Needs its own thread really.......

So been spending some time with it, really like the new UI, minimalistic yet I think I found everything I need, two questions:

1. Why no Tyldesley and Townsend? Don't get me wrong I really do like Tyler/Gray but expected that like last year we'd get all new commentary?

2. Offline tournaments, why am I forced to play them on stupid skill levels like amateur? Why can't I choose my own level eg World Class and actually enjoy a challenge?

Played about 6 games so far and have to say I think it is much better than the pervious version.

Once you work it out you can find things easy enough and the multiple squads thing is great too. I also like the new cups where you have to meet a certain criteria to play in them. e.g. min 8 players from one country etc.

I like the fact that you cant change the level, I think some folk would just do all the tournaments on a really crap level just to get coins.

Not bad for £3.99 anyway.

Obviously they shouldn't let us lower the skill level from that of the tournament, but if we actually want to make it harder why on earth shouldn't we be allowed to do so? I don't even care if it earns me no extra coins but winning 5-0 on amateur is tedious to the extreme :(

It also seems really geared up now to make people buy packs with MS points, there's no collectors album to earn coins and there's no last second bidding to get really great deals on cards you can resell or whatever you choose, extending the bidding every time there's a bid in the last 10 seconds is an extremely pathetic idea IMO.

Ultimate team has sucked me back into FIFA, even tho I have a lot of issues with it and haven't played with months... they've made some significant improvements to it and I love the team building aspect so I gave in... but I have a question (had the same q last year)

What happens to your chemistry when you make a formation change/subs in game? It seems they go through a lot of effort to make sure u don't change ur formation in game (the only chance you get to change it at all is after the game starts) and of course the interface of the game is different so you can't see how any changes effect your chemistry.

So, do we know if it does anything at all? For example if I were to to a completely different formation, would it do anything? If I subbed players I wanted into other positions, would it matter? I would hope yes, but it seems like it's impossible to know...

It's not limited to Fifa, it's the same in PES, hell it's the same in just about every multiplayer game, the vast majority want to win only and don't care how they do it, they will cheat, glitch or basically play as "cheap" as necessary to win, yes there are a percentage of good people out there who only play online for the experience and will try to "keep it real" if you'll excuse such a banal expression but they're a clear minority.

Oh and for those that haven't heard, EA have had to remove the facility of buying packs with MS points as people have discovered you can make it glitch and get the packs for free by quickly removing your wireless adaptor and putting it back in again, shame they don't remove this facility completely for both 360 and PS3 and never bring it back.

I'm on it constantly but solely for trading, I've played only 19 matches or something, by buying low and selling high with mostly top 4 kits/badges I've earned 120,000 in coins so far :) No idea what I'm going to do with it all, only player I need now is Michael Gray and then I have the whole Sheffield Wednesday squad :)

I got the Barca kit in a gold pack and thought it would be worth something but its worth sweet FA

I started wrong though and didn't bother with the formation or chemistry and just kept saving for gold packs and that turned out to be a shambles. So now i have had a reshuffle and am playing a match, getting 500+ coins and then buying a gold player to fit my formation and its working alot better

I am constantly struggling for coins. I have the Milan badge and Home and away kit, but would gladly swap them for a celtic kit which is hard to come by.

Its all about getting a lucky with a Ronaldo or Messi in a Gold pack and flogging them for silly coins. Then you've got around 150,000 coins and then your sorted.

I have managed to get a all gold team with 75-80 rated players which also have a 4-1-2-1-2 formation so my chemistry is 72 which is pretty good

Now i am looking to improve the players but with me only getting 400-600 a game the contracts are taking there toll meaning im not able to save much

Any help would be appreciated :)

That free gold pack glitch has messed things up for everyone cuz for that brief period, getting coins was as simple as glitching a free pack and then discarding the whole pack straight away for a minimum of 1000 coins (sometimes 2000, all depends on the value of the pack). So now after the glitch was "patched" up, theres too much money out there so cards have very inflated values. I saw Ronaldo go for well over 1 million coins. Messi and the new updated Rooney card go for almost as much as Ronaldo too.
I really hope EA reset everyone's squads and everyone starts from scratch. I guess the only problem with that would be all the packs that people legitimately paid for and how they'd be refunded. But something needs to be done cuz the people who got left out of the "glitch scandal" are really suffering.

enjoyed all the 5 online games i played, won them all

but i didn't notice where you see who has what contract left or fitness etc?

debating buying it as i probably won't give it much time but it i enjoyed what i played of it on the trial

I'm enjoying it as well

Playing with lesser players has got me playing Fifa properly again and i'm playing football how it should be with passing and movement galore and some of the build up to my goals has been the best i have ever done on the game

Its especially satisfying when your playing some nob who just tries to use through balls, skills and shot fakes all the time and you just murder them with your passing and snuff them out in defence

Also it seems as though there are alot of similar players on this who play the same way which may work against people but it definitely don't against me

Is there fatigue between games? The commentators keep going on about my small squad and how my players will get tired but I can't find anywhere that says how fatigued they are and they all seem to start games with full stamina.

Yeah, same answer for Bitter.

When you are at the squad screen use the right stick to flick through the stats like Moral/Fitness etc.

You might start the game with everyone on green, but take a look at half time and you will see the guys that are struggling.

I have not played too much, and only have a few quality players. Robbie Keane and McGeady in midfield, and an Aussie strike pairing of HArry Kewell and Scott Macdonald up front. My chemistry is crap though.

I think you need to spend a bit of time trading to make some coins.

UT needs a few fixes before I start caring again and they're not even that hard to implement. For example, when cups have restrictions (eg. only silver cards, or max 3 players from one nation, etc), they should also limit the amount of assistance on controls. So the easy 1 star cups can have all assisted while the more rewarding cups should force you to play on manual.
Another suggestion is limit the amount of cards you can apply to a play. I've seen people give very average players loads of stat boosts to the point where they're like Lionel Messi. Almost makes it pointless collecting the more valuable cards.

I've got a fairly decent team (Henry, Kaka, Saviola, Joaquin, Robben, Hargreaves, Mascherano, Cannavaro, Lucio, thats a strong team, right?) but got my ass kicked by a guy on assisted controls who was using a bunch of nobodies with stat boosts.

You just have to have a good eye for a bargain. I just picked up Bosingwa 30 mins ago for about 1,500. I'll hopefully get about 7,000+ for him when I sell him.

What I personally do is decide on a player and then narrow your search down so that he's the only one that'll come up. Take Messi for example. For him I'd choose Argentina for nationality, forward for position and Barcelona for club. When you do the search, you'll be surprised how much the prices vary. You'll probably start off with the normal prices but then scroll a few pages across and hopefully you'll find something cheap.
It's almost weird how in one search I saw a player for a 10,000 buy it now price tag but in that same search I saw someone bid 25,000 for the same player somewhere else. I guess people just dont spend enough time to look and take the first thing they see.

I do a lot of that already when i come to buy players but i never buy just to sell so i guess that's my next step

Real kits/badges sell for shit, if you looked you would see there's pages and pages of them so common sense says not to buy them as they have zero resale value, you need to spend a little time first looking at which kits/badges are less common, look for those that people are selling with silly buy nows, pick up some bargain ones for 150 then undercut whatever the lowest buy now is, set it to 12 hours and you're almost certain to sell for the buy now, doing this as I said I've earned 210,000 coins since UT came out :)

I didn't buy the Real stuff i got it in a pack and when i did check for how much they go for there we loads on there

Ill have a little browse later for some rare stuff, i think the 12 hours and buy now idea is the reason i'm not getting much for my stuff as i only put on a starting price and 1 hour on the stuff i list

The patch was only released on PS3 as far as I know. The problem was that chemistry only made a difference offline and had very little influence online. Personally I think chemistry shouldnt stop you from winning if you're good enough, but thats just me.

I've noticed huge amounts of difference playing on fully manual with an 100 chemistry team against same star rated teams with 30-35 chemistry. It really affects how my team move and his team seem to muscle & sprint to every ball before mine. It's frustrating to play and it stinks of Fifa Clubs, which I got bored off too.

100,000 coins can get you 20 Gold packs which is the equivalent in MS Points to 1600 MS points for 20 gold packs, 1600 MS points can cost anywhere from £15-£20

Right I need some help.

How the hell are people getting teams full of premium players. I have a decent team full of gold players but no way can I afford to buy any of the players which cost thousands of coins. The most coins that I have had is 7000, how are people managing to get so many coins? Am I doing something wrong?

It's becoming frustrating playing against teams full of these star players and they almost impossible to beat.

I got my players by winning quite alot of 10'000 tournaments

Plus i got lucky in gold packs with Tevez and Di Rossi which i sold on

I sold 100k yesterday but I still have another 6 million left lmao (I've sold ALL my players but I still have a Messi 94 and Ronaldo 93 in my trade pile lol). I need to sell 4 million and I'll be alright cuz it should cover the cost of all the money I've spent on the game.
The problem is, so far no one is willing to pay the £100 for a million coins. I've seen it go for a lot more in the past but I think fewer people are playing the game now (or maybe I need to be more patient, I dunno). I've had two people ask for a discount. One said he'll buy it for £80, the other wanted 2.5 million for £200. Both I can't accept cuz even at the asking price, I gotta pay tax to eBay as well.

So, so far it's not looking good. Plus I've been banned from the official forum for (I'm assuming) trying to sell the coins on there. lol

If you ever figure something out, let me know too. I'm actually quite desperate to get some money back.
I saw some dude on the official forums that made over £1000 by buying players for cheap on ebay, selling the players in the game, and then selling the coins back on ebay.
I thought I'd do the same and it was all going to plan and I was on course to make about £1000 profit myself but then slowly the price of coins started to drop on ebay. They used to go for £25 for 100k but now go for about £10. I started to panic thinking I better start selling quick cuz it's reached a point now where I will just about break even thanks to the price drop. But now things have gone from bad to worse cuz I have all these coins but no way of selling them. So now I've lost well over £600 for nothing. I would have originally made (70 x £25) £1750 from the sales if everything had gone to plan.
The timing of it has been really unlucky for me. And I actually look at myself and laugh at times. I have a fulltime job so I wont be in any serious financial trouble cuz I usually get enough disposable income. But I'm not willing to accept that all those coins I have are gonna go to waste. They're clearly still worth something and I MUST SELL THEM lol.

luckily for me i didnt spend any real money in the first place but like you it is annoying me knowing i have something worth quite alot of money, also knowing people will buy but i have no where to sell lol.

i put a listing up yesterday for 20,000 coins and sold three lots for £4 each before they went down so the prices are still ok aslong as you sell the right ammount of coins.

i thought i found a forum the otherday (avforums) but cant sell them on there either :(

think i may just email some of the people that bought coins off of me in the past, only problem with that is ebay sending emails out all the time not to do deals with sellers who want to sell away from ebay. they make out they are protecting their members when in reality its because they lose alot of money (they take something like £2 for a £20 sale) if the deal is completed without them

yeah lats week i was selling

20k - £4
50k= £10
100k = £20

then the other day i was still selling 20k for £4 but dropped the 100k to £16.50 for quick sale since ebay are on th warpath lol

I have just about had enough of this, there are just far to many people out there cheating (duplicating players etc.) and now there is a new glitch whereby your opponent can come onto your team, they come on and start scoring own goals or getting players sent off, so you have to quit, it has happened 4 times to me over the last week:

Its definately some dude biding on his own stuff. People have started doing that in the game too, where cuz it's the only player on the market, he makes high bids on his own cards with a second account to make people think that how much it's worth. And then he sells it for real later when enough people have bought into the hype.

You just get a friend to do it. Very easy to do.

The best way of proving this is to keep an eye on the seller. He'll soon have the same players up for sale again...
