Bad stuttering on pc.

    Hi guys,

    I was hoping that i wouldn't have to start a new thread, but i haven't had any answers in my other posts.

    My PC is stuttering very bad during matches, it is getting worse with each match. My last game i had to quit because it was impossible to play.

    I have checked and unchecked the various boxes in the set up menu but it is still the same.

    My PC has a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9550 processor.

    I am not a computer buff, but all i know is that it ran FIFA 2012 ok.

    What is strange is when i connect my laptop with Nvidia through to my TV, the game does not work at all.

    Also, the game crashes if i play the sub games while the match is loading.

    Any help would be appreciated

    You have a very similar laptop to me - I had a world of problems with FIFA 12 and stuttering, and solved them by downgrading my graphics drivers. The 9800m GTS doesn't seem to get on with the newer drivers at all - there hasn't been a noted performance rise for the 9xxx series in over a year, they're getting on a bit now.

    So with the same card as you, and a similar 2.4ghz Dual core, I run FIFA13 on high, at 1680x1050, with V sync on, and with the 'lock at 60fps' button ticked.

    The drivers I currently have are the 301.42 version, and FIFA runs fine. With anything newer it stuttered around horribly.

    Give those drivers a go, and see if there's any difference. If not, here is a list of all the drivers compatible with your card. If the 301.42 drivers don't improve performance, try some older ones. It might take a bit of trial and error, but in my experience it will work.

    It's strange because FIFA 2012 worked fine.

    I went into settings, and just clicked default settings and it is working a bit better.

    Just to let you know that i have tried TerrierJim's settings and after 3 games it is working fine. No stuttering at all. That is without downloading new drivers. :BOP:

    The game still crashes though if i play the challenges before the match.

    Windowed mode seems to be the only way I get a stutter free game at full screen and full resolution. If I just full screen it the stuttering is unbearable.

    Anyway to disable the pop up overlays that display in game stats during gameplay? that and the advantage logo is still causing the game to stutter for me, i thought the new nvidia drivers had sorted it, but i was wrong.

    I am now having terrible issues with stuttering. Strange thing is it played smooth until I formatted my pc.

    Could this be a sound issue as the intro sound sometimes stutters and in some cases during commentary.

    I have recently been getting overheating issues on my cpu but have cleaned the fan and redone thermal paste and it seems to have done the trick in fixing that issue.

    I am running Windows Vista Home on e8500 processor, 4 gig of ram and a ATI 4890HD 1 gig card.

    Any help appreciated.

    The new nvidia drivers are out and per frame rendering has returned, seems to have solved my problems for now.

    Multi display performace
    max pre redered frames set to 1
    vsync app controlled
    Triple buffering off (stutters in cuts but not gameplay)
