Fable 2 will 'talk to' three XBLA games

When we start thinking about video games talking to each other, we start getting nervous. The last thing bitter, hateful video game bloggers want is for the Petz 17: Locustz and Sims 2: Kitchen Appliances of the world to become sentient, read the things we wrote about them and kill us in our sleep. But Fable 2's Peter Molyneux is just fine with the idea. In fact, he's encouraging it with three XBLA games that will "speak to" Fable 2 upon its release.

He hinted at it last month at GDC, but Molyneux detailed the idea on Major Nelson's podcast. Basically, Microsoft's Carbonated Games (of Uno fame) will release "Mage Dice," "Wizard's Tower" and "Keystone" on to XBLA and the money you win from those games will go directly into your account when you boot up Fable 2. It's a neat idea with a lot of possibilities and as long as the games don't start talking to Puppy Luv 8: Dalmationz, we're all for it.

Update: X3F has contacted Lionhead for further clarification. It has yet to be determined whether or not the games will be released separately or as one XBLA download. Regardless, the games will all be included and playable within the Fable 2 gameworld.

Although we already knew Fable 2 was arriving in October, Lionhead Studios has revealed the awaited title will hit US store shelves, then proceed to raise a family while it waits to be purchased, on October 21. European gamers can expect the game days later on October 24. For those who want to start padding their virtual wallets early, the Xbox Live Arcade Pub Games will land August 13.

Lionhead also unveiled an image of all that you can expect to get if you pick up the Limited Edition copy of the game. Details of the LE

Pub Games are now on Xbox Live Marketplace, available to the whole wide world, except Portugal, very strange, why isn't Portugal worthy, anyone know?

dont know why but here it is:
DailyGame had published several screens of Fable 2's "Master Chief" armor and "Elite Energy Sword" before Microsoft requested the images be taken down. The Hal's Outfit (that's what the MJOLNIR looking suit's called) is obtained by purchasing the Fable 2 Collector's Edition. After downloading the bundle's exclusive content from Xbox Live, players will apparently receive the Hal suit from a treasure chest after leveling up for the first time.

Is it poop only because it's short, or is gameplay not up to much?

I'm starting it soon as Fallout has got me bored at the moment. People I know really like it although the interface can be clunky. I prefer short games myself.

The wife loves it, played through it twice now, she wasn't too impressed that if you're a woman character and you invest in the skills necessary to sword fight you end up looking like a man.....

It has the appearance of a kids game, and the story of a kids game, so 90% of the time you feel like you're playing a kids game and it's really offputting, but then you walk into a house and people are shouting "fuck off" and shagging eachother. It's like they couldn't decide on their target audience and the game ends up a bit like a really bad pantomime.

It's also ridiculously easy - there's a "fairydust path" that takes you from mission to mission so you can finish the game within a few days. You can switch it off but then the game gives you no hint whatsoever, the map facilities are non-existent, so... It's all or nothing.

Either way it was a huge letdown.
