Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

To early to tell, doubt it though.

There is a version of the game that will be online only in Asia.

Today, we have obtained details of a limited collector’s edition of NBA 2K10 2K Sports plans to release to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the NBA 2K franchise.

In addition to a copy of NBA 2K10, the limited collector’s edition includes: a numbered 2K Sports game storage locker with combination lock that can store up to 20 games, an exclusive figurine from McFarlane Toys featuring NBA 2K10 cover athlete and spokesman Kobe Bryant, a 16"x36" 2K Sports Kobe Bryant poster designed by Shepard Fairey's Studio N° 1, a NBA 2K10 10th anniversary video that explores the history of the NBA 2K franchise, and access to the Gold Room, NBA 2K10's VIP online lobby.

As for how much this limited edition of NBA 2K10 will sell remains to be announced; we'll have to wait for the official announcement. UPDATE: A source close to the product told TeamXbox that the special bundle will be announced on Tuesday morning, and that the package manufacturer's suggested price will be $99.99.

Draft Combine site and pics

I've got a dilemma now, I want the anniversary edition but if (when) I buy this add on from the Euro PSN store will it work with the NTSC version of the full game???

EDIT: 2K Ron says,

It's only in the locations that are stipulated on the site. So not in Europe.

Same with Anniversary Edition, it's not going to have a complete distribution to Europe but you may be able to find it here or there.

:BRICK:, no love for Europe again.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

But you can buy this in the eeuu playstation store anyway, isn't it? And combine it with and imported special edition from eeuu, it should work well.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

We won't get that far,

NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, developed by Visual Concepts, is planned for release in North America, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and India this September on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 (400 Microsoft Points) and PlayStation Network for PLAYSTATION 3 system ($4.99).

How can they decide to release it in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and India but not Europe?!

EA would never do such a thing.

NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look

The play styles are certainly traditional for games of this type, but where Draft Combine really differentiates itself from other b-ball titles is in the shot and dribbling styles. You can pretty much customize any shot you'll take on the court. You can design your fader, leaner, drift left or right, free throw and other shots using a list of presets. The same goes for a lengthy assortment of dribbling moves such as spins, half-spins, crossovers and hesitation moves.

Sounds awesome, must find a way of downloading it. There is a thread on the official 2K forums were people (including myself) are complaining that its not coming to the PAL regions.

2K Admin Ron:

Like I said, that's not the complete list, even though it could end up being that. Those are the countries that have been 100% confirmed already.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

But I assume in PS3 there is no problem isn't it? You can always buy it from the EEUU PSn Store right?

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

That's the problem Drekkard, they aren't going to put it on the EU stores.

Right now the only way of buying it off the US Store is to import a US PSN Card, if 2K don't change their minds then I'll have to do this.

PS: If anyone else is interested in importing the Anniversary Edition, I got a reply from Video Games Plus.

Ok, now I understand, Tobi, let's hope they change this policy. If not, I think I will also do what you suggest.

Another Draft Combine preview.

* Point Guard -- Pass first, scoring, defensive, 3-point specialist, athletic, all-around
* Shooting Guard -- Scoring, defensive, 3-point specialist, athletic, slashing, all-around, scoring
* Small Forward -- Defensive, 3-point specialist, athletic, slashing, point forward, all-around
* Power Forward -- Defensive, athletic, back-to-basket, face-up, rebounding, all-around
* Center -- Defensive, athletic, back-to-basket, face-up, rebounding, all-around.

PG for me.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

Shooting guard for me, that was my position when I was young. 3 point threat!

NBA 2K10: Exclusive First Look + new pics

Spaced Out

The first time you hit the court in NBA 2K10, something might look a bit different. Yes, you'll notice things like the improved player likenesses, including animated faces, better skin textures, and greater lighting effects. But you might also notice a sense of space on the hardwood that simply wasn't present in previous iterations. As developers put it to me, that's because the proportions between player size and the floor had gotten a bit out of whack in older games, resulting in players that were slightly larger than in real life. The team took a look at all of the player models in NBA 2K10 and made size adjustments across the board, with the result of having a slightly more open feel to the play on the court.

Other defensive improvements include a better sense of physical play when leaning in on a guy, as well as double-team situations that aren't just canned animations, as they were in previous games. When double-teaming a ball handler, you'll have more control over what you do as you harass the guy. If playing online, one half of a double-team duo might try a steal, while the other keeps his hands up to block a potential shot. Essentially, you won't be waiting for a double-team animation to end--you'll be interacting within it and trying to make a play.

Finally! Looking forward to the first gameplay video.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

What do you mainly struggle with?

What team do you play with?

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

i think it was orlando magics i was playing. fact is, i dont have a clue who is the best teamm/ best players are with their strenghth and weakness like how i know players from football.

i also dont even know what a point guard and all the other roles are lol. i know the rules of the game though ie traveling, shot clock violations etc etc but i dont follow NBA at all.

i keep losing no matter what team i am in on normal difficulty and i think its because of the above things mentioned given the fact that this is a basketball simulator game not an arcade game where its easy.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

Did you change the sliders ?
That can make a big difference.
If you tinker with the sliders you can find a "level of skill" that suits to make it worhtwile without being a gaming god...i did the same and i enjoyed it (until my PS3 Went bust)

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

Search the OS forums for sliders that suit your playing style.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

ok i'l have atinker with the sliders. i suppose their is one to make shots go in more? lol thats my issue hehe. everytime i shoot it hardly goes in. i try to mix up my play but its not happening

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

You can adjusts specific aspects in the sliders so yes more of your shots will go in, don't relax with those settings though.

Re: NBA 2K10 - PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PSP

Try to improve your shooting. Be sure to let go the ball when it should and that you don't have defenders on your face. It takes a while but suddenly it all clicks. Try to know the stats of your players.

About sliders, at the begining tweak only the shooting ones and hold the rest until you begin to get some depth on the game and you know what you want exactly.

Introducing Developer Insights

No real news in the above link but they'll be news later today.

You can read the NBA 2K10 Developer Insights and comment on them here: NBA 2K10 Developer Insights. Our first entry covers Draft Combine, and is written by one of our lead developers on the precursor game NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, Erick Boenisch (who many of you know on various forums as SimBaller). We want to kick off the developer insights with an entry about the Draft Combine title simply because this is new territory for everyone, and we understand that there are many questions that the community has even after the previews that hit this past week. If the NBA 2K franchise has proven anything over the past 10 years, it’s that we know basketball and you guys have a ton in store with Draft Combine that Erick will explain to you. Over the course of the next couple of months, expect coverage on all of the different aspects of the game- from graphics, to game play, as well as new as yet unannounced features.

This is a welcome change from 2K.
