You could see how much the team was lifted just by his presence. He gives the side an air of unpredictability, the stuff he comes up with you can't legislate for and it sharpens our attacking edge no end.

The year I think we have the least chance of doing well in europe and all of a sudden we look at ease in the CL. Mind you opponents are poor. Hope we dont get suprised when we come up against some 'real' opposition.

Yep that's the thing Arsenal have basically got the easiest group in the competition and finishing first won't guarantee them an easy draw especially if a team like er Real Madrid end up finishing second in their group.

No it probably won't be, like all the other years!! We should be topping this group as the opposition are weak. But you can only beat who is put in front of you.

However, as Liverpool proved last season, once you are in the knockout stages anything can happen.

At this moment in time we have 1 foot in the 2nd round after matchday three, we are happy with that. I am certainly not gonna get carried away.

Exactly that! The group stage is purely mathematics, just gotta get through it and then prepare for the real contest. There are easy group games, but I genuinely believe that any team in the last 16 can beat any other in the last 16. Porto and to a lesser extent Liverpool prove it. It's anyone's title once you get through the groups!

And I agree, we'll need to purchase in January.

Supposedly Wenger had 50mil to spend in the pre season.
Brought in Hleb for like 8mil and sold Vieira for 13mil. (or close to those figures)
So Wenger would still have 50mil to spend if needed.

Is it only me that thinks we are a bit of a one man team.

Before Henry came on (in the CL match) we weren’t looking like we could do anything! Then Reyes got injured, Henry came on and scored two goals for us. What do lot think?

And also it’s a god damn shame how we haven't got that many English players in our first team squad, we've loaned out Bently (who looked like a really good talent), loaned out Hoyte, sold Taylor…..and BOY! It looks like Ashely might leave in the future.

He messed up basically, but Henry cant shoot because that would be a pass adn ou have to shoot from the spot.

no you don't have to shoot, you just can't pass backwards and can't touch de ball twice, cruyff did it successfully during his time at ajax

There is something else no-one on here has said:

Pires did touch the ball, but I thought it had to roll a whole 360 degrees before it was in play? Therefore the kick should have been re-taken.

Still don't get how City got a free kick out of it though.

as long as he touched the ball, no matter 10 deg or 1 deg... its still count as a touch
