PES 6 Shooting?

Yes but you should say "In my opinion it is garbage" and if you think it really is garbage why not just use a Fifa site and stop posting on a PES site?

Other people (for example me) think Fifa is utter shite.

Don't start saying I don't have as much brain capacity as other people, some people on this site are pretty thick! *cough*MARC110*cough*
I have no problem about you playing Fifa instead of PES, just coming on a PES site and talking about how wonderful you think Fifa is and calling PES garbage sounds a bit wrong to me.
Like, why don't loads of people who play PES go on a Fifa site and start saying "PES is brilliant, Fifa is garbage!"

I do not mean to offend you but I have to say thats suggests you don't have much brain capacity.

Back on topic:
PES shooting relies on timing as well as power, pressing the shot button early will make different results from pressing it late.
Also the controlled shot can be useful.

Err.......they do......I take it you've never been to a FIFA forum. Again, I used to do nothing but praise PES, but now I've found FIFA on the 360 to be a better game, along with many other evo-web forum members. Who made you the dictator of what can and cant be said on an internet forum?

Also I'm not sure what you're on about when you say im praising FIFA as the closest thing to me praising FIFA you'll find in this thread is when I said "At least EA built a new game"...........which really isnt praise but a simple fact.

If its not as good as previous versions, it would be considered less satisfactory, or as I would put it, garbage.

thats a stretch. Garbage, would be like in fifa, when someone shoots the animation looks like a monkey who has taken LSD and is wailing his legs around in the most flexible eight jointed way possible, as if he has broken his ankle whilst shooting. Or like in fifa when you go to head the ball, WAIT, you CANT HEAD IT! Or not that often at least. The shooting in PES6 is far from garbage. If it were, me and my friends wouldnt have spent hours and hours and hours playing the game, knowing most of us are going to get shit from our wifes, girlfriends, etc.... Something has to be really worth it, to endure that shit. 2 v 2 PES6 is A FANTASTIC GAME, period.1 v cpu on the other hand... not so great

All this says to me is that you're stuck in robotic PES animations land where players have no flexible limbs. I hate to burst your bubble but when I shoot the ball in real life, my leg and foot are very flexible. How do you think controlled shots are performed in real life and how do you think players stay balanced and on their feet?

Here is a shot in FIFA 07 (360)

Seriously mate, where is this 8 jointed crap you speak of? They almost look identical aside from the fact that the FIFA engine allows players to move most of their joints like real people can, thus why the FIFA animation doesnt look stiff like the PES animation. Notice the players body bends forward in the FIFA one where the PES body stays straight and stiff, like a robot(a huge chested one at that) or a board........you decide.

personally, looking at those clips i think the pes one looks more realistic and "organic" quite frankly, the fifa one's more bouncy and choppy to say the least, and that certainly isn't realistic imo. but neways i'm enjoying fifa07 and pes6 on my laptop, they are both brilliant, if anyone got a very decent pc/laptop, i'll definately advice getting both these games, they both play very differently from thier console counterparts (wierdly enough) ;)

the fifa one's more bouncy
........finesse and weight..............you do know the human body doesnt stand stiff like a board to stay balanced, it bends and moves........you're light on your feet which can result in a "bouncing" look when slowed down............I give up.............:lmao:

Watch how players bend and move their bodies.....like in FIFA.......unlike in PES..........

And watch how they bend joints and use the inside of their foot to control shots..........

Did you catch the end........when slowed down real life players seem "bouncy" also.........its how they stay on their feet, how they stay balanced................

WTF are you talking about? I have FIFA 07 on both PC and xbox (well and 360 but were not talking about that version right now) and a friend has the PS2 version, the only difference is the framerate between the three. PS2 has lots of slowdown, PC version doesnt run right because the framerate is like fucking random, and the xbox version plays at a smooth consistant framrate, other than that they all play the same. I wont comment on PES6 though since I've only played the PC version (well and the 360 demo, but thats irrelavant).

Oh my god! Animations and graphics do not gibe that much fun!
The gameplay is the most importand aspect of any game, just because the PES animation doesn't look perfect very close up it doesn't make Fifa a better game. From the wide or normal long cams PES shooting animations look very good.

Gameplay(when speaking about a sports simulation) is something that goes hand in hand with the animations, the "animations" or "Physics" (depending on the type simulation) are one of the most important factors of a simulation. If the animations dont look natural (again were talking about a simulation here) the gameplay in return doesnt look natural.

which is why he said "PES animation doesn't look perfect very close up it doesn't make Fifa a better game. From the wide or normal long cams PES shooting animations look very good." FFS!! can you just shut the hell up and stop arguing with everyone the micro second you have the minutest of chances to  respect other peoples f***ing opinions, YOU ARE NOT GOD!! and you cant force people to think how you do, or believe what you do as a matter of fact., fifa360 (i believe personally) is bouncy and choppy, which imo dosn't reflect real life, players move and bend and try to do it as fluidly as possible which is why they bend into turns so that a change in direction does not throw them off ballance, moving is different from bouncing and so is bending. see any messi videos and tell me it dosn't almost look like he's glyding across the pitch.... you are you others are themselves, we're all different (which means different opinions, views etc) you believe 1 someone else believes 2 simply agree to disagree (as i am going to do about your fifa07 statement), end of....

So how does PES look realistic then? Players dont really bend into turns or really bend their bodies at all, instead they stay stiff. Finesse and to be light on your feet is to subtlety "bounce" lightly on your feet. American football running backs who have high finesse "bounce" on their feet around tackles and to stay balanced. Boxers "bounce" all around to ring to stay on their feet and keep balanced. Tennis players "bounce" lightly on their feet to keep balanced. Soccer players also do this (along with most any sports player) ...............whatever at this point.....I dont care........I'm done here.

Fact? It's not a fact. It's opinion.

PES animations are not that bad that it looks so bad they are garbage. You said you liked previous versions of PES, look at their animations! PES4 has rubbish animations, PES5's were not that much better yet you complain about PES6's which are much improved from those two.

Wow, player's don't shoot or turn 100% realistically in PES! Nor do they in Fifa!

The shooting is terrible and I think the goalkeeping is way too good. I bought the game and played 3 games. I won them all 3-0,1-0,1-0. But the last 7 games I've played, 0 goals and all losses. I dont know if there is a computer assist or something but it's frustrating. One game I had 36 shots, 22 on target and still didnt have any hit the back of the net. A bit unbelievable because I've never ever got off that many shots in one game in any pro evolution game I've played. but I'm sticking with it even though I want to throw the pro evolution game disc up in the air and windmill kick it.

Been playing this for a while and i must say i love it! Took a while to get used to but i like the flow. Shooting's not too much of a problem once you get used to it. Play regularly on live with a bunch of mates in league and cup competitions and some of them can really play the game. There's plenty of room for improvement but still love it.

The shootings perfect, can't believe people are looking for "sure goals". In PES5 you could do this "run the flank, lowpass middle and shoot" -goals, which sucked alot. Seabass himself told in an interview he tried to remove that, so in PES6 you'll have to position yourself alot better than in previous version to get a decent shot. I think thats great.

Other than that, I personally think this is the best PES since I've started playing (ISS 1 on ps1?).

So, not to continue this flame-war, here a tip. Don't try to score these stupid one-timer goals, they won't happen. Unless you play with some superstar team and really nail it. Other than that, you'll have to build the scoring chances, which is once again great ;)

ps. not a PES fanboy, just a football fan :)

The shooting is not perfect.

Animations have never been any of my problems. PES animations are usually very nice and flow good.

But looking at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8qYDtFE_ro it is clear that the ball physics are way off. Just look at the speed of the ball when compaqred to the power of the kick. The ball moves so damn slowly. There is almost no acceleration from the ball being compressed on the boot and then bounces off. It looks like it is a 2kg metal ball. A real Soccer ball does not move like that when struck like in the video. The video reminds me more of when you shoot a ball that has just bounced and you just graze it on the top of the boot. Horrible.

For example, this video shows someone striking soft lofted shots/long passes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEZV9dOUhEE

And those balls seem to move quite a bit faster from the boot than the PES shot.

EDIT: Also check out this vid I made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee93uNYbM6E

Which also demonstrates the hopeless shooting. As you can see the players orientation is perfect for a shot, and I tapped the shot button. Still the ball soars over the bar. In a position like that with 25% of the power and an ancle shot with the ball flat on the ground, in real life, I would like to see anyone actually flop it over. I mean the ball hardly moves away from the boot at all in the vid, how do you expect me to believe the shot has enough power to actually go over the bar?

And that is KAKÁ. I haven't even talked about the experience of trying to get a default ML team to perform, which is way worse. I just don't buy it as a simulation of soccer.

Amen :applause:

i really luv this game and the shooting aint that bad

FIFA 07 360 shooting is really good imo. It took me at least 3 weeks to master it, but once I did, it was very impressive.

I must admit...I slated the shooting in this game(fifa360), but after lots of games the shooting system is class.

The more I play this game, the better it gets.

I think its the first fifa for years that I have not been bored with after 20 games.

When I go back to pes6, It just feels way too tight and scripted.

Freedom is where it's at !!!

:)

yes pes6 for the 360 feels like the most scripted version they ever made. Sometimes i think konami is going back to the old fifa days and EA is making all the progress to total freedom.
