PS2 Controller Problem - Keeps sending me into the menu!

I'm using my PS2 controller with an adapter to play PES6. This works flawlessly on PES5.

However, every 10 seconds or so in PES6, it thinks I'm pressing the menu key and sends me into the menu. I'm not sure exactly what but think it's reading a combination of direction + a key as the Start Key. The Start key itself is not recognised.....

Can anyone help! It's unplayable!
 
Ok ok, so I'm stupid. Thanks for the help, that worked, why it can't be in the game itself in the bit where I've been fannying around configuring keys for ages, I don't know. Cheers!
