You get tired, how's that? You don't get any decent Scottish football coverage at all, it's 99% English, how do you get tired? Or do you mean on this messageboard?

Same here until I went to Scotland the day we got knocked out by Brazil and so many houses in Edinburgh had actually gone to the trouble of buying Brazil flags to fly outside their houses!

As for the bias down south at least you get to see some football up there, Rangers V Celtic is on quite often on BBC Scotland but can't be seen down south unless you watch it through Sky. Maybe the same should be done with England internationals so you don't have to complain about listening to motty!
 
What is a Girder? - just thought, i haven't got a clue! Irn-Bru is a quality drink, I will give the Scots that much.

No, I'm saying I think you would hate us either way.

I get tired of people's rambling on about us all over the internet, Scottish people I've met are like this, and you get the occasional bitter Scot on the TV too.

It gets tiring, really. It's the same over and over. "Motson this, Motson that", "you always go on about 1966", even though from my experience, the Scots go on about it far more than we do, "I hate those hooligans", even thought it's a minority, "I hate the English media". You get the idea.

I guess Scotland does have some understandable reasons to cheer against our NT, but when a couple of our low lives throw a chair in the air in the same country as a tournament like Euro 2004, and you hear cries for us to get booted out by your lot, it's kinda annoying, especially when it was actually British tourists (Yes, I said British) who were causing the trouble like they do every year.
 
And I said I wouldn't mind the team if it wasn't for your OTT media, so you are calling me a liar. You're saying I have some sort of 'in-built' hatred for the England team, purely because they're English. Stop talking pish please. :roll:

If you don't like people "rambling" on the internet, then don't read the topics or go elsewhere. "Change the channel".

A few England fans have posted in this topic about Motson and other folk (Jonathan Pearce for example), so don't go saying it's anything to do with Scottish hatred when it's your own countrymen who bring it up (that's right, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's the case in this thread).

Hooliganism is another topic entirely.

It takes over entire topics when England play in a major tournament, like it did last time. Should I leave the thread everytime one of our topics gets over taken?

I hear Scots moaning about them on other forums and stuff all the time.
 
No, we Scots should just stop posting because we're tiring you out and we're in "the minority". And there is no "our" when it comes to topics, everyone one here has the same right to post their opinion - if you don't like that, then it's your problem and yes, you should avoid the thread.

Fine, since it's a opinion free for all, whenever I see a Scotland thread, I'll just jump in there and post a load of anti Scottish crap all over the place. I'll do it so much that you will get sick of reading it and have the leave the thread. Deal?

Look who made this thread, and what the thread is about. A Scottish user, and a thread about the English media. No one is taking over anything, or posting anti-English crap, they're posting their opinions on the English media (hint, that's what the thread is about).

God forbid anyone should like to see the English get beat eh, that'd make them bigots and racists. :roll:

I dont like to get involved in these too much because people will never change their outlook no matter what, but if you can manage it someday Mikey, try sitting watching an England game with Motson commentating, take an unbiased stance and trust me you'll be either rolling on the floor laughing before half time or sitting in disbelief at the utter shite eminating from his mouth.
It's funny, because it's not only the things he says about England and their greatness that annoys people, it's the subtle derogatory comments about the opposition that take the biscuit. Listen out especially against Trinidad and Tobago, they'll be referred to as "great little workers" when they get back quickly when England attack or "plucky little Caribeans" when they win a tackle. It's been like that for years, with plenty of British commentators, most notibly BBC and ITV ones though.
 
I came on this forum as a PES-fan but also because i adore English football (and i still do as a matter of fact).
There are lots of nice English people on this forum (hunderds).

But i have to say that since a come here daily my sympathy for the English national is less than before...

Same goes for the Premiership which is my favourite championship but not as good as most people here think.

And in Europe English teams are underachievers...(yes i know Liverpool won the last CL and Man Ut in 1999, so what???...and yes i know not a single Belgian team succeeded in winning the CL or ECI).

To illustrate this.
The thread about the best British side ever in one season. To most English people on this forum it simply was inconceivable that a Scottish team could be the best Brittish team ever (the Lisbon Lions). Even when i and some other (Scottish??) people pointed out that that is the objective truth (they are the only Brittish team that won absolutely everything in one season) people came with silly arguments...it simply is not possible that a Scottish team can be better than English.

I'd actually more than likely back England if it wasn't for the English media.
I have a few english mates,and even they are embarassed by some of the guff the tabloids come out with.
FWIW,can't see past Brazil myself.
The true genius that is Ronaldinho,a joy to watch.
Any chance of him signing for the Hearts...?

There is nothing wrong with wanting someone to lose, there are many rivalries in football and fans revel in the downfall of the other side - it's normal. All folk have done in here, well me personally, is try to explain the reasons behind it. All you've done is for some reason is call them liars and choose to believe they have an ingrained, bigoted and racist viewpoint of the English.

You are extremely small-minded.

Nonsense, you clearly haven't been reading my posts properly. I think you would hate out football team regardless of the media because we are next door neighbouors, not because of an in built hatred. Kinda why Liverpool and Everton fans hate each others teams I spose. I already said it was understandable why you cheered against us.

I'm done with this thread now, I can't be bothered with it any more.

Let me just say...

English media blows because they are so two faced it is untrue. One minute we will be World Cup winners, the next we are total shite and they are printing about how John Terry got drunk in a nightclub!!! (Oh no, not teh drinking)!!

The BBC's sports coverage is shite period, not just for Footy but for everything. Come on TIMMY they shout at Wimbledon, he loses, come on Murrey - he can be our "British" saviour!! It's pathetic!!

There is however no harm for England fans to be excited and optimistic for the World Cup. If someone wants to believe we can win then let them. I hope we win, I am not 100% confident about it but the hope is there. After all if we didn't think we could win, whats the point in entering the competition!
