is no more Div2 Cup. There should only be 1 cup where teams from both div can participate. It will be more interesting. If you are in Div1, you will relish the prospect of meeting a Div2 team and vice versa. Konami if you're listening, please grant us this wish. Also bring back the stretcher & head bandage. Last but not least, if a player is badly injured bring back the ambulance but this time with ambulance sound so that we know where our player is heading.

Today was a disappointing day.... I realised that the licensed Champions league is going to be a separate mode by itself in PES 09!!! Its not going to be inside the master league!!! (what the @#<.!!!) I really feel very disappointed !! Its a disastrous decision by Seabass and his team!!! How can they put Champions league separate from the master league!!??? So in PES 09 we again will have the stupid "European Championship"...... Also I really think we should voice out the lack of licensing for english league and most things.. We should let konami know its a serious handicap and if they dont fight for the licensing rights, PES will eventually lose out to FIFA!!! I think Seabass and company are just too LAZY to come out with exciting ideas, it is VERY VERY FRUSTRATING that champions league is not going to be inside the master league!!! CAn someone PLEASE tell me is there a way to feedback to them??!!

Don't worry that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is the gameplay and online mode!:-D

because keepers never make mistakes eh, as an arsenal fan i remember nayim from the halfway line. TBH it was almost impossible to score from long range before if there is a possibility of a keeper mistake its all the more realistic

Not 5 keeper mistakes every game like in PES2008.

All i need to see now is..

1. Fixed Goalkeepers.
2. Fixed Online with typing communication again.

The rest, we can patch.

Just played the demo. It still has the old 'pass going in a totally different direction to the way you wanted sometimes'. It doesn't look too bad though.
I just wish they would take out all the cut scenes and replays as I want to play, not watch. I've ruin many start buttons on my controllers trying to skip past the annoying referee running and pointing, etc. Why can't they put an option for no replays like they used to have?

nullify movie playback?

Here's what I'd like to see to make the game more challenging.

1. Games should be scripted to make it more exciting.
2. Stats should mean nothing when playing the COM.
3. You should have no room at throw ins and even have them intercepted sometimes. The human should not be able to get close at a throw in.
4. Through balls should half the time go to a completely different player.
5. Cards are just for you, not the COM.
6. If there is a really good pass on, it should sometimes go to a different player that is offside.
7. When the COM is winning, nearly every tackle you do should be a foul.
8. I'd like to see the referee and lots of replays of nothing interesting or important.
9. Human players should stop when tackled so you can't challenge for the ball too quickly.
10. short free kicks when aimed should either hit the wall or go to a COM player.
11. when you are running for a loose ball the human player should either run slower or involuntarily change direction so you don't get the ball.
12. Human players tackles should always either rebound to a COM player or go for a throw or corner.
13. When you pass the ball in your own area it should sometimes go straight to a COM player.
