Rumour – Take Two casting call links Pedeaston to GTA V

Take Two is set to host a casting call for characters for Grand Theft Auto V, according to what appears to be leaked information.

Ripten‘s discovered the casting call page, which is looking to nail down five characters.

They are: an 18-25 “liberal young male who believes in a conspiracy made by Republicans to undermine America; an 30-40 “white creepy man who thinks that technology is a poison against the wilderness”; an 20-25 “female obsessed with sex parties, always dreaming of becoming a Hollywood celebrity”; and an 10-15 “young, fast-talking boy fighting for the right of young boys to drink alcohol and have sex.”

And the one character that adds authenticity to the story: a 40-45 year-old “man-boy love activist who just got released from an Indonesian prison” known as James Pedeaston.

Pedeaston is a character in a past GTA, having been a presenter for “The Wild Traveller” on radio talk station WCTR in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Potential web domains for the still-to-be-announced sequel were found earlier this month; the game is apparently codenamed “Rush”.

Hollywood is rumoured to be the title’s location.

Their was that poster from Vice City which was mostly covered which had "Next Stop" or something like that.

If it plays like GTA IV I'll be gutted.

Hopefully the characters are more engaging this time and the city is more interesting (which it will be if it's Vice City).

Either that or give us San Andreas but absolutely massive.

The longest rumour of the GTA series has always been of Carcer City which has been mentioned within nearly every GTA game since GTA 3. It would be interesting if they move away from Liberty City/Vice City/San Andreas.

Well if Pedeaston is 40-45 years old, and released from prison, that should mean that the game time period is after 2003 (that's when he was arrested according to GTA IV). And since he was "released" he probably served his time in jail so it's probably modern day time. Hopefully it's a more open environment than GTA IV. A mix between GTA IV and RDR would be nice.

I hope they'll introduce loads of the stuff you could do in San Andreas. GTA4 was great, far more of a convincing world, but San Andreas had so much more to do - alter your character's weight/fitness, go to the casino, buy massive property, and the whole gang territory wars was well funny.

Wouldn't want Vice City again, that's the only version I've ever finished of GTA's.

Saying that it's catch22, as I quickly got bored with the others. Especially SA, but that was mostly down to all the gangsta crap and endlesly driving around the L.A. ghetto.

I loved SA too, but thought VC had a better atmosphere/soundtrack/storyline.

For me, whenever I moved on from one version to the next, it made the previous one seem a bit lame in terms of gameplay.
Like in VC (if I remember correctly), you can't climb walls or swim and SA doesn't have the physics of IV.

One thing I'd love to see in the next GTA is for planes to return, I loved flying them in SA. The map would need to be huge though for them to be needed!

I adored San Andreas, it's the only one I currently have and I still play it all the time.

Agree with both.

Vice City had an immense soundtrack, but the game world in San Andreas edges it for me. I'd like to see a massive game world with multiple towns/cities and countryside areas.

Both had a really good atmosphere about them, such as cruising along 'Miami' beach at night in VC or the casinos along the strip in Las Venturas.

San Andreas had great character customisation such as the haircuts and tatoos and big selection of clothes to wear. I liked having to work out in the gym to stay fit otherwise you became a fat bastard after eating too much fast food.:)) SA had loads of other nice touches like planes, BMXs, parachutes etc....I quite liked the gang warfare stuff too.

GTA5 needs to go back to what the series is all about - light-hearted sandbox play and messing about. GTA4, while still a great game, lost most of this fun and was too serious and dark. Other than following the story, there was not much old-school messing about to be had.

And get rid of the fucking phone.

...and replace it with an iPad? ;)

I agree with most of you on here. I think it would be nice to have a game that's a mix of all the best parts of GTA. The freedom of the PS2 games (get rid of those clunky controls) and the ability to do pretty much anything you like. In terms of content a decent selection of old and new tracks would suit me.

This is almost exactly what I think. Perfectly summed up.

Niko Bellic didn't really appeal to me like the main characters prior, hopefully the character you play is much better this time.

I think it appealed to Eastern European immigrants from the 'Old Country'. I hear their a big target audience these days......
