Currently in development by Visceral Games - The team behind Dead Space.

Not much else is known at present, but full reveal will be coming at E3.

Other information that appears to have been posted ahead of schedule includes four classes (Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator and Professional), a multiplayer map (called Downtown), and modes called Blood Money, Bomb Squad and Carrier Assault.

Seems many people wanting a WWII style Battlefield with Spitfire, Panzer and Cruiser experience may be disappointed; it could be a police theme.

A few lines of code seem to have outed new information regarding what will essentially be Battlefield 5.

Financial analyst and pundit Michael Pachter claimed to have information regarding this game before. Pachter claimed he talked to people in EA itself, and confirmed that it would be the first spinoff Battlefield game to be made by a developer other than DICE. At the time, he believed Criterion Games was working on the game, but since then, it was clarified that it would be coming from Viscera Gamesl. Former Criterion devs, now at Ghost Games UK, are apparently also helping.

Moving on to here and now. Fans have found new code in the official Battlefield site leading to a url called http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bfh. So, a Battlefield H. What could the H possibly stand for? While our source shared the prospective title Battlefield Havana, another fan gave another more credible name: Battlefield Hardline.

Hardline thematically ties in with earlier rumors that this next Battlefield game could be police themed. Hardline itself means strict, uncompromising, and police enacting stiffer, harsher policies are often referred to as hardliners, such as in news headlines.

The same codeleak shares data on possible unit types in the game, which would be the Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator, and Professional. These titles are just generic enough to apply for a police force, as well as a military group. It also looks like the game will be cross platform, but since it's EA, don't expect a Wii U port on this.

A "police-themed" Battlefield title is currently in development at Dead Space studio Visceral Games, according to a report by Polygon.

The site claims that the project, allegedly code-named Havana, is due for release later this year. Former Criterion team members at Ghost Games UK have also been offered supporting work in the project or face redundancy, the report states.

Polygon's report follows claims from Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter last year who said that he believed "Criterion Games is working on a military shooter that may become a brand extension for the Battlefield franchise in FY:15."

He continued: "[Wedbush] spoke with [EA] management [in December], and although they have not yet announced a version of Battlefield for FY:15, they confirmed that our understanding is spot on and that if a version of Battlefield were to be released in FY:15, it would be developed by a studio other than DICE."

Pachter later revised his report, claiming that he meant to say that Visceral Games is behind the project, not Criterion.

It's also believed that Visceral Games contributed significantly to the development of Battlefield 4.

That's because the single player mode is done by Visceral, who did Dead Space etc.

Their storytelling etc. is much superior to that of DICE

Cool! Sounds like they are aiming for a Shield kinda vibe. Wonder who the voice actors are they mentioned, may well be Walton Goggins as he was in The Shield (and Justified which they mention in the trailer)

I know I might sound repetitive (if anyone remembers anyway), but that was one game I helluva enjoyed and replayed about 3 times. It felt like a complete product really. To me that's very rare these days.

Hope Visceral bring that level to Battlefield too.

Never played through a Dead Space it's not my kinda genre, this looked decent though, bout time we had a proper cop game, if the singleplayer is decent and at least 10 hours+ I'll buy it.

Beta is open to public, so you can test it.

For me, it looks more like DLC to BF3/4 and not a game worth full price. Plus graphically looks tad worse than BF4.

Fun, but completely not my type of game (Bad Company 2 still kicks ass :D).

Got accepted to the BETA, so when I return on Sunday after going away for the weekend will post some videos.

But looking at my friends list on Origin everyone has pretty much been accepted to the BETA.

I didn't think it was too bad, mate. It's very "dummy-friendly" in that there's basically pop up boxes everywhere during off game for tactics and loadout choice etc. etc. Can get a bit frustrating having to close them every time. The game itself was decent enough. Lot of the graphical aspects have been toned down or turned off, obviously with the 11GB install taken into account. Played 4 or 5 games on Heist and quite enjoyed it. There are some guys on there who have clearly been playing for hours, some up to Rank 18 already, which is mental. It shows in how they play the game, too.

Blah, I moved to the cool side.

Fixed it.

Now on topic I was expecting the game to be awful, maybe that's why my first impression was so good.

Even though everything looks cheaper, animations, looks of the guns, less gimmicks, the cleaner look makes the game more objective, you can see the action now, instead of lens flare, explosions and shit hurting your eyes.

But the major thing is the hit detection, I feel like my bullets were going where I shot them, I can kill people now.

But still only played a tiny bit, lets see how it goes over more hours of play.
