The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) returns to its usual setting of Los Angeles after a two year dropout. The rebirth of the event brings about the past glamour of gigantic neon displays, large crowds and of course the beautiful booth babes. All three major manufacturers are headlining the conference with their own keynote media briefings so expect huge announcements from them. E3 2009 officially begins on June 2nd and finishes on June 4th.

RUMOURS:

SONY (PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Network)

  • New PSP to be unveiled at E3 2009. Called PSP GO. Features touch/sliding screen, increased storage. No UMD. Will have access to a new PSone library on the PS Store as well as a new
    PSP App Store.
  • Several unannounced PSP titles shown for the first time. Includes both first and third party games.
  • Team ICO and Fumito Ueda to unveil their new IP for the PlayStation 3 platform. Project TRICO internal trailer already leaked and available.
  • Gran Turismo 5 to be fully shown at the Sony briefing. Coming out in December 2009 globally and will feature over 600 cars, 90 tracks, 16 player online, HOME support, night time racing, dynamic weather and damage.
  • God of War III demoed on stage.
  • Starhawk from the makers of Warhawk, Lightbox Entertainment to be unveiled during the keynote.

Oooh, I like the sound of the MS PSP!

Looking forward to that, plus more info on Alan Wake, Forza 3, FIFA 10 and the Rockstar North announcement.

I'd advise people to stay away from Gamespot this year, the latest web player on their site is shocking plus Gametrailers are doing free HD streaming this year.

Looking forward to BFBC2, the first one had potential if it wasn't for the main game mode being a bit crappy...

Yeah I agree, the campaign mode was abysmal to be honest it was the same thing over and over again. However, the online mode was good so hopefully they can improve the campaign and also the multiplayer.
 
Sorry, I was referring to the whole gold bars thing; compared to the modes in all the other FPS games it just felt so rubbish (e.g. headquarters in CoD is absolutely brilliant IMO - but even a standard team deathmatch mode would have been better).

But yeah, the single player game was poo as well.

not with 2 disks? wtf? how will that work. say if pick a car from disk one, and u pick a car from disk 2. how are we to race eachother?

Before you go and say "we can install the game on the hdd" All that data wont fit on a formated 20gb hdd assuming you install most of the contents of the game from both dual layer DVD's?

the second one doesnt look promising. low 24 player count, kill cam added plus regen health!

its not the battlefield game we are hoping for chris.

GT2 was on two discs was it not, an Arcade and a Sim/Career disc as such. It could well be something like that.
 
ahh is it? o ok cool, i diddnt know that. that could work. have SP/career mode in one disk, and MP in another

The Ballad of Gay Tony launches this autumn alongside Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City which contains both premium DLC packs on one disc.

From the official press release:

Grand Theft Auto IV's second downloadable episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. The Ballad of Gay Tony will release on Xbox LIVE this fall for $19.99 or 1600 MS points and requires players to have Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE membership to download.
