Broadband and phone help...

HELP!!!

I start a job working from home on Monday and have just put a phone in my room. For the job i need to be on the phone and online at the same time. Problem is, whenever the phone in my room is in use, the internet disconnects!!!!

Why is it doing this, the microfilters are in!! Is it because I am using an extension wire for the net upstairs? surely this shouldnt make a difference!

Your problem is because your micro filters are setup wrong

you need a splitter on the phone side of filter (so the sky would be another phone in that pic)

This makes the net cut out if the phone in my room is picked up.

Ive tried putting the filter > splitter and the net connection light doesnt even show on the modem...usually it flashes orange when not working properly...

The cheeky bastard came out and fixed it whilst I was on holiday. He charged £25 to put the connection into the socket in my mums room...which I was gonna try!

Oh well all sorted now!

So what was it he did to fix it?

Instead of me being plugged into the main socket downstairs via an extension cable...he plugged the phone and broadband line directly into the mainbox in my mums room and it worked a treat.

He didnt "fix" anything. The problem is solved, but all he did was put the wires in another room :@
