I've had my acoustic guitar for a few months but keep putting off trying to learn it because I just can't understand the rubbish books I've got. Anyone got any good websites/books I should check out?

Thanks Coopz unlike these Rock Bander's amongst us I want to play the real guitar. I have an Electric one.:w00t:

Top links Coopz, cheers mate :TU:

I've always wanted to play the acoustic but having played GH and RB, I think I'd prefer to play the electric now :(

Might get an electric once I've learnt enough on my acoustic :))

Yeah i have always wanted to play a guitar but being left handed is a pain in the arse as well

Jimi Hendrix i aint

all you need

plenty of tabs and lessons

Start with chords, then move to tabs. The rhythym of your right hand (if you're right handed) is just as important as what you fret with your left.

EDIT: http://www.justinguitar.com/ - pretty much as good as having a real guitar tutor. Watch his video lessons and follow them from the beginning

youtube is great for learning songs.

I played years ago from books and bye ear and it was hard going. I bought a guitar recently and recommend youtube and chordie.

If you want to learn a particular song, get the tab from http://www.chordie.com and search youtube for video lessons.

I would also recommend Katie Melua's guitarist's website http://www.justinguitar.com/

Cheers

The Justin website is pretty damn good! Very easy to follow, lots of info and I'm gonna give it a good go :DD

There's also vids on Youtube which go along with the tutorials as well :TU:
