not installing patch...windows installer error

I try to install the 1.2 patch and get an error message:
"the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program".

Any help??

If you use Vista try right clicking your pes .exe and run as administrator.

I tried everything I could, but in the end, I just downloaded 1.30 instead and it worked no problem. Obviously that stops kitserver from working thoug.
