Battlefield : Bad Company Series

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Yeah I didn't get the credit, anyway I might play now. I played COD earlier and to be honest I still enjoy it. But now to have a crack with BF because I'm still deciding if I want to get it or not.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

i cant go back to anything else now after being able to knock a hole in the wall to get to somewhere

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

yeah some have had 3 and some 4

i got a mortar strike off a dead guy but got killed before i could test it  it looked alot better than the Binoculars though.

Do you have Life 2? thats very handy

funny you should say that i seen people making trenches to hide in and ones big enough to stop tanks passing haha

yea thats how i feel. i dont know if i could ever play any otehr fps game with no destructable enviornment

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

I gave this a whirl yesterday.

Single player is a bit dodgy, not sure I like how easy it is for the enemy to hit you when you can barely even see them and even worse when there's about 4 of them doing so at once. I like my games to be a challenge but the amount of times I died in the demo when I was actually taking my time and trying to get into cover etc... was a bit annoying. Not sure I like the using the scope shooting either, it just doesn't feel like a natural movement to focus on something as it does in R6V2 or COD4. Everything still seems very unfocused and loose.

Multiplayer aint half bad, like the sniping option a lot but there's something that just doesn't feel quite right about the shooting with normal assualt rifles and that. Maybe it's because it takes too many shots to kill someone, maybe it's the fact the hit detection seems to be slightly askew, I'm not sure.
As it's only the demo I'm not gonna draw any final conclusions, it appears as though it could be a good bit of fun online so I'll contemplate it when it's released.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

i went with the anti tank mines and they kick ass - you get about 6 of them as well so more than enough to block a road off with. i ended up with a score of 549 and 3 deaths

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

I wanna reset mine and get the M16 as well

im sure you cant reset though :((

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

m16 was the first thing i unlocked and damm thats one sweet gun

Yeah this is doing my nut now, I said before about the elites on BF2 knowing the hit-points off by heart. The lag doesn't help either, but I'm sure that will be better with the final release. Piled literally my whole magazine into some guy before, he was standing still and everything so it's not like I could have missed. Five returned shots later and I'm dead.

I just love all the different roles you can take though, that's what puts it ahead of the competition IMO. That and blasting away your opponent's cover, God I love that.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

you playing on the 360 JB? Ive had no lag on the PS3 until around 8-9pm when the americans come online - i have noticed some elite guys hanging around especially snipers but its nothing a tank cant solv. splash damage is still doing my head in thoug, its really hit and miss

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Yea Jb try the ps3 version. i have tried both and i get no lag on the ps3 one

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Hmmm

All of my online stats have vanished.

When I look at the friends leaderboard I can see all of your stats but mine say 0 kills 0 deaths and rank 4 - which can't be right.

does anyone know if our stats and unlocks here will carry across to the full game?

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Radiation:

DICE will be deploying the first patch for the Battlefield: Bad Company demo tomorrow, which aims to put an end to statistic problems that stop you seeing how many people you've shot in the face and so on.

The developer says it's "working around the clock" to address other issues such as game freezes, and wants your feedback to help it get to the heart of the issue more quickly.

Other problems include Europeans being shunted onto US servers, although hosts will now be sorted by ping so you should get local games first.

DICE has also boosted the number of servers in order to cope with the 50,000 of you playing the demo that appeared on Thursday.

Battlefield: Bad Company is a story-driven spin-off in the popular online shooter series. It tells a dark and humorous tale inspired by modern day combat stories, and will also feature a meaty multiplayer component more synonymous with the Battlefield brand.

The full game is out for PS3 and 360 on 27th June. Head over to our Battlefield: Bad Company gamepage for all our coverage to date.

Tomorrow being today ...

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

I'm gonna get this - I want to see all the other maps :DD

The only bad thing at the moment for me is the Lag - Trying to shoot someone that keeps Jutting around the screen is annoying!!

I probably will never play the single player though.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Woooooo lag free games then hopefully

and i hope my Ranks reset :))

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

I will get this, and I'll actually have a go at the story, even though usually on BF I skip to the online play. It may be better than it seems from the demo.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

I have just got my last unlock (if it is 3)

what should i get?

I aint getting Life 2 because without the M16 the Assault class aint my cup of tea and mines are demo class aint they? if so i use that quite a bit so may go for that

Mortars are recon i think so they may be handy as well

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Mines are demo class yes - the mortars are the erm... i think the support class or the other one near the bottom with the machine gun. Recon has the binoculars.

The mines are fine and get me loads of kills when you find a sweet spot to put them

Some I've found

1 - as soon as you start defending run out of the base towards the little hut just over the hill - planting them next to that is great and your right next to a ammo supply to plant them (or throw them on the floor i should say) on the other side as well

2 - on the bridge right at the start - not only can this take out the tank but you can blow the bridge this way and stop more tanks/jeeps getting across

3 - if your about to lose your gold then quickly throwing mines where the tanks respawn or just ahead of a tank can give you tons of kills when the enemy spawn there and jump in them.

4 - Next to your second gold base there is a field of grass that you then have to run across to defend the 3rd set of gold -- i throw a load of mines here when i know our gold is dead because tanks always cut over here and its near impossible to see the mines in the bushes.

But i've seen a few people stop tanks, get out and blow the mines away with a grenade or shoot them using the tanks machine gun so meh...

Started to find some easy spots on this map as well - when the 3rd set of gold and one of the crates is up a ladder - climbing up that before the enemy do and geting your knife out can keep the enemy away for ages - as soon as they get near the top a quick slash and they're dead before they know what hit them (as they're still looking at the ladder on their camera) --- you have to keep an eye out for snipers at the base in the distance though.

-

Another good unlock i wish i had got and have seen in action is the C4 type charge especially when you throw it near a gold crate and then hide somewhere you you can keep an eye out - a game this morning was won by two people doing that over and over with the first crates you defend and although the crates where damaged quite a lot by the end we still managed to hold them away.

Though im not sure why they didn't just jump in a tank and start blasting at the crates from a distance?

Roll on the end of the month

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Some good tips there

i like the blowing the bridge up idea, can you see the mines easily then?

i may get the C4 Instead

what you getting this on Radiation?

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Yeah the mines do stand out - they're like the size of the original xbox but circular - but most people i assume are looking for the enemy and not the road so they run over them. Amongst all of the rubble and dirt they're tough to spot - and even better if you launch a rocket at the ground and plant them there so they are just below the surface and out of sight.

It's only really after ive taken out a load of tanks for the 5th time that ive seen the other guys start stopping and looking for the mines in that area or driving around that area (which is when i lay the mines elsewhere)

=======================
Changed my line break as Pbb stole my other one lol

Spotted ive broken into the top 10000 this morning - im about 9706 ish - insanely the guy in first has about 5500 kills in like what... 4 days!

Jeez get a freaking life!

=======================
I'll be buying it on the PS3 as I don't have a 360 I'm afraid - unless someone wants to buy me a 360 with their lottery winnings?

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

i always choose the wrong class

i choose Recon and they come in tanks, i choose demo and they are at long range and i choose specialist and cant do fuck all

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company Xbox 360 and PS3

Yeah ive noticed crap like that a lot - and it doesnt help when your teams mates all pick recon or they all piss of to spawn kill the attackers and leave you on your own

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company (360 / PS3)

Found something out today

When you're online you are grouped in a 4 man squad - during play if the other 3 men die then you will be told you are the last man standing. if all 4 men in the squad die then you will all have to spawn at the base.

So that's why you can see your team mates around you, as they belong to a different squad.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company (360 / PS3)

here is my full intake of the game:
major points:

1) Game modes - The whole gold rush mode is new, and it took me a minute to warm up to it. I like it better now that I am used to it. They are adding classic conquest mode in a patch.

2) Squad play - The squad play is not quite as good, but I guess we will see if it is different in the real game. On the PC, you created your own squads and stayed in them until the game was over or until you left the squad. Im not sure I like the random spawning into squads while in game. Some of my friends and I tried forming a squad and then joining a game. It worked OK, but we had mic problems. Hopefully thats just in the demo.

3) Destructable environments - these were great! It worked out much better than I thought it would. The map continuously changes, so you dont have people forever camping choke points, etc. like in the PC game. One time I got on the defender AA gun at the Farm, and leveled all trees and building on both sides of the river. The attacking team had to get past a wide open field with no place to hide. LOL

4) Weapons - I have mixed feelings about these. I played the support LMGs a lot and found them wildly inconsistent vs the PC game. It seemed the assault weapons took down people at range with better efficiency which makes little sense. Overall, I would say the LMGs are a bit underpowered from the PC game. The shotguns work nicely I have to say lol

5) Classes - the classes are pretty well done vs the PC game. The one exception is the support class. It seems they did away with the medic class which was essentially Spec Ops with a medkit instead of C4. The support class now does the medkit. Thats fine, except the support class used to be able to resupply the troops. If you ran out of ammo, a support guy could drop some at you and give you a resupply. I dont see that capability anymore. Also, the support guy does the vehicle repair which I thought used to be with the Anti-tank class. Essentially, the support class seems to do everything now, where it was a bit more spread out in the PC game.

6) Graphics - not on the level of COD4 but very good anyway...especially in the mechanization of the desctructable environments. Overall the graphics are slightly crisper than the PC game.

Overall I am very pleased with this game. As a Battlefield veteran, I am definitely picking it up. It is a very good change of pace to the run-n-gun feel of COD4.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company (360 / PS3)

I have to admit i really like this game but the lag is seriously annoying me the game itself is quite good the destructable enviroment is what makes this game if it didnt have it i would stick to COD4 so hopefully they can sort it out before the release the lag i mean

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company (360 / PS3)

Well i have finally found a class i am good with!!

using the Assault class seems to be my best thing now, im in a predicament though, do i unlock a gadget for another class or a M16 for assault?

The only thing that annoys me about the game is the lag - If they sort it out - It will be great!

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company (360 / PS3)

Its only lagging because they aint opened all the servers

they just used a small one for the demo
