Ask the Dutch about the Dutch

Rosenberg is fast, needs space, good in positioning, scored the last 12 matches..

Huntelaar is more like Ibrahimovic, but he scores a lot more goals.
He is strong, strong while on the ball, very good header, very good shooter, very intelligent, not so fast though, good passer.
He really is a surplus for the Ajax squad, because we always play 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 and the squad cant function when we dont have a striker who can hold the ball and pass it along to the coming AM or wingers.

Huntelaar is a killer, top notch!
Rosenberg now plays on the left wings and scores every match too, you can compare rosenberg with Henry a little, he had some though first matches but now he is playing really really good.

btw, most dutch people say Huntelaar is the best dutch striker, better than van Nistelrooij, better than Makaay, etc etc...;)

He did score most of his goals this season for Heerenveen, at least till now;)

btw what ever happened to Kevin Hofland? at one point in time he was one of the brightest dutch talents around and was chased by AC Milan, Arsenal, Spurs and Barcelona...but the last few years have seen him disappear into the wilderness

The interest dissapeared after he suffered a big injury, which took him out of the game for quite a while. He couldn't quite recapture his form for PSV as a consequence. So when Wolfsburg came in with a offer for him, PSV accepted. I always thought he was a bit underrated, but PSV didn't think so apparently.

Well, he only played 8 matches for Ajax, so its logical he scored more for Heerenveen... but at the end of the season he will have scored more for Ajax i guess...scored again today tough... he has an Ajax avergae of more then 1 goal in every match....damn the guy is superb...even Zlatan didnt score as much, especially not in his first season when he was 4th reserve and Ajax almost selled him..

Haha, I saw Maduro again last weekend. He seems to be enjoying his fame. Cocky smile on his face, because of all those people shouting behind his back "hey that's Maduro!". Didn't catch him scouting the porno section this time though.

He scored 17 goals in 14 games at Heerenveen, which is very, very good.
I don't think he achieves that at Ajax, and even if he does, it's harder to score 17 goals at Heerenveen then at Ajax, normally.

Another question for the Dutchies, I hear you have a friendly match against Australia coming up, they thrashed England when they played them. What chance do you think your lot ave' against em?

We'll inform Hiddink that if Australia wins, he'll never enter the country again!! Ha!

Seriously though, Australia look to have a decent squad with a very strong team-spirit. They may surprice us, but I dont reckon they will.

Indeed, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Same type of striker, strong at the ball, shoots from every place around the 16 and is very clever in what he does. He's just the new v. Nistelrooy, v. Basten or something, but then a little bit better I think. Plus that he's a young boy, so he has a big future in front of him. But let him first play some nice seasons in Amsterdam please!! ;)

Hi friends, I am Ecuadorian and sow the game yesturday. I was expecting a pounding by Holland, but we lost 1x0. True that Holland missed a lot of chances to score but i do think that the first half we played well and missed the only chance we got to score wide right. Why did Van Nistil Ruy play? Ecuadorian media said he had the flu. Oh well Holland looked great the should make it far in the world cup.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar.Nice unique name,I'll try to watch him play in tv sometime. The reason to why I asked my question was,United always had Dutch players in the team somehow and Ruud's time is going to be done soon at United.I fear United will cash in on him after next season. As far as my time in supporting United,I've seen the likes of Jaap Stam,Jordi Cruyff,Ruud and now Van Der Sar playing for United and I wouldnt be surprise if we get another Dutchman. We were interested in Arjen Robben last season and Nigel De Jong for the January transfer window until the both players signed for some other teams.

who is Heerenveen's top 3 players of all time ?

and what chants do the Heerenveen fan sing ?

1. Abe Lenstra
2. Ruud van Nistelrooy
3. not sure, I only know players from the last 15 years or so. I'd say Korneev, Tomasson were great

About the chants, I don't have a clue.

RVN indeed had the flu mate. Although I think Kuyt stands a chance of starting during the WC. You played well the first half. The team looked balanced and it's not a coincedence you finished third in your qualifier group. You did get most of your points at home, so that might be a problem during the WC.

Holland played well the first part of the second half. It mostly had to do with Maduro. He brings depth in the game and is a great one touch passer.

yeh kuyts a decent substitue but dare i say it....but v persie would give u guys something unique and different. Imagine v. persie and rooney...trying to stop them?? where do u start!!

That is probably because you've seen V. Persie play (often), most Dutch will agree that they rather have Kuyt than V. Persie in the team. Sure V. Persie can score goals and is creative, but there's not too much else.

You're right about Maduro, altough you don't see him you still feel that the team is more secure when he is playing. Simons at PSV is also a guy you don't spot, but I think that without him PSV is less balanced.

The world cup will be different, and you are right we did win most of the games at home. But before we used to lose and never made the world cup, how can you explain that? I think it is our coaching staff that help us out BIG TIME. Maduro wow what a player, he is a guy to look out for.

About the chants, I don't have a clue.

Fries volkslied (don't know english name),the chant with we come from the north we're going all the way, singing Heerenveen is popular, wie niet zingt/springt is voor Cambuur. (Who doesn't jump/sings supports Cambuur)

I can help you with this one! SC Heerenveen has a tradition that they always play/sing the Frysian (Friesland - province in holland)anthem before each match. Its one of the special things that make SC Heerenveen such a warm club where players enjoy playing.

Here are some chants (some are player-related!)

we zijn de trots van het Noorden. trooooooooots van het Nooooooooorden. We zijn de trots van het noorden. -Melody "There's only one Man United"

Ole SC Heerenveen Ole SC Heerenveen Ole SC Heerenveen ,
Ole SC Heerenveen Ole SC Heerenveen Ole SC Heerenveen.
-Melody "Go West" Pet Shop Boys (alternative: Sta op voor Heerenveen, sta op voor Heerenveen etc.)

Shalalalalalalala *clap* *clap* Shalalalalalalala *clap* *clap* Shalalalalalalala *clap* *clap* Singin SC Heerenveen *clap* *clap* *clap* -Melody "Is this the way to Amarillo" Tony Christie

Singing Heerenveen, Heerenveen SC and we come from the North we're going all the way!

Seipinho woowwwooo, Seipinho woooowwwooo (like Litmanen or Vieira)

Mark de Vries, wie kent um niet, Mark de Vries Mark de Vries is een echte Superfries!:-)

Maybe I should stop now and just capture some chants on audiotape and post them here next time I go to a match.
