Sim City - PC

I got straight in too, Oceanic 2 server.

Was exhausted last night, so only did the tutorial before falling asleep at the keyboard!

I have only managed to play this once for 30 mins so far.

The 2 other times I tried the servers were busy or when the game loaded the servers were currently unavailable.

The DRM is complete shite.

Not had a single problem with servers today. Mainly used Euro West 5.

I cant load my city... :( i have resume button but on loading just get mes that i cant load city try again.

If anyone is still looking for this game it is available again on the Origin India store for £18.50

Plus on the 18th March you will be given a free $20 game.

This is the biggest shit I have ever seen.
Back in the days when I was 15 I liked playing Sim City on SNES and on PC.
As I am not using my PC for playing I went to my best friend who bought this "great" game. Together we started playing.

The online issue is one thing, but not the most annoying - nevertheless this is so ridicolous.
So, you need permanent internet connection - okay, we gave a sh*t about it and started the game. After a few hours we begin to realize that you won't have back the feeling of building up and controlling really big cities. No this is just like building only special parts of big cities.

EDIT: I know about the specialising and interaction with other cities. But this should be part of multiplayer.
Or there should be at last an option to play it the "old" way...

I was so amazed when I was young and now I am really dissapointed. :(
Ok, I could say: lucky me, not spending money for this shit, but as a fan I feel sorry - also for all those hardocre fans of sim city. It's so sad seeing another brand going down just for the money of publishers etc.

It's looking great when zooming in - a lot of nice details, but this is so so unimportant. They should have better thought about the strength of the old games. I wonder how many fans sim city will lose due to this crap. From my point of view: the game is totally fucked up...

in a few years, when the last servers will be shut down this will be just a bad memory... For god sake - the old and good ones can be played at anytime !!! :)

EDIT: Maybe the main problem is that neither me or him ever read anything in magazines before. We were just thinking that it would be nearly the same as always with some ne features. This shows me that I will double check in future what I am exactly buying for my money... :D

Yeah the small size of the cities is a problem, I spent a couple of hours on my city and it is nearly full (Still have a small population though) but I suppose there is a lot to upgrade and improve in the cities. With the extra cities you can build different kinds and feed eachother, I think you have to approach it differently.

But they will have to increase the cities at some point I would guess, it would be amazing if the cities could be bigger.

I personally really like the new Sim City.
Yes admittedly it is pretty poor on a small one city scale, but you play the game as a Region not as a separate city.

I started my own game with 16 cities and if you start the game as HOST then you can control more cities.
So I built 3 specialist cities now and my friends have built another couple which all work well as a region.

It is now all about making your city unique and using resources from other cities in the region.

In the new Sim City I feel in control of my city due to the small size. In Sim City 4, I used to build massive cities and used to rake in the money, but never felt like I ever had control of the whole city as so much shit was going on all the time.

I have been playing now for 6 hours and I like it.

P.S.
It isn't my favourite though, the Snes version still wins that.

SimCity is a joke. The cities are too small. You can only place 25% of the buildings without even trying to have the same building twice.
