Saints Row 2

why on earth do they always have someone playing these games who cant use both sticks at once to create a more smooth appearance when aiming around.

The second video looks a lot better but the driving handling looks really arcadey like the wheels are glued to the floor

I agree about the wheels, when I saw the video I already knew the driving was horrible. The rest was alright, the graphics aren't terrible.

Weapons? Drugs? Violence? What doesn't Saint's Row 2 have (that Grand Theft Auto has already done)? A porn starlet on the development team. No, not 'on' the development team. CVG reports that Veteran adult entertainment engineer Tera Patrick has apparently joined the team at Volition as a "special producer". What exactly she will be producing remains up in the air at this time, but I am assuming it has something to do with procedurally generating sales to the sort of people who know her work intimately. Having seen Ms. Patrick performing her work accidentally via the internet in the long-distant past a week ago, I can't imagine what else she might be bringing to the table, other than wobbly table legs.

All will be revealed soon, teases the game's publisher THQ. In the meantime, Tera will be at the company's booth at Comic-Con on Saturday to pose for photographs and give convention goers the completely false impression that they have a chance in hell of getting together with her.

THQ has tapped porn star Tera Patrick to do something within the vicinity of its upcoming sandbox-style action-adventure game Saints Row 2, hoping to lure in a few more buyers still wowed by almost seeing some giant fake tits. In the first "dev diary," Ms. Patrick says some things about the Saints Row series while taking her clothes off, with gameplay footage edited in for good measure. This teaser is mostly interesting for the fact that you can wear a hot dog suit in Saints Row 2.

The potentially NSFW clip is after the jump for your safety.

How much "this or that is better than GTA" ?

GTA is far better at Shooting, Driving and even running

Saints Row just don't feel right, you can drive at top speed and pull your handbreak right near the corner and the car just kicks the back end out and stays on the road, no skidding at all. It reminds me of the driving in the Bourne game

I like cruise control though, build up to whatever speed you want and press LB and it will keep you at that speed without pressing accelerate again

the 2 activity's i did were shite as well. On 1 you were fake policeman with a film crew and you had to go and kill crooks and the other you are security for Celebs and you have to whack people who harass them

I think me and others will expect to much of this being as GTA was so realistic this time

It's a shame, I was looking forward to it and would have probably used some CEX credit to get it a week or two after release. I play GTA4 still, although only online until the trophies are added, and I'm constantly thinking and saying to my long-suffering lass that "this would have better if they did this there", or "i reckon this should be added".. And I kinda hoped SR2 would be an improvement in some areas on GTA, passing the time til the next GTA on next-gen

well i have the flu and i had it when i first got GTA4 and said that was shite

so give me a few more days to recover and ill see if i feel the same way about it then :))

Is it out then? or are you being a cheeky monkey?

Right forget what i said earlier about it. I had a good go last night and when you get more into it you forget about GTA and just enjoy the game. While some of the activities are boring and are needed to be do to earn respect others are very good.

The main factors for me why this game is so good (what i didnt see the first time after a short play) is customisation and the little things you can do. You can customize the sytle of your crib then add big TVs, Beds and Desks/Stripper poles in the first very small crib you get and there are 60 i think you can do so that will keep em going. You can also customise your gang so they look how you want the to look and use taunts that you choose (like the character creation at the start, there is some funny stuff there including tea bagging). You can customise you cars as well but im not that far into it yet. There is alot more as well but my minds gone blank trying to remember it . But one thing is for sure money is crucial in this game you have to pay hospital fees and uptake for your crips as well as buying stuff

The missions seems ok, while alot are to do with gang killing and stuff i have done random ones like get a pickup truck and tow this car away which adds variety

Oh yeah there are loads of little things that make this game good as well like building up your gang and eventually being able to have a car full or more of your gang members at anytime to help you out, buying hideouts, cribs and clothes, using your iPhone style phone to ring any number you see in the game on billboards ect and im loving the story as well, your back to bring the saints together again(who don't exist anymore) and make the city your again (which i would imagine would mean massive mansions to pimp up later on in the game) and theres alot of funny lines thrown in as well so the story is more like a good gangster film

So apologise for the first little review that was only after a short play with GTA in mind, after playing more and opening up more stuff you think this is how GTA should have been :))

I forgot about buying songs and making your own playlists as well, i tried customising a bike and there are loads of things you can do to it so i bet you can make cars look awesome

How funny is the character creation mode in the beginning where you can select a face expression and walk style? Look hilarious to have your guy walk "jumpy" or whatever it is called and have a psychotic expression on his face.

I only played for a short while but it doesn't feel as "nex gen" as GTA 4 but it seems to be pretty funny. Nice game to play when bored I would think.

Seen this posted on another forum

"The Fight Club was easy enough to locate, and I beat five rounds before getting a bit bored and deciding to try something else. But I wasn't sure how to streak. That was until I decided to change my look completely. I'd been playing as someone who looked vaguely like myself (as you do) but wanted to try something more outlandish. So I went to the plastic surgeon and became an obese black woman. I needed to change into more feminine clothes, so I ran to the store just down the road and picked out an outfit. Then I saw an option to remove all clothes - which then offered me the opportunity to streak...

You have to run around and shock as many people as possible before the time runs out, and - ironically - you get respect points for doing so."

"Basically, there's just a ridiculous amount to do, and a lot of it is pretty amusing and/or destructive. Last night I did another mission called Septic Avenger, where I was spraying crap all over a housing estate to lower its prices. And ambulance missions where you can drive round to accidents and revive people with CPR or shock paddles."

"I sparked an amazing turn of events, simply by doing an up yours sign to a policeman. My character - an obese black woman, remember, and by now wearing a purple tank top and pink hotpants - said "fack off" in her male Cockney accent, which was funny in itself. But then as he shot at me, I turned round, pulled up a fire hydrant from the ground, and threw it at him, missing, but hitting a passing car, which swerved straight towards me. I managed to dive out of the way, but the policeman was sent flying into the air, whereupon a van coming in the opposite direction ran him over. The driver screamed and swerved just after hitting him, and ploughed into another car at the junction. Which exploded, knocking over the member of the Ronin gang who'd just appeared, about to swing his samurai sword at me. I picked him up as a human shield and shot his mate, before lobbing him into a fence, which splintered and knocked the Zimmer frame out from under a passing OAP."

"What's brilliant is that I've given my obese black woman a male cockney accent, which makes all the cutscenes (in which your character appears in whatever current guise they're in) absolutely hilarious.

Incidentally, whilst I was streaking, someone said "I'd rather have lava in my eyes thaan see that again" (or something similar), and two other people sprayed pepper spray at me."

GOTY..... perhaps the most fun either way.

:LMAO:

This is the kind of freedom and fun i wanted from GTA. I have a feeling im going to enjoy SR2 a lot more than GTA4

you can make your own playlists from the in game music i dunno about custom tracks

Loving the sound of The Mix and Klassic. Coopz, this is a very specific question, but what is the snipering like in the game? Is there much scope, ahem, for stealthy multiplayer action, and is there use of the sniper rifles in the story mode? Reason I ask is I'm one of those cunts on GTA4 who when there's an enemy who is annoyingly good I'll wait in a bush with the rifle ready, even if I have to wait 20 minutes for the user to be in view before I shoot the dick. Cheers
