Sennheiser Headphones - Help!

I've just bought a pair of these

And the balance between the treble and the bass is very strange, the bass is much to loud and the treble is practically nonexistant (that's not an exaggeration, on some songs I can't even here things like guitar solos). However, I think the problem is with my computer because I tried them with my stereo system and it was fine. Help would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits end with these things.

Why do people spend so much on headphones?
I thought the £40 I spent on a pair was stupid.

I've sorted the problem, turns out I was dealing with 2 faulty adapters, mods can close this.

Because good ones can be awesome if you appreciate high quality sound. If not then it won't make much sense.
